I played this solo and 3 hours is about right. Such a good time. The material given in the case is very good. Access to the online is essential I think. It made my suspicions a little clearer and I got the perpetrator right! Will def be getting another one.
Had great fun, had great times - what a night!
Bought this as a gift for my wife, and we solved it together on a couple of date nights (gin not included!). It was very fun to play detective and discuss theories back and forth.
Being a coding buff and a cryptography fanatic, realising there was a code was genuinely one of the best moments of my life.
We plan on buying another pack at some point soon because we enjoyed it so much! Thank you!
Amazing!
Always loved detective and Sherlock Holmes sort of stuff so I bought this on a whim and I loved it especially the online puzzle too as an extra part to it. It takes a couple of hours but it’s so worth it and is an enjoyable way to spend that time. Also if you post a picture of doing this and tag the company cryptic killers they will give you a personalised discount code for the next time you buy one!!
Murder at Merivale Mano
Intriguing story line with sufficient snippets of evidence to raise curiosity and link evidence to suspects. Even after initial theories of who did it emerged there were still sufficient question marks to make us sleep on the outcome and revisit it the next day to make sure our theory was watertight.
This was great fun and was the second case file that we have attempted. It won’t be the last so we look forward to attempting to solve further mysteries in the near future.

1920’s murder fu
This is a great game. The pieces of evidence are high quality; there are photographs, letters, witness statements, magazine articles, book pages and even a small glossy brochure. A real effort has been made to try make them look authentic. The story was interesting and definitely made me want to find the murderer. It took me around 10 hours to get to the solution although I am new to the genre, playing solo rather than in a group and was trying to be meticulous. I probably could have made a guess at the killer after half this time but was enjoying trying to work out the movements of the various suspects and be certain I had identified the correct person.
The difficulty level was slightly too hard for my comfort, but the game did a good job of making me feel smart. The solution to the mechanics of the murder was particularly satisfying to work out. I will definitely try others in the same series.

My dad and I love murder mysteries, having stumbled upon this on a Xmas gift hunt I was so excited for us to give it a try. We’ve both just completed the case (successfully!) and can’t recommend Merivale Manor enough. We loved the detail gone into with the evidence it really gets you intrigued. Make sure you really give everything a good read because the little bits helped piece it together. It’s such great value for money and such a fun way to get people together together. We will be trying more soon!

This was our first time getting one of these – we bought this for NYE and it was amazing! So well put together – all of the evidence feels real and it feels like you’re actually working on a case! We really enjoyed it – lasted us a few hours so worth the money for a date night or games / party night. Can’t wait to do the next one

A seriously fun puzzle with loads of clues, each physical clue is decorated amazingly with newspaper prints and articles looking incredibly realistic, this mixed with the online clues meant there was enough variation for it to be exciting every time you grabbed a new clue! It was difficult enough to keep us entertained but not too difficult that it seemed impossible, as all the clues fell together and we worked it out there was a real sense of accomplishme
Great world setting, atmospheric, interesting
This game is interesting, very difficult but the hints are great as they are a gentle guide. Less about motives here – more alibis. Only criticism would be the ‘written’ statements are slightly hard to read due to the italic font style picked. Perhaps pick something a little easier on the eye
Absolutley fantastic! Played this with my husband and played at a steady pace with lots of chatting and drinking, gave us about 4 hours of gameplay. The quality of the pack and the evidence Is superb. Love that you had to work our a password to gain access to the online evidence. Got the old brain cells working and was a lot of fun. Handy to have the online hints when you come a little perplexed. Would highly recommend this and we have already ordered our next one! Would also be perfect to play as a group, a fun murder mystery dinner party!
