Easy to install, the price isn’t too bad considering you get two of them. One concern I have that I have noticed others mention is the fact you only get one key with it. If you lose that one key you’re going to have issues that’s for sure.

The window locks as I mentioned come as a set of two, they have a sticky adhesive for easy installation, though you can attach them with screws as well if you want to be extra secure. Great for stopping a window or door opening more than you want which is good news for indoor cat owners.

Two chain locks with keys. Designed for windows but can be used in any area that restriction of opening is required.

Self adhesive, just peel and stick. Easy operation and chain allows for varying widths of openings. Price isn’t bad for two. Only concern is durability of adhesive in long term.

In my case I’m using this lock to prevent a window with a broken opening limiter from swinging open in the wind.

For this, even with only the sticky 3M pads, it’s working fine.

There is only 1 key included, and it’s a tiny suitcase-padlock-style key which could easily be lost.

I would very much not trust these for security, even with screws, I think anything larger than a medium sized pet pushing on the window could strip the screws out of the PVC, and if someone is intent on getting in, it will be the fixings that give first and not the chain or the lock.

That said, it depends what you wish to use it for. High security? No. Useful, though? Definitely.

Another use example… put it on the food cupboard to stop your pet from prying the door open. I have a goldfish, so she’s not likely to do that, but our cat on the other hand…

Got this as I like having the bathroom window open but can’t let the cat outside, my mainecoon is a indoor cat so being able to keep him inside is a must, this lock stops him from getting inside even when he trys with all his weight, I don’t know it will fare against a cat but does the job for me

Our property has a number of windows that are large and open outwards from the bottom. This is a worry for us as the little ones can climb up and out of the windows.

I have come across many types of windows restrictors and for me this type with a chain I do prefer. The other type I have got looks the same but uses a thick wire to act as the window limiter. The wire is bendy but does seem to get in the way at times.

The other type I have has a chain like this one but instead of a lock and key it has a two independent actions to unlock, a button press at the same time perform a slide action. It is this part that is more bulky that this version with the key. Our window frames are not that thick so they do slightly stick out.

The other reason for choosing the chain type is that you can vary the restriction opening by locking in a different link on the chain to get the desired max window opening. This feature I do like.

Having a key I feel is going to be a problem if you need to get out of the house quickly but did not leave the key in the lock as you were worried that your little one could open it or you loose the key while you took it out. You could go round unlocking these before you go to sleep but this seems a hard task to keep remembering to do.

The 4 star rating is only due to the concerns I have with the key rather than anything wrong with the way the product provides the restriction.

I got these to stop the windows opening too wide or being blown open by the wind. For this purpose they are absolutely fine but, if you are looking to stop break-ins, I would suggest something more robust. Only one key is supplied, which is disappointing as it will inevitably go missing and the chain is thin but, for the price, it is acceptable.

My bedroom window’s lock has aged and broken off over the course of a good few years so this has served as a good replacement.

I had some issues with the key at first but it seems something inside has settled and now it works fine, so no complaints (now) but would advise you to give that a thorough check before doing anything with it.

The locks stick onto the window and frame by a decently strong adhesive that has no problems holding on to my older frames, and the chain holds the window firm. We’ve been having strong winds that have been slowly (or quickly, sometimes) opening the window but as of this moment it’s holding fast and no longer moving, so it’s doing the job it’s intended for.

I would recommend this item, but again check the key first. 🙂

I really want to give this 5 stars, but I had to knock off one star because the picture shows a white item, which would match the UPVC windows I have. Unfortunately, it is grey. It’s really not worth sending it back as it will do the job whatever the colour, and it works very well. It is easy to fix on the window and is ideal in stopping my pup jumping out when it’s open. So, all in all, I can recommend this to anyone thinking of getting one.

Use these for the kitchen window so we can stop the room steaming up but we have a kitten who’s not able to go outside yet so these are amazing. Easy to install and so easy to use.

This set of 2 window locks come in a Christmas themed box with keys, fixings and a thank you card.
On the back of the item there is some prefitted 3M tape for fixing or alternatively there are screws supplied.
These window locks are much easier to use than my others. All you do is push a chain link into the hole and turn the key to lock it into place. 5 stars.

We don’t have children but we have cats! that like to try getting out onto the upper window ledge, having a way to restrict how far the window opens is perfect for us.

And that’s what this window latch does, via a metal loop chain you can choose how far open to have your window up to about 16-17cm maximum.

Simple 3m sticky pads, they’re thin so it stops the latch moving around and feels more like a permanent attachment, although they supply a pack of screws if you prefer to make them properly fixed in place ie wooden door frames.

Don’t confuse these with security locks, they are not strong enough to prevent an intrusion, but they will stop accidental opening of windows for whatever reason.

The individual link ends are joined so they won’t pull apart, the key is very generic and only one of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, quick and easy to install.
