Official controlle
Standard Xbox controller with the benefits of being able to connect to Xbox one, S and X plus the added benefit of being able to pair with PC and mobile devices.
The controller is very comfortable in hand and is as easy to use as any other Xbox controller. I use standard rechargeable batteries in the controller and the battery life is around a week with heavy usage before needing charging. The controller is very responsive and what you would expect from Xbox.
The price is about what you would expect to pay but it doesn’t feel that bad paying for it with connectivity to other devices.
Spot o
Great colour, great hand feel. Feels like it’s good and robust. No performance issues, battery life in keeping with standard issue controller. Simone to link to the console-easy to use. Happy with value for money..
Product Review: Xbox Wireless Controller – Carbon Black
The Xbox Wireless Controller in Carbon Black is a sleek and refined iteration of a classic design, maintaining the high standards set by its predecessors while introducing subtle improvements that enhance the overall gaming experience. Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or new to the Xbox ecosystem, this controller offers comfort, precision, and reliability that make it a must-have for any Xbox or PC gamer.
Design and Build Quality
The Carbon Black finish gives the controller a modern, understated look that will appeal to those who prefer a minimalist aesthetic. The matte black surface feels smooth and comfortable in hand, with textured grips on the back that provide added control during intense gaming sessions. The controller’s build quality is excellent, with a sturdy construction that feels durable and well-made. The buttons, triggers, and thumbsticks are all responsive, offering satisfying feedback that enhances gameplay.
Comfort and Ergonomics
One of the standout features of the Xbox Wireless Controller has always been its ergonomic design, and the Carbon Black model is no exception. The controller fits naturally in the hands, with well-placed buttons and triggers that are easy to reach without straining. The slightly smaller size compared to previous generations makes it more accessible to a wider range of hand sizes while still feeling substantial enough for extended gaming sessions. The textured grips and d-pad improvements make long-term use more comfortable and precise.
Performance and Responsiveness
Performance is where the Xbox Wireless Controller truly shines. The thumbsticks offer smooth, accurate movement with just the right amount of resistance, making it easy to aim and navigate in-game. The triggers are responsive, with a pleasing amount of tension that adds to the immersive experience, particularly in racing or shooting games. The redesigned d-pad is a significant improvement, offering a more tactile and accurate feel, which is especially noticeable in fighting games or when navigating menus.
Connectivity and Compatibility
The Xbox Wireless Controller connects seamlessly to Xbox consoles via wireless technology, with a quick and stable connection that ensures minimal input lag. It also pairs effortlessly with Windows PCs, Android devices, and even iOS devices via Bluetooth, making it a versatile option for gamers who play across multiple platforms. The setup process is straightforward, and switching between devices is quick and easy.
Battery Life and Charging
The controller is powered by AA batteries, which might be seen as a downside for some users who prefer a built-in rechargeable battery. However, the upside is that you can easily swap out batteries during long gaming sessions without waiting for a recharge. Alternatively, you can purchase a rechargeable battery pack separately if you prefer a more sustainable option. The battery life is impressive, offering many hours of playtime on a single set of batteries.
Value for Money
Given its quality, performance, and compatibility across multiple platforms, the Xbox Wireless Controller — Carbon Black represents excellent value for money. It is competitively priced and offers features and build quality that justify its cost, making it a smart investment for gamers who want a reliable and high-performing controller.
Conclusion
The Xbox Wireless Controller — Carbon Black is a well-rounded and refined piece of gaming hardware that lives up to the high standards set by its predecessors. Its combination of comfort, performance, and versatility makes it a top choice for both Xbox and PC gamers. Whether you’re playing the latest AAA titles or revisiting classic games, this controller delivers a responsive and immersive experience that enhances your gaming sessions.
Rating: 4.8/5
The perfect controlle
Had to buy a new one because of my old one broke. These controllers can easily last 2-3 years if you aren’t heavy-handed with it. But it’s one hundred percent one of the best controllers on the market, amazing response to input, no connection problems and very comfortable to hold.
The money is worth it, especially as Amazon allows a flexible payment plan so if paying it outright is a problem, then you can pay in monthly installments.
Top quality.
Pay for what you get. With the official brand you get quality and that shows in it’s weight.
Love the extra grip on both the back plate and triggers. Capture button is good, ease of use. D-pad is much better than the standard, just feels much better it’s indescribable. Colour is vibrant, all the buttons feel amazing as they should.
Everything feels solid, no complaints. Amazing controller and bonus that it’s compatible with my headset.
The perfect controller. (PC user)
I’ve tried many of the cheaper alternatives, but this is the real deal for a reason. Nothing else comes close. Feels so good in the hands, lovely finish on the plastic. Cheaper alternatives feel hollow and light, with tacky cheap buttons and sticks. This feels heavy and durable, dense, you can feel the quality. Even the buttons and sticks have a lovely tactile response.
Connectivity is instant and satisfying, no dropouts, batteries last a very long time. What’s not to love?
5 stars.
Amazing
**Title: Outstanding Controller with Stunning Design**
I recently purchased the Xbox Wireless Controller in Astral Purple, and it has exceeded all my expectations! The design is absolutely stunning—the vibrant purple color really stands out and adds a touch of personality to my gaming setup.
The build quality is top-notch, with a solid and comfortable feel that makes extended gaming sessions a breeze. The buttons and triggers are responsive and precise, providing excellent control and a satisfying tactile experience. The textured grips on the back are a fantastic addition, ensuring the controller stays securely in my hands during intense gameplay.
Compatibility is seamless across my Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Windows devices. Pairing the controller via Bluetooth was quick and hassle-free, and it maintains a stable connection throughout my gaming sessions.
Overall, the Astral Purple Xbox Wireless Controller is a perfect blend of style and functionality. If you’re looking for a high-quality controller that performs exceptionally well and looks great, this is the one to get. Highly recommended!
I recently purchased the Xbox Wireless Controller, and it has been a game-changer for my gaming experience. Right out of the box, the controller feels well-constructed and comfortable in the hands. The ergonomic design ensures that long gaming sessions don’t lead to hand fatigue, which is a significant plus for avid gamers.
The wireless functionality is seamless, providing a lag-free connection whether I’m playing on my Xbox console or my Windows PC. Pairing the controller with different devices is straightforward, thanks to the dedicated pairing button and intuitive setup process. The range is impressive as well; I haven’t experienced any disconnections even when playing from across the room.
One of the standout features is the textured grip on the triggers and back, which adds an extra level of control and comfort. The buttons and analog sticks are responsive and have a satisfying tactile feel. The D-pad has been redesigned to be more precise, which is especially noticeable in fighting games and platformers.
Battery life is solid, lasting up to 30 hours on a single charge with AA batteries. However, I recommend getting the rechargeable battery pack for convenience. Additionally, the USB-C port allows for easy charging and play-and-charge functionality.
The customization options through the Xbox Accessories app are a nice touch, allowing me to remap buttons and create custom profiles for different games. This level of personalization makes the controller adaptable to a variety of gaming genres and personal preferences.
Overall, the Xbox Wireless Controller is a fantastic upgrade for any gamer. Its combination of comfort, precision, and customization options make it a top-tier choice for both casual and competitive gaming. Whether you’re upgrading from an older model or getting a new controller, this is definitely worth the investment.
As someone who spends hours immersed in gaming, this has become an essential companion for me. From the moment I unwrapped it, I knew I was in for a treat. The packaging was sleek and secure, reflecting the quality of the product inside.
The controller itself boasts a premium build quality, with a comfortable grip and responsive buttons that enhance gameplay. The carbon black finish adds a touch of sophistication, making it a stylish addition to my gaming setup.
One of the standout features of this controller is its wireless connectivity, which provides freedom of movement and eliminates the hassle of tangled wires. The setup process was seamless, and I was up and running in no time.
In terms of performance, the Xbox Wireless Controller delivers on all fronts. The buttons are tactile and responsive, providing precise control in every game I play. Whether I’m navigating through intense battles or exploring vast open worlds, this controller keeps up with the action without missing a beat.
But what truly sets this controller apart is its inclusion of a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones. Unlike the Xbox One controller, I can now plug my headphones directly into the controller without any third-party attachments. This feature adds convenience and enhances my gaming experience significantly.
While some may argue that the price is on the higher side, I firmly believe that the quality and performance of this controller justify the investment. Plus, the fast delivery and overall great service from the seller made the purchasing experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. If you’re looking to elevate your gaming experience, the Xbox Wireless Controller in Carbon Black is a must-have accessory for any Xbox enthusiast.
Great produc
Bought this for my son as a replacement for his broken controller. Why he choose green though I’ll never know.
Buttons work as they should, it connected to the console with no issues. Is comfortable to hold and is slightly heavier then the original but feels better quality for it. The vibration is decent and the price is pretty good
Good controlle
Good controller, works well for my laptop but be warned it takes AA batteries only and you will need a chargeable battery pack if u want to charge it up and save money on batteries.
Awesome colour. Works grea
The best part of this controller is definitely the colour. It works like you expect a controller to work. It’s very bright so never gets lost which is another great feature as we have a dark sofa and dark throws. (Remote controls and the black dog always get lost on it ). Would def recommend and repurchase.
Had to buy instead of PlayStation Controlle
The PC support for the PlayStation controller is a big fat joke! So had to buy one of these! It’s a good controller though! Buttons sound abit more plastic’Y then on PlayStation DS5.
Additional controlle
This was bought as an additional controller for my now ageing Xbox one. It actually feels slightly different to my original controller but not in a bad way. everything is responsive and behaves as it should.
Quality feel
Bought as an additional controller for my sons XBOX although just as handy for him if he’s on his tablet.
The controller itself is good quality and strangely the purple finish feels better in my hands than the plain white controllers which is better when gaming. Certainly my hands didn’t feel like they got as sweaty with this newer one.
I’m even considering purchasing another to replace the other white controller we have.
Works great on PC
Hasn’t skipped a beat.
The MS support can be a bit quirky at times.
Minor firmware issues, which can be fixed by looking at game input dlls.
If you’re feeling brave enough, not sure if this is a Windows 11 only issue.
Seems to be a communication issue with the game bar software.
Disable all that nonsense, you can enjoy a seamless experience on Windows 11.
Great little controlle
I always find these things are always hard to review.
Do you need a replacement controller for your series X/S console?
If you do this controller is fine, it connected first time and after a quick software update it’s worked fine since.
I got the yellow one as at time of purchase, it was about 8 cheaper than most of the other colours. I did not particularly get it for the look, though I like it, I spend more time looking at the screen I’m playing on rather than the controller in my hands.
It makes such a change having a good new controller without stick drift, than a well used 5 year old controller.
Need to Know for PC
Controller looks good, feels good and arrived on time.
FYI…
Need to know that this will not allow 3.5mm audio jack headphones to receive sound from your PC.
You need to purchase a separate “Xbox One wireless adaptor for Windows” to allow audio to your headphones. I have one already, but you may not – and therefore be let down.
Great controlle
The newer Xbox controller is great. There are only a few changes from the previous controller though.
The share button which works exactly as the older method did (hitting the Xbox home button , pressing x or y for screenshots or clips). And some dots where you place your hands for gripping. Expensive, but better than the knockoffs any day.
Fine
My only complaint is that it takes a while to wake up. I have to restart the game a few times before it reconnects. On TV and PC. However, it’s much better than using a keyboard or my other controllers.
It works
It’s an official xbox controller which means it works fine. But I moved from a ps5 controller system and all the xbox controllers feel cheap and tacky in comparison. Nothing wrong with any of them but the ps5 controller is so much better and the same price…
Battery life
The headphone is really wonderful, with a strong battery life that lasts for two weeks of continuous use. As I did, I use it daily outside or inside the house, and I do not turn off the headphone, and this is a wonderful thing in relation to the battery. The sound quality is very wonderful, and you can modify and increase the special application, and this is a wonderful thing in terms of sound quality. The application is presented, but I advise people who like calm to take 770 NC
Can't beat the real thing!
Bought this for our son. We have bought the cheaper versions before and they just aren’t the same. These are better quality and more responsive than the cheaper ones we have bought before. Holds the charge well and the buttons etc feel much better too.
We bought the white as that’s what he wanted (he was paying) it was more expensive than the other colours but he saved for it and has always wanted a white one.
Yes they are more expensive than the others but worth it, to be honest there are often deals to be had if you don’t mind what colour you have.
First thing’s first, it’s a fully functioning brand new, sealed in the box official Microsoft Xbox controller so please ignore any negative (and misinformed) reviews stating anything different.
It came with two AA Duracell batteries and it’s a big step above the 1708 controller with a more ergonomic design in every way from the convex in the thumb sticks to the shallower triggers to the shape and size of the controller itself.
It fits the hand better than previous models and the textured grip on the back of the handles makes it really satisfying to hold too.
For anyone that it may concern, this controller also eliminates some problems previous models had such as the way that the bumpers would eventually stop communicating with the switches behind them despite the switches themselves being fine which led a lot of people to replace the bumper assembly or bodge it with tape.
It’s also completely customisable. You can replace everything on the controller with something custom to the point where you could argue it’s not even the same controller that you bought anymore. Every button, both thumb sticks, the triggers and the faceplate can all be replaced with custom aftermarket variants that are available online.
Overall this is a sturdy, durable controller made from quality materials at a fair price and it’s a pleasure to use.
The Velocity Green Xbox Wireless Controller is a stylish and functional gamepad that brings a welcome pop of color to your gaming setup. Its vibrant green hue is sure to turn heads, and the subtle camo pattern adds a touch of personality. But beyond the good looks, this controller delivers a comfortable and familiar Xbox experience.
Grippy and familiar:
The controller feels great in your hands, thanks to its textured grips on the triggers, bumpers, and back. The familiar button layout and analog stick placement are unchanged, so you’ll be up and gaming in no time. The hybrid D-pad is a nice touch, offering the precision of a directional pad with the satisfying click of buttons.
Connecting to your Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One is a breeze, thanks to the included AA batteries or the optional rechargeable battery pack. You can also use Bluetooth to connect to your PC or Android device, making this controller a versatile option for all your gaming needs.
While the controller performs admirably, And while the green color is eye-catching, but it might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
Overall, the Xbox Wireless Controller — Velocity Green is a great choice for Xbox gamers looking for a stylish and comfortable gamepad. Its vibrant color, familiar layout, and solid performance make it a worthwhile upgrade.
Here’s a quick summary:
Pros:
Vibrant green color with subtle camo pattern
Textured grips for improved control
Familiar Xbox button layout
Hybrid D-pad
Connects to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Android devices
Cons:
Uses AA batteries
Green color might not be for everyone
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
You just can’t fault a real Xbox controller. So far it is better than I had anticipated and I’ve wanted one for a long time. It’s well worth saving for it. The box came a bit loose and crumpled but the controller is perfectly fine. You’re likely to have better luck.
I have tried another low-cost off-brand one and it was no good i.e. stick deadzone is crazy, you have no precision, and the vibration is bad (just some of the various reasons). It seems from reviews they are all that way.
The colour blue is very nice. I love it! For anyone wondering, the back is white, this includes the battery cover.
The Series X controllers are probably the best controllers out there, but for the price they are over priced because they break way too easily. Microsoft will thankfully replace them for free as long as they are still in their one year warranty. My last controller was replaced twice, each only lasting around 4-5 months. The second replacement broke after 5 months if even, that’s 3 controllers broke within 15 months. It’s always Stick Drift or RB button breaking, and I am not rough with my controllers. It’s the build quality that’s the issue, and many times the face buttons can all feel different with each controller, some being spongey or bad button sensitivity. The most recent one I just bought definitely feels like the best feeling one since my first controller that came with the Series X, but it’s a lucky dip weather your controller comes the way it’s suppose to or you end up with a controller with a dodgy feeling face button. I hate PlayStation controllers but at least they don’t break easily.

The Xbox Wireless Controller in carbon black is an absolute game-changer, redefining the gaming experience with its updated design and seamless functionality. As an avid gamer, I must say that this controller has truly elevated my gaming sessions to new heights, making it a must-have accessory for any Xbox enthusiast.
First and foremost, the ergonomics of this controller are outstanding. Whether I’m executing complex combos in fighting games or navigating through tricky platformers, the D-pad responds flawlessly to my every command.

Of course, the actual battery life may vary depending on the usage and additional accessories, but it’s comforting to know that I won’t have to worry about frequent recharging during extended gaming sessions.
While I have nothing but praise for the Xbox Wireless Controller in carbon black, I must admit that it’s not entirely without minor flaws. The controller’s black finish, although visually stunning, tends to attract fingerprints and smudges, requiring regular cleaning to maintain its pristine appearance.
Despite this slight issue, I can confidently give this controller a resounding five-star rating. Its impeccable design, comfortable feel, and customizable features make it a must-have for any serious gamer. The ability to use it on various platforms with ease is a game-changer, ensuring that I’ll never have to look for an alternative controller for different devices.

Whether I’m gaming on my Xbox Series X, Xbox One, or PC, the wireless range and stability have been consistently impressive. The setup process is straightforward, ensuring a hassle-free gaming experience without the need for cables or adapters.
One of the standout features of the Xbox Wireless Controller is the built-in rechargeable battery. Gone are the days of constantly swapping out batteries or dealing with the inconvenience of a wired controller. With this controller, I can enjoy extended gaming sessions without worrying about power. The USB-C charging port ensures fast and convenient charging, allowing me to quickly get back into the game.
Furthermore, the controller’s compatibility with Windows devices is a significant advantage. Whether I’m playing on my Xbox or connecting to my PC, the seamless transition between platforms is seamless. The controller’s responsiveness and button mapping work flawlessly with Windows games, providing a familiar and comfortable gaming experience across platforms.
In terms of functionality, the Xbox Wireless Controller offers an array of features that enhance gameplay. The inclusion of a 3.5mm stereo headset jack allows for immersive audio, while the integrated Bluetooth technology enables easy connection to compatible devices. Additionally, the controller’s compatibility with Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming expands the gaming possibilities, allowing access to a vast library of games.
In conclusion, the Xbox Wireless Controller — Velocity Green is a must-have accessory for any gamer seeking a high-quality, reliable, and visually striking controller. Its impressive design, wireless connectivity, rechargeable battery, and cross-platform compatibility make it an excellent investment. With this controller in hand, you can immerse yourself in the world of gaming and unleash your full gaming potential.
Pros:
– Striking design with vibrant Velocity Green color
– Comfortable grip and textured triggers for enhanced control
– Lag-free wireless connectivity with excellent range
– Built-in rechargeable battery for extended gaming sessions
– Seamless compatibility with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows devices
– Features such as 3.5mm stereo headset jack and Bluetooth technology
– Compatible with Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming
Cons:
– None observed so fa
I made sure the gamepad I ordered on here was ‘Sold by Amazon’ to reduce the risk of receiving a counterfeit one. I chose the robot white xbox controller, and received a robot white series S/X controller. If you wiki ‘list of xbox controllers’ you can see which list your controller belongs to (my one is from 2020).
Pros
– The shoulder buttons, trigger buttons and analogue sticks seem to be of good quality.
– The controller includes 2x AA batteries so you are good to go if you wish to use it wirelessly, as long as your device has the bluetooth it requires to run.
– It has the usual xbox design which mainly borrows from the Sega Dreamcast in layout.
– The controller is recognised on a computer without installing extra software.
– The controller is not very heavy.
Cons
– The d-pad (especially) and it’s four main buttons are a bit loud or clicky which makes the controller feel cheap. There may be alternative controllers with better feeling d-pads out there, although if it’s for retro games you might be better getting a classic styled controller as a backup to this one.
– The battery cover is of thin plastic which also feels cheap. It may be hard to remove too, and feels like it could break. On the cover, put your finger or nail where the arrow shows and push up gently to open.
– The 2x AA batteries included are not rechargeable!
– There is no USB-C to USB-A cable included so you can’t use the controller wired for no lag and zero chance of signal dropouts, unless you have a modern phone cable available.
– For over fifty quid the gamepad is quite expensive.
ps Some wireless xbox controller chargers on here have been reported to damage controllers, so I decided to use a simple duracell AA battery charger instead. There don’t seem to be many that are compatible with the sx controllers anyway.
I avoid non branded items and made up brand name chargers for safety. If you go for any kind of charger or batteries, consider getting them offline or from a high st online store to be safe. I went for rechargeable AA batteries with the highest ‘mah’ rating I could find (highest that the charger could support) so that they would last longer before needing charged again. For the most part though, I’ll probably just use the controller with a phone cable to connect to pc or console.
There are reports of the white controllers changing pink on the back where your hands normally go, as a result of sweat and long term use. I have not had it long enough to experience this. Other than that, it’s still a good controller, and if you aren’t going to use it for many games which require many d-pad combinations (such as in retro fighting games) then you shouldn’t have a problem with it.
