Useful toolbox additio
With a strong magnet on one end and a torch on a flexible neck on the other the ZOOI paid for itself on its first outing.
Having dropped a bolt inside my engine compartment, I located and managed to retrieve the bolt without having to take things apart.
It’s well made for the price and would make a great gift.
A gift...unused ye
Purchased as a gift for my husband. I was looking for a gift that would be useful and brought this gadget based on its reviews. It looks very sturdy and is fitted with a battery but also comes with a spare battery. It won’t be used often but I’m hoping it will be useful if nails, screws etc drop into awkward places. Time will tell. I’ve given my rating based on not having been tested.
Ideal if you have mobility and/or dexterity issues
I ordered this for my son-in-law who is an avid DIYer but has mobility and dexterity issues. It doesn’t stop him, but dropping screws is a bit of an occupational hazard! So this magnetic extendable pick up tool is rather handy for him. It’s small enough to carry around in your pocket to get out when needed, and the LED torch element is handy when you’re looking for a screw when it’s fallen under or behind something.
He also likes the magnetised base, which makes it handy for car work too. It comes in a nice looking presentation box and for 13.99 it’s a great value price point, so ideal as a gift too, as it looks like it cost more than it did – win win! Very useful, works well and happy to recommend.
Useful torch in a nice presentation box for gifting
This telescopic torch is displayed in a smart box and comes already loaded with 4 x LR44 batteries. There are an additional 4 batteries in the box, so I expect it will be some time before I need to purchase any more, although I have found them for sale in my local pound shop, so they are readily available and inexpensive to replace.
I obtained this torch to use when I am card crafting. I regularly drop my tiny individual letter metal cutting dies onto the floor and it is very difficult to find them in the dark space under my table. I also struggle to get on my knees to search for my dies because I have some mobility difficulties.
I am able to extend the torch up to 22 inches long, which reaches all the way around the floor under my table and the 360 degree flexible head can be aimed precisely at my metal pieces. The magnetic tip makes it easy for me to reclaim my dies without having to move out of my seat.
The torch has three LEDs which emit a nice bright light that is perfect for focusing on a specific area.
My husband keeps borrowing this torch to use when he is working on the engine of his classic car. He says it is difficult to locate and pick up any dropped nuts and bolts in such a tight space, but this extending torch has made it much easier for him to reach the dropped bolt and pick it up. I just wish he would remember to return it though, as I often only discover it is missing from my crafting table when I need to use it. I think I will have to get one for him so that I can keep this one for myself!
The current price of 13.99 and the nice presentation box makes this a perfect stocking filler or secret Santa gift at Christmas.
A really handy little tool
This is a totally amazing little device that was a gift from my beautiful wife because they think dads like this kind of stuff lol. And yep, she’s not wrong, it’s brilliant and it has a really powerful magnet on it too! To make things even better, it has a light on it as well, so you can see what you’re rummaging around for and trying to retrieve with total confidence It’s also extendable so it can reach into all those hard to reach areas – under the fridge, behind the sofa, under the sofa, anywhere! The possibilities are endless! It even has a magnet on the hand end so you can hang it anywhere metal!
It has good battery life on the torch and a really convenient size to store, excellent fathers day/birthday stuff. You’ll wonder what you did without it, plus the magnet is super powerful really it tries to grab anything…metal of course. I really like this and give it a good 5/5
For picking up dropped screws and washers
Looking a bit like a thin long torch, this has a telescopic head with a short gooseneck section to allow the head to be angled up to 180 degrees. The torch head has a magnetic ring around the outside of it, great for picking up that washer or little screw dropped on the floor down the side of a cabinet for example, you can light up that little metal sucker before picking it up. The telescopic section can be pulled out making the entire thing about 2ft long.
The other end of the torch has another more powerful magnet
There is a pen clip too
The light output is a small soft circle, it is not really bright enough to light your way in a dark wood but it is enough to see the dropped thing close up.
It comes with 4 spare batteries, it needs 4 x LR44
Awesome
I bought these for my father in law, and two brothers. One of my brothers works on transmissions and loves it. He’s already ran his over with a car and it still works fine. Awesome cheap flashlights!
I wish I'd had one of these years ago!
This is a tool that’s so useful that I can’t understand why I’ve never seen one before! It’s an LED torch on the end of a telescopic handle with a bendy gooseneck on the end. The torch also has a strong magnet around it.
I was an aircraft fitter in the RAF for twenty-five years, and in that time I dropped my share of nuts and bolts. Towards the end of my career I was a trainer, and the students dropped for more than their share of nuts and bolts, to the point where we were wasting a lot of time taking the aircraft apart to look for them. If we had had one of these, life would have been a lot easier.
The torch is really bright. It has a simple on/off switch – no pointless flashing or colour settings. The magnet is pretty strong but not ridiculous – that’s actually a good thing, because I’ve found in the past that if the magnet is too strong it sticks itself to everything on the way down to the thing you actually want to pick up. This one is more controllable, but you do need to be careful as you pick up the lost item to make sure it doesn’t fall off and get even more lost.
If that’s a problem, there is a much stronger magnet on the other end of the handle, so once you have found the lost item with the torch, you can flip the tool over and use the strong magnet to retrieve it.
It’s sold as a novelty, but this is a really, really useful tool.
Handy household gadge
A handy little tool that is great for getting things that have fallen down behind cupboards.
The torch is bright enough and really useful when you’re trying to shine a light into tight spaces. The packaging is good enough for this to be bought as a gift for someone – it’s about the right price point for secret santa or a stocking filler at Christmas.
I’m really not sure why this is being sold as a “gift for men” – equally useful for anyone
Led torch
What a good value for money led torch with extending arm and magnet in the end which makes this an ideal gift which even has spare battery’s and a-nice tin to keep it in see photos to show true item
Good tool, despite poor battery design.
This is a sturdy well made torch with a telescopic head that is mounted on a gooseneck.
There are magnets at the base and around the LED lens, and they work well for picking up screws, etc. that are hard to reach, or just hidden in the carpet.
The single on/off button is simple to operate, but the design means the small head of the torch houses the batteries. Four LR44 button cells, which are fitted (you need to remove the paper insulator first to get it to work) and four spare. A single AA battery and wire through the telescopic part would be harder but much better, or even an internal rechargeable battery in the head. The would put the price up, but as it is you’ll be limiting the use of the light because, well, LR44 cells don’t last long and they are comparatively expensive.
Multi purpose, extendable and flexible magnetic tool.
Upon receiving the first thing i noticed was that the box seal was ripped open and had already been opened by someone else! not a good start. The tool itself worked fine and is suitable for a man or women to use. The light is bright and there is a magnetic head at the base which is strong and powerful, handy for picking up screws, tools and keys etc.
This multi purpose tool is a compact size measuring 17.3cm which makes it handy for popping into your trouser pocket or bag or you can use the handy clip attachment instead, when extended the pole will reach 57.2cm.
The telescopic neck is flexible which makes it ideal for using in awkward and hard to reach spaces. Included are 4 spare LR44 batteries, there are batteries already in place so the tool is all ready to go so you don’t even have to put them in yourself.
Useful tool for someone who finds it hard to bend and would also make a nice gift.
Fab and very useful
This is a fantastic tool! I’m an electrician and have found this perfect for picking up dropped screws in dark awkward cupboards etc. The best part is that you can swivel the head unlike the fixed tools. It’s magnetic on both ends, so I’ve also stuck it to something else metal and used it as a work light! Wish I’d picked one of these up before. Recommended
Great bit of kit!
This is great. What you get is the torch and batteries in foam cut-out, in branded cardboard box. It is a torch that is extendable and has a flexible neck, so you can place the torch at any angle. It is magnetic at each end, so you can attach the torch to a metal surface and you can work hands free, or you can shine the torch on an area and pick up any dropped items.
It can be tricky to close the torch down fully, as it’s difficult to get the flexible section as straight as it needs to be, but there is a knack to it and it can be done quite quickly once you work it out.
At the time of writing this review, the cost is 13.99, which is good value for what you get.
Useful to pick-up anything dropped if of iron and steel; could be slightly longe
Comparable to a simpler tool owned for some years that proved useful to pick-up the sewing needles regularly dropped by the ladies of the household; it lacked illumination so a torch was often also needed.
This “ZOOI Gifts for Men – Telescopic Magnetic Pickup Tool with LED, Fathers Day Gifts, Gadgets for Men Gifts for Men/Dad Gifts, Birthday Gifts for Him Tools Presents for Men Valentines Gifts for Him” is inexpensive and could easily be used by anyone within a family to find and pick-up steel and iron objects that are easily dropped and often impossible to see if on a carpet or rug; for something sharp such as a needle or craft blade etc; it could also be dangerous if on all fours!
It is powered by 4 x LR44 small button batteries with a set of spares included; further replacements are usually readily available and inexpensive when bought as multi-packs. The torch uses three small LED beads rather than an on-chip device used by the powerful LED torches but it has adequate brightness to meet its likely uses.
The magnet has enough strength to easily pick-up a pair of household scissors, moderately large penknife or an item of cutlery and possibly anything heavier; smaller items are no problem.
It is just 17.3 cm long when collapsed, adds 40cm when fully extended, and features a pocket clip so may be of great benefit to car mechanics, similar tradespeople and hobbyists who can attach it to their workwear. While most of its length is of similar construction and appearance to a radio aerial, the front torch portion comprises a flexible section that is easily bent to reach behind a table leg etc – as delivered, a small paper disc isolates the batteries and needs to be removed (unscrew at the hexagonal ‘nuts’). While there may be a benefit were the torch to illuminate its magnetic tip, it faces away from it and may offer equal or greater benefits in other situations.
Useful in the home, workshop, garage etc it is small enough for a car’s glove box or in-door storage, a tool-box etc. Its illumination may help to find non-magnetic components made of brass and other alloys, copper etc but not to raise them by its magnet.
Surprisingly useful when needed, that will not always be daily. The oldest pick-up method employed was to use a small, strong magnet while on hands and knees trying to find the dropped item(s) but not always successfully; some were occasionally found on the floor months or years later having worked their way from wherever they were, possibly just out of reach of a vacuum cleaner. This has enough length to avoid the need to be on all fours and, for those with arthritis and other mobility issues, a blessing although better were it a little longer – perhaps one more extensible section.
Nice gift for father's day or whatever. An ingenious tool
This would make a nice gift on father’s day. It is an ingenious tool that is well made, practical and well designed. The torch is fairly powerful. It pulls out and can be directed at the angle you want. Useful for small places or around corners. Magnets at both ends great for picking up small metallic objects. You can see and pick up metallic items with the torch end. I like it.
