Only a couple of weeks after installation, one of these lights has ceased functioning. I was delighted with their performance up to that point but, as you may imagine, am less so now. There doesn’t seem to be a way to contact the seller directly so will resort to using a review to let them know what I think. The one star is for the light which is (currently) still working.
UPDATE: Despite my not being able to contact them, the seller reached out to me directly regretting my experience and offering to send replacements. These arrived within 48 hours and have been installed. The light is very bright and does just what I need of them.
Installed this today and it was very easy as I just disconnected the duff one and swapped it for the new one.Adjusted the sensor as it was coming on in daylight and it was job done.
Update:
I will be sending these back as they trip out my fuse box every time I try to adjust the sensor.
The big plus was the length of cable that came attached which was a good metre or so.
Installed one from another supplier last week and I had to move the fixing bracket nearer to the junction box because of the woefully short cable supplied.Nice set of unwanted extra holes in my facia board!
All in all very pleased.
Let’s see how long it lasts.
Bought to replace two solar powered LED lights that have died due to water ingress.
Fitting for a DIYer with basic skills is quite simple. I’m not a fan of these new lights where you can’t remove the cable and replace it with a longer one. I assume that’s to keep the IP rating high. It just means that unless you plan to run the cable (1.5meters) immediately inside out of the weather you will need junction box(es) thereby simply moving the risk of water ingress over time further along the cable. They take a bit of time to set the time, sensitivity and how long they come on for but you can access the switches quite easily even when it is up on the wall which is better than some that can only be set by removing the unit from the wall.
How long will they last?
No idea but they are half the price of similar solar powered ones so if I get a couple of years I’ll be happy.
