Works fine for MacBook Pro with M1 chip
Works great, especially given the price vs an Apple charger. Initially my laptop said the battery wasn’t charging, like the review from the person with the MacBook Pro M3 chip, but I’ve had another look and the battery is now fully charged.
A spare charger for my Mac
I own a Mac and I also live in a tall, skinny house. I don’t want to always have to run up and down stairs each time I forget to carry my charger with me, so this spare will be kept in the second floor.
It seems to work well, no overheating or other disasters thus far. I’m always slightly wary when using a third- party charger as it would be very unfortunate to destroy my gorgeous Macbook due to a cheap charger. But so far, so good.
It doesn’t look quite as elegant as an Apple charger and if you’re one of those people who would be mortified if your friends saw you were using an off-brand charger, you mightn’t want to buy this because it definitely wouldn’t pass for “the real thing”. I don’t care about this, but you might.
For me? It does the job and looks just fine.
Made in China.
Does the job
This does what you need it to without fuss. It’s a fast charger for most devices and is capable of powering a laptop with USB-C powershare.
I’ve had no issues with it and have used it on my Steam Deck as well without trouble.
It won’t be great as a travel charger for your phone etc because it isn’t any smaller than your standard one, but might suit for a laptop or Chromebook.
fast charging
I got this charger as a replacement for my wife MacBook Pro charger, it was quite an old one and the cable got damaged only leaving some wires exposed and broken.
Standing at whopping 65W , charger to be an excellent power source for my wife’s laptop, and it is able to fully charge it within around 1.5 hour.
So far she’s using it around a month and she’s very happy with this charge
Solid charger - just wish it was a little smalle
This charger is solid value, it looks like the ones that you get with iPads but charges at a higher speed – 65W, this is suitable for most laptops without dedicated GPUs or more powerful laptops at slower speeds. It charges all my devices well, just wish it was a tad smaller like some of the newer GaN chargers out there (although for the price I can’t complain).
No frills fast charger. It just works.
For the price this is a very good charger. At a penny under 13.00 you get a no frills, 65W charger. That seems like good value to me. It comes supplied with a good, long (roughly, 1m 80cm) USB C to C cable.
When I say no frills I mean that it is a single port charger. To get a multi-port one you would probably have to pay at least double. Also, it has a very utilitarian feel about it – all function; no style. Of course, that’s absolutely fine as no-one buys one of these for their looks. It’s just that you can tell it’s not at the premium end of the market. You get fast charging, for one device at a time, and that’s about it. And, I have to say it does its job really well. The devices I connected all charged noticably quicker using this charger.
So, if you are in the market for a no frills, fast charger then you should consider this one. It has one job to do and it does it well.
Bigger than expected
When I received this charger I was not expecting it to be so large but to be honest considering its quite a powerful charger I should have realised it wasn’t going to be a phone charger size.
The charger seems to be well made and when in use it works well and doesn’t get any warmer than expected, hope quality is not Apple standard but neither is the price.
Good but awkward to place
The square module sticking out of this plug makes it a bit awkward for tight spaces, e.g. behind desks or tables, as it needs quite a bit of room to fit. However, once it’s in it works totally fine. It’s nice that you get a lead with it so you don’t need to buy one separately, as well.
Excellent USB-C charger, just really big for a plug
I know it says 65W/61W Mac Book Pro Charger, but this has the power to charge everything I have plugged into it. Also, it does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable which is 6 feet long, not the 8.8ft it says in the description. A high quality cable though.
So far I have fully charged and it’s been a fast charge:
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
Samsung Galaxy S9 Ultra
iPad Pro
Sony DualSense Edge PS5 Wireless Controller
Meta Quest 3
Meta Quest 3 Starp with extra large capacity battery.
iPhone 14 Plus
Apple Airpods Pro 2
Samsung AirBuds 2 Pro
All with rapid fast charging. The plug never gets warm, and doesn’t vibrate or buzz.
The only negative I have come across is that the plug itself has got to be the largest I have ever used.
With it plugged into a socket on the wall, from the faceplate of the socket to the back of the charger is 10cm front to back and then your USB-C cable into that, and then 7.5cm top to bottom, then 3 cm wide, So definitely a long plug. You have been warned so to speak.
All In all, a good quality, high powered USB-C charger. A good fair price, I would recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another if needed.
