This device can capture upto 4k and is very easy to setup, just plug in the hdmi in from the device you want to capture output from and plug the out into a monitor. And then plug the usb to connect it to the computer on which you will run the capture software.

I tried capturing using streamlabs and a Full HD stream, however I had to bump up the capture resolution up to 4k to get readable text. Not sure if this was an issue with the software or not, but eventually sorted by going up to 4k.

Listed Price when I reviewed it: 16.99

To be honest, I didn’t expect much when buying this, only because I don’t usually buy things that don’t have much ratings. But upon setting it up, it works exactly how I expected it to be.

Currently connected to my Switch and my two monitors and used to stream gameplay on Discord. It works perfectly without lag. I can’t say if the capture card does 4K as the Switch can only go up to HD Res.

    Summary:
The device is great as i am able to capture gameplay from my console straight to my laptop, it does as advertised and I’m happy. Not much else to say, I’d highly recommend it.

    General:
    The box contains: 1 capture card, 1 USB A, 1 USB C to A adapter, 1 manual
Although the USB is 3.0, it didn’t matter for my 2.0 USB connection. I paid 18.99 for this product. I did get the one without HDMI, so I can’t talk on the quality of that.

    Review:
It comes with a USB C to A adapter – if for whatever reason, it didn’t work straight from the USB, my laptop has a USB C port which I could instead use. The capture card itself is extremely light and small, which I wasn’t expecting. This is literally plug and play, which is nice. One nitpick I do have is that the USB A provided feels kind of cheap and hollow, despite that it feels like it’s built to last. It’s hard to explain. I hope this review was helpful.

This was my first foray into video capture so I come at from a non-expert position. The kit itself looks quality but getting it set up was a pain. The documentation that comes with it is next to useless so muddled through by consulting t’internet. Once I did get things set up it works great. Picture quality was consistently good and audio synced perfectly. Connecting to OBS is still a bit flaky, but I can usually get it to work with a bit of perseverance.

Frankly I don’t think the whole video streaming route is one I’ll pursue but I’d never have got the chance to check it out in the first place without getting this card. At 19 it’s cheaper than anything else I’ve seen out there and is a great value way to try the technology without spending a load of money.

Excellent capture , with no loss of video and audio quality

I didn’t have a 4K source at the time of testing. Instead I used a raspberry Pi 4. HDMI Input was from the Pi, with HDMI Output going to a monitor.
I connected the capture card to a PC running Windows 10, and used the WINDOWS CAMERA programme in both Photo (for snapshot) and Video recorder mode.

The picture quality on the PC and subsequent video recordings were very good, with no discernable difference between the source and the output on the PC. Likewise, the audio (via the HDMI from source) was just as good. once I got everything up and running, the video was continuous with no drop-outs.

OBS didn’t recognise the card (unless I was doing something wrong), however I’ve had problems with a similar capture device in the past also not being recognised by OBS and complaining about my video card not suitable / update drivers., so it is an OBS / my video card problem, nothing to do with this capture card.

I’m very pleased with this capture card, and I will find it useful.

I was very sceptical of this at first as capture cards can run up into the hundreds, but I’m happy to say it did the job just fine for me. However, I’ve only used the N-Switch on it. It states it’s 4k, it’s not, well, it accepts 4k input but you’ll be capturing at 1080p.

It’s easy to set up and my program had no issue with it, recording quality looked great and the sound was decent, although I never recorded with my voice using a mic or anything.

I think considering the price, this is a decent enough alternative for beginners who want to record from low resolution devices like the Switch or Steam Deck. It’s bare bones but very easy to use and does the job. I got mine without the HDMI cable but make sure you select the right version if you need one. At 16.99 I don’t think that price can be beaten.
