Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’ve used many USB-C and mirco UBS to lightning adapters but I never considered using lightning to USB-C, seeing as I have a lot of those cables why not re-purpose them!

Presentation: Comes in a nice little box. In the box the adapter are in a resealable plastic bag. There is also a 24-month warranty card.

Design: The design feels really solid being all metal (I assume aluminium) chassis with a rubber/silicone band secured in a design indentation which feels fairly secure. It could be removed if you wish with a bit of persuasion. The loop slips over the connector with easy to attach it to the cable. The loop could be a bit smaller but then attaching to cables would be a bit more trouble.

Testing: I tested this on my windows laptop as its my fastest charging device I own. I was able to charge at around 55W with my office Apple USB-C to lightning cable. With a higher rated cable I was able to charge at 60W. I was unable to find what the Apple cable rating was so it’s difficult to say if the cable or the adapter was the limiting factor. However while not 60W 55W isn’t too far off.

Conclusion: I really like this adapter and its a great way to repurpose existing lightning cables as the world progresses to USB-C only. Or if you want to reduce clutter by having less cables.

However the price point for this adapter is on the steep side. You can buy multiple USB-C cables for less than this adapter costs. For that reason I’m knocking a star off because unless you have cash to burn or are OCD around using as few cables as possible, economically it doesn’t really add up.
