Works as described but no switch
It works fine, but it has no switch. You either have to turn it off at the socket, or unplug it. Could do with a timer mechanism so you don’t forget to unplug it. Also, a stencil for mounting would be very useful.
You, really can feel the heat.
But with any new idea come a problem, those of the public who can remember the
the heated stick on car back screen, the problem with them, was if you left them on too long they would burn out at the contacts, the same applies to theses heated panels, the company who supply them in there manual state not have them on for so many hours at time.
Because these are good idea ! , I have come up with answer to the problem ,have a time,I used a mechanical time ,which has 15mins on 15 mins off, for 24 hrs, this keeps back ground heat up and doesn’t used much energy , it wouldn’t not overload the contacts.
But I wouldn’t like say how long panel would last using this method.
Should come with legs
Gives out good heat, it is completely silent, I have it connected through a smart plug with a smart thermostat in the bedroom so during the night the central heating can be set low for the whole house but if the temperature drops below 18 in the bedroom the smart plug switches on and the heater comes on as there is no on/off switch on the panel heater, so it works perfectly, I don’t want it fixed to a wall, I want to be able to move it around the house if necessary so legs would be a good idea.
I recommend this panel heater it is just what I needed at a good price(75 – 80)
Gentle hea
Gentle heat. Mounted on ceiling over home office desk. Control software app & remote could be better though. App allows schedule to be set but does not turn the panel on and off.
Heats really well
This works really well. You can feel heat almost instantly. I bought two of this make and one of an alternative and the heat is much better from these. I have the Wifi version one doe not connect but the other one does! Hanging is a challenge one took an age to get one the other by luck first time. They need to re design the hanging as it really is a mission when you can see to align the brackets with the screws. They are light so you could do something yourself to make it easier.
This has been the best investment I’ve made during the whole house refurb. Gone are cold mornings or evenings getting washed, dressed or undressed. Whether the central heating is on or not, this can be switched on to warm you up whilst going about your business. I used to freeze to death waiting for a medical gel to dry on my skin (can take 10mins) but I no longer have to worry. This is not traditional heat so don’t expect to feel the room warming up. But you will notice you are no longer cold as it warms you rather than the air around you. Brilliant news and another one will go up in the annexe soo
Gives off a nice heat but draws 410w not 360w
It gives a nice heat when its quite close by but its drawing over 400w for the 360w model. I’m going to be charitable and assume its still 99% efficient so the increased power in is just extra heat out and not a problem.
Ideal for a small room -heats up straight away.
It arrived promptly. It heated up straight away and gives out a reasonable warmth..and makes te room feel comfortably warm.
Good to be able to be self standing or fitted to te wall.
Quite neat and handy for a very small space
I’ve been using this for my garden office for the past 4 months and had no issues with it. Cheap to run, no noise, and takes very little space.
However, this is only suitable for a very very small space, as the ad states, so take this into consideration.
Very efficient heate
Excellent product, my partner works in a fairly cold room and this gives off enough heat to keep her completely warm. Fitted a dimmer switch as it was sometimes too warm.
I have 2 of the small panels and one large. The small panels are ideal for one person, next to you in a home office or beside a sofa or armchair.
I’m very careful when it comes to energy use at home and bought these as we only really use the lounge for most of the day/evening. I used the 2 smaller panels and our bioethanol fire last winter but my youngest is mobile now so decided to upgrade the panels instead of having the fire going, kids manage to get into everything they shouldn’t!
The large panel works as I expected, heats up extremely quickly, doesn’t leave ‘cold spots’ around the room and as long as the door is shut, it doesn’t need to be on very long to keep a comfortable temperature.
Of course it is cheaper than having the boiler running and heating the whole house and uses little more than a third of all the fan heaters that companies claim are cost efficient and low energy (even though they run at 2kw!)
The only negative point about these heaters is the power lead, being 2m, they aren’t long enough to mount the panels on our ceiling without having to run extension cables up the wall. Other brands have optional 5m leads that you can purchase and it would be ideal if the manufacturer could make panels with the same.
Also for those that aren’t aware, you can buy a thermostat plug which will switch the panel on or off for around 25 on amazon and maintain the room at the temperature you desire without you having to plug and unplug the panel throughout the day
I bought the 180w to try as a low energy option for heating a small toilet where my central heating struggles to heat. Didn’t do anything. Was going to send back but thought I would try at my desk where I game and work from home.
I normally use a dyson fan to heat the room but this panel gives so much heat to my legs under the desk and will save me heating the whole room unnecessarily.
Was going to send back after it didn’t work for a room but perfect for this application. Easily mounted, I just drove 2 screws through the gable. (Old desk so didn’t care)
Great value for money
I have it underneath my study table by my legs while I work as advised here in the other reviews. I have barely used my blow heater since which eats electricity. In the long run it’s definitely going to save me a lot of money. Obviously won’t heat a room but for one person at a table with the back enclosed it’s ideal. Probably the best thing I have purchased in a while because of the money I will save. Thank you!
First class heater. Using a 600W in our main living room, (3M x 4M). So relaxing.
Using smaller versions in other rooms.
Latest energy bills are so much lower than we’d expected.
Should not be used for more than 12 hours at a time, without turning off for a while.
Dic-300W panel — Reasonably pleased with this panel so far, although very plain it seems solidly built and nicely finished. I hope the front surface does not yellow/distort with use and it stays working.
My panel came with a 1.8m lead and standard UK plug, it was fused with a 13A fuse which is far too high when a 3A fuse would do (Easy to change). I confirmed the earth is connected through to the metalwork of the panel which is needed for safety.
In use with my room at the panel’s “maximum recommended ambient temperature of 20C” (According to the enclosed leaflet) the front plastic-like surface of the panel was measured at 70C, this was surprisingly high and would cause a burn very quickly if touched. The rear aluminium backing of the panel measured around 45C which is touchable but not for long. The frame and hanging rails stabilised at around 38C. There was some buckling of the front surface when hot which disappeared when cooled down. I would have preferred a larger panel which ran a little cooler to get the same heating effect. (Instead of having 1kW per square meter like this panel, say something like 750W per square meter would have been better for me.)
In my application (Not room heating) I need very little heat so I intend connecting this small 300W panel via a 400W lighting dimmer switch to provide me with “dimmable” heat. I’ll probably fit a “room style” thermostat as well for safety as it will be left unattended.
Final note – The heat radiation from the front of the panel is not directed in any way, it spreads out in all directions (Unlike a beam of sunlight). If you are more than 15″ or so away from the panel you do not feel much/if any direct heat at all – The panel will still be putting out all its heat into the room just not directly at you.
Just like su
It warms you up from inside. After half an hour near it it feels like I start radiating heat myself. And it healed my knee pain. Perfect appliance for sitting at the desk or in the lounge also in the bathroom, cheap and very effective. I bought complimentary feet and it stands on the floor. It doesn’t have a switch, so I have to switch it off at the socket though.
I bought 3 of these, and they’re all different. One has a cable coming out of the side, with a European plug and a UK adapter that doesn’t connect the earth wire. Another has a cable coming out of the back with a UK plug. A third has good mounting rails and a UK plug. I cut all the plugs off to wire into sonoff mini WiFi switches for better control – two of them have no switch on the unit, but the third, which I’m planning to fit on the ceiling, does. They’re cheap, and have a surprisingly high heat output (I bought three 720w panels).
They’re half, or even a quarter, the price of other brands, so I’m happy to deal with the issues, but they’re best suited for those capable of electrical DIY.
The pictures look great, the plain white panels are plain and white, and inoffensive.
Edit – I just spent two hours trying to fit this on the ceiling. Four screws, then slide the panel on to them. Simple, right? No. It was more difficult than any other job I’ve done, because I can’t see or feel, it’s pure guesswork. And when one corner goes on, the others don’t – OK, I’ll slide it back off again now I know where it needs to go… But it won’t let go. I think I may have caught three, or possibly four screws, after about 200 attempts. Even now I’m not certain it’s properly fixed – but I’m not wasting any more time on this. If I did, I wouldn’t need a heater – the frustration warmed me up!
Convenient to place in front of a bookcase when not in use. Only used in earnest once so far to take the chill off by raising the temperature a couple of degrees. Did not take long. No problem to control temperature – simply unplug!
