This roller comes very well packed for hygiene – inside the box, it’s sealed in its own bag. Of course it’s important to clean this with surgical spirit before use in any case, but the sealed packaging definitely gives some peace of mind, and the roller case and roller itself were pristine inside.

0.25mm is at the lower end of derma roller needle lengths, but it’s also the safest to start with at home, so this is a good starter roller if you’re new to the technique. The needles themselves are titanium, very uniformly spread and very secure too. The whole unit feels nice and solid, including the roller axle itself.

At this needle length it’s not uncomfortable at all – a light scratch on the scalp or face (the product description does state just ‘face’, but this is exactly the same kind of roller I’ve used on the scalp). Despite some ambiguous instructions, it does seem intended for multiple use, as long as it is sterilised between each use. Boiling water and TCP / surgical spirit should do the trick.

For under a tenner, it’s an easy and good value way to give scalp / derma needling a go to see if it works for you. As a starter roller, it’s well constructed and shouldn’t cause too much discomfort.

I have to admit to being a little nervous about ordering this product.

I have a beard, but in some places the hair just doesn’t grow properly so it can be a bit patch.

I’m currently about 4 weeks in to using the product, and have to say that there’s no change yet. My skin feels nicer, but the hair growth shows no change. In fairness, it says on the box 2-3 months for this to take effect, so it’s still early days.

What you get for your money is the roller itself and nice little black storage case, it’s all very pleasing from a design point of view, something very pleasing about the feel and shape of the case, and the roller itself has a nice light weight and again, as with the case, the plastic handle is pleasingly smooth, almost velvety.

I’ve got the 0.25mm needles as that was recommended for beards, I also wasn’t sure how comfortable I would be doing this on myself with anything too long. The thought of trusting myself with some of the longer needles and the carnage I might cause to myself wasn’t worth the risk. I’ll go somewhere professional I think.

For the price of 8.49 it feels like it’s well priced, and as long as I don’t drop it should last a while. You’ll need to buy the sanitiser so that you can keep it sterile and clean.

It does say on the box “the product is for personal one-time external use only”

I don’t know if that really is “one-time” maybe it should be? I guess if you keep it sterilised it’s ok? If it is genuinely intended as one-time use only item then the case feels like overkill and a waste.

And I can’t imagine I would ever want to use it internally!

So, I give it a sceptical 4 stars right now for price and quality, I would drop this to three if it is indeed supposed to be disposed of after one use, and to 2 stars if nothing happens with my beard in 2-3 months.

I have to admit, I didnt know what this item even did when I ordered it to review but I am so glad I selected it.
It’s a fact that derma rolling encourages hair growth and I am willing to try anything at this point.

I have yet to see results as I haven’t been using it for very long but I will update my review later, if and when I see results (including photos)

It has an ergonomic design which makes it easy to hold and use. And a case to keep the blade safe.

I am very impressed (especially given the low cost)

I am not familiar with Derma rollers, their usage and benefits, but being offered to try this as a member of Amazon’s Vine program, I thought I’ll try it out.

My first recommendation is make sure you read up all about derma rollers, needle length and the associated products to use with it as well as care and after care of the product itself.

Trying it out, it is not as bad as I thought. The needles (the one I had is an entry level / short length) are not bad when I used it on my face. I applied product after and it felt fine and did not hurt. I have yet to see in the next few months whether this has made a difference or not.

The roller comes in a case and is packaged nicely. The roller itself seems robust and made of good quality materials. Again, I’m no expert with rollers but to one with no experience, I would say that this is good.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Users6 weeks after using this roller I am noticing new hair growth where there was none before. For this price it is worth a shot (I was skeptical when first starting). There are clinical studies explaining how derma rolling stimulates hair growth….worth a read.
