Very impressed. We have mainly laminate flooring but hardest to clean has been the stairs and landing carpets. This handles it all really well, especially the small brush on the stairs.
All of the heads pivot smoothly so they’re easy to manoeuvre and keep flat even when under the bed and other hard-to-reach areas.
I love this cleaner. We got it yesterday for my mother. I unplugged and had it ready to go in a minute or two.
It moves around the floor really easily and has excellent suction. Switching floor surfaces involves sliding the big stitch on the top of the hoover head, which wasn’t as easy as the top button you press down on some machines, but straightforward enough. It really grips the floor well and the suction is powerful. Still easy to move around though.
It is such a lightweight cleaner too, and the head is good quality and tough to take knock. As you whiz around the house.
There were two other heads included, a smaller stairs brush head and a tiny little thing for getting into gaps. That just wasn’t very long.
The only negatives are that when the cleaner head and pipe clip into the back of the machine to store, it can take up more space than you should need. Also, when cleaning you can find the top pipe twists in the bottom, making the head turn out of alignment a bit. Simple points that really don’t make a difference but just stop the cleaner being perfect.
All in all, one of the best vacuum cleaners you will get for under a hundred pounds.
Well recommended.
This is the second one I have bought via Amazon, I gave the first one to my daughter. This Hoover model is ideal for vacuum cleaning the interior of SUVs or cars of a similar size. It has a powerful suction and an attachment with a brush facility that is perfect for cleaning the dash and other areas liable to collect dust or food detritus. I gave the first one I bought to my daughter because it had proved its worth, and even after 2 years is working perfectly. If one maintains the cleaner IAW the manufacturer’s instructions, it will last for many years.
I got this in the Black Friday sale & at just under 50 was a good price. Great suction (at times too good & the head disconnects) Very lightweight, easy to empty & a lovely little compact Hoover. My only problem is moving it around but I think all corded hoovers/vacuums can have this problem. Overall good & happy with it.
I only live in a small flat however & once I’ve hoovered through it’s full so if you have more floors/rooms/stairs etc you’d have to empty it at least once in-between using.
I’ve got one very hairy cat & even though this isn’t the ‘pet’ type it deals with her hair/fur very well.
Ok first, we bought this as due to illness I can’t lift heavy things and needed a lightweight, easy to use vacuum. We have two dogs, one moults heavily year round. In order to keep up with the amount of vacuuming that needs to be done we have a Henry for monthly use (boyfriend does that), a hand held for daily use and this Hoover for weekly.
However, the pet brush is useless for the task at hand (Collie hair) and gets tangled in minutes. It’s a shame the pet hair brush tool couldn’t stand up to Collie hair but to be fair, I haven’t found one yet that can. So I just use the standard brush in combination with the other vacuums and it’s fine for that. The suction is pretty powerful for such a small machine and it’s performance on laminate and linoleum is great, on carpet and rugs average.
The cord is quite short and could do with being much longer for our home but as it’s light it isn’t a problem moving it around. The brush and stair attachments are handy for skirting boards, radiators and window sills, the cylinders and filters easy to access and clean, which is good because with these dogs and rural living it fills up pretty fast. It’s also not too loud, light enough to lift for ceilings and crevices and dinky enough for smaller storage cupboards. I saw in another review that the Hoover itself can get static and attract hairs. This does happen a little but I just vacuum them off!
So – if you want one stand alone pet vacuum cleaner that can do everything in a larger home that requires frequent heavier cleaning it’s not the one.
If, however – you DON’T have pets with fur and lighter cleaning to do in a smaller home it’s a nifty bit of kit that does the job, particularly on hard flooring.
– If you DO have pets that don’t moult very much and a small home it’s a good easy to handle machine that’s easy to look after and convenient to use, clean and store.
– If like us, you have heavier cleaning to do and much hairier pets it’s good as a fast and easy back up for weekly maintenance cleaning in conjunction with a meaner machine for regular deep cleans.
