Houseplant Potting Mix (Enriched with Seramis)
Houseplant Potting Mix (Enriched with Seramis)

Why Use?
Westland Houseplant Potting Mix contains unique Seramis granules for optimum water and nutrient availability. The granules absorb water and slowly release to create the perfect climate for your houseplants to thrive. This open, free draining mix promotes healthier growth and greener leaves.
When to pot / re pot?
Indoor plants will eventually require re potting as they become pot bound. This is when roots appear through the drainage holes in the pot.
How to pot up / re pot?
1. First water the plant well and allow it to drain.
2. Choose a pot larger than the old one ensuring it has adequate drainage holes. Place a layer of potting mix in the bottom of the new pot, and gently tap the old plant from its pot.
3. Place in the new pot ensuring the root ball is slightly below the rim of the new pot. Fill in around the root ball with potting mix, gently tapping the pot to ensure all spaces are filled.
4. Water well.
Handy Tips
Westland Houseplant Potting Mix contains sufficient nutrients to feed plants for approx. 6 weeks. After this period, feed with Westland Houseplant Feed every second watering in the active growing season (spring/summer ), and every fourth watering in the winter.

My go to
Works well in every plant I have.
No need for multiple types of soil, all healthy and even propagation works great. Sometimes I mix in some perlight if needed but really streamlines what I need to buy. Excellent price too.
Good value for money.
Good value for money. Easy to use. Repotted two orchid plants with ease after reading instructions. Hoping that the plants will appreciate my efforts to look after them and reward me with beautiful blooms.
Got this to repot my Kentia palm
I used this to repot my kentia palm and top up my other kentia palm too. Have quite a lot left over so can use it for my other houseplants in the future.
Orchid compos
Mom has an orchid and it was time to change it compost and this was the best choice because this compost has granules in it that helps the plant roots to breath .. 🙂
Thx
Bought this for my Monstera’s as they hadn’t offered me any new leaves in a while. Following a repot into this stuff, they’ve started growing new leaves regularly. Seems to be really good quality and my plants are happier than they were before!
Perfect for orchids to live i
I used to use woodchip with my orchids until I found this and now they are growing new blooms more frequently and generally look healthier in this type of mix. I would recommend it for indoor orchids.
Outstanding service
I ordered this yesterday afternoon 10/04/2024, prime delivery.
Couldn’t believe it when the postman was delivering it at 0830 this morning 11/04. That is exceptional service. Have used this before for repotting my orchids, always good results.
Recently treated myself to a lemon tree that wasn’t looking too happy, soil was poor and it needed a feed so I ordered the westland citrus potting mix along with the westland citrus tree feed. The mix seems nice and free draining and so glad there were no fungus gnats in it as I’ve had several houseplant mixes that did!!
Time will tell if the tree thanks me or not hence the 4 stars.
cheaper in asda
i found the same potting mix for half the price in asda the next day which is sad. neded to repot 1 plant, it’s still alive after a week which is good
Great Value
Bought this for the “baby cacti” I cut off my adult (dying) cactus plant, and they seem to like it! The bag is a good size – you get plenty in it, but it isn’t too big to carry and store – very manageable. Seems good quality and no sign of any gnats
I bought the out the Westland Bonsai Potting Compost Mix for my bonsai, and I really like it. The Seramis granules in this mix are help control how much water my bonsai gets, so I don’t have to worry about overwatering and messing up the roots. This mix is made specifically for bonsai plants. With the added wood fibre, it helps the roots. The bag contains 4-litres and was just the right size for my bonsai. Overall, I’m impressed with the potting mix.
I bought the bonsai soil for my lemon tree, thought might be better. Seemed good quality, hope it has all the nutrients that the plant needs.
The other reviewers saying that the soil is infected with insects, unfortunately that was true (( but came up with a good effective solution, just emptied the soil on a baking tray deep enough and cooked it for a 20 min at 200 C+. This method guarantees free from worm or insects larvas in the soil, just put the extraction on while cooking it, might be smelly.
I recently purchased the Westland 10200054 Cacti/Succulent Potting Compost Mix, enriched with Seramis, and I must say, I am extremely pleased with the results. After inheriting a Christmas plant from my late mother, I was determined to give it the best care possible, and this potting mix did not disappoint.
The compost mix comes in a convenient 4-liter bag, which was more than enough for repotting my plant. The packaging was sturdy and sealed well, ensuring the freshness and quality of the compost mix was maintained.
Upon opening the bag, I noticed the mix had a light and fluffy texture with a pleasant earthy smell. The addition of Seramis, a moisture-control additive, gave me confidence that my plant would get the right amount of water without risking overwatering. This was crucial, as cacti and succulents require well-draining soil to thrive.
Using the mix was a breeze. I gently removed my Christmas plant from its original pot, shook off the excess soil, and placed it in a larger container filled with the Westland compost mix. The mix provided excellent support for the plant’s roots, ensuring they were held in place securely. The texture of the compost mix also allowed for proper aeration, preventing root rot and encouraging healthy growth.
Over the following weeks, I noticed a significant improvement in my Christmas plant’s health. The leaves became more vibrant, and the plant looked overall more robust. The compost mix seemed to provide all the necessary nutrients it needed to thrive.
I also appreciated the longevity of the Westland compost mix. Unlike other brands I have tried in the past, this mix retained its texture and moisture control properties for an extended period. It required watering less frequently, saving me time and effort.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the Westland 10200054 Cacti/Succulent Potting Compost Mix enriched with Seramis. It not only provided my inherited Christmas plant with the optimal growing conditions, but it also surpassed my expectations in terms of quality and results. If you’re looking to revive and nurture your cacti or succulents, this potting mix is definitely worth considering.
