Natures Aid Inulin Powder, 250 g (from Chicory Root, 100% Natural with FOS, High Fibre, Low Calorie, Prebiotic, Vegan Society Approved, Made in the UK)

Inulin first came to public attention when it was mentioned by Angela Rippon in a program called ‘How to Stay Young’.
It is a starchy fibre found in a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs, including wheat, onions, bananas, leeks, artichokes, asparagus and chicory.
It is a high fibre, low calorie substance.
The human gut is full of bacteria, often referred to as ‘The Microbiome’.
Much research is currently underway studying the impact of the microbiome and the fibres which feed them.
The fibres which feed the good bacteria of the microbiome are often referred to as ‘prebiotics’.

Grumble Tum
I first become aware of inulin on a programme by Angela Rippon who likes to keep herself fit so was looking at products that would benefit her. Very slim as she is she was shown she had fat where it shouldn’t have been and advised to take this every day to prevent future health issues. Which is why my husband and I use it too.
I take about 1 teaspoon daily, I add it to protein shakes and it helps to prevent constipation.
I can’t even tell that it’s been added to my shake as it dissolves quite easily and I don’t think it really tastes of anything, this makes it easy to use on a daily basis.
Was very sceptical on purchasing this product, however I cannot believe the benefits I have felt within 2 days of taking it. More energy, restful sleep. Actually waking up before my morning alarm feeling great, will definitely be buying again.
It’s easy to take , no nasty aftertaste. I have added it to my morning coffee, sprinkled it on my cereal, teaspoon into my yoghurt.
I waited a few days to add my review, nearly a week on and I’m definitely feeling the benefits.
Very good product. I recommend. But only use a very level teaspoon in your coffee or whatever a day.
Only increase to two tsp if really needed.
Stop using if bowel becomes very upset!!
I like this Nature’s Aid inulin due to its packaging. I’ve had inulin in a supposed-to-be resealable bag before – they never are and the powder goes lumpy as a result. This one is in a screw top, plastic bottle and not too large for the cupboard. I take one teaspoon a day in with my breakfast shake. My digestion has improved with this additional fibre.
I use this to activate yeast when baking keto recipes, have used it twice now and it definitely works. The sweeteners I have used previously haven’t been able to activate yeast(Erythritol), but with this I saw a huge difference in my bread and rolls. I could not taste, smell or see anything at all from the powder either so I would assume this would be fine to use in any beverage or food as a fiber supplement.
Like most people I never used to focus much on fibre but as I eat a high protein diet I need good gut health to help digest the food that I eat. I’ve been using this for a good 6 months and have had no bloating or irritation and it really helps to digest all the food as well. Highly recommend for everyone we can all add more fibre into our diets
I’ve tried other inulin products but the packaging and consistency of this is better. The tub keeps the product contained and fresher than pouches and the actual inulin seems slightly more granular which prevents the ‘fly away’ that you get with more icing sugar type inulin of other manufacturers. It still blends very well with foods and liquids.
Purchased this due to documentary on TV supposedly able to disperse internal fat plus other health benefits..ie high in natural fibre..and more..I only take one teaspoon in a hot drink as I have found it does upset my stomach if I take more…but I’m pleased with product lasts ages will be purchasing more…also arrived promptly..
Adding to Greek yoghurt, chia, freshly milled linseed fruit and nuts for a bowl of health for breakfast. Bought this variant as it seemed logical to go for the chicory extracted version. Quality product and packaging. Long-term project along with LCHF eating.
Originally ordered to add fibre to my diet (it had the desired effect). I chose this particular one as I thought it would be easier to use and store than a pouch. (although there were no reviews against this particular brand)
I was sceptical of the other health claims (supporting good gut bacteria and positive effect on cholesterol and triglyceride levels) however, I noticed within a week that my blood pressure had reduced significantly. In week two, I stopped my BP medication and monitored daily. I have since seen my GP who has confirmed I no longer need my BP medication.
Nothing else in my diet or lifestyle has changed so I can only assume the LDL cholesterol & triglyceride levels have reduced due to this product.
An improvement has also been noted with acne, with a number of people commenting on my clearer complexion.
It is easy to add to anything, doesn’t affect the taste or texture.
I recommend this product whole heartedly, although would not recommend anyone stop their BP medication without the okay from their professional.
