I was looking for a USB-C Hub adapter that I could use with my laptop which only has two USB slots. This one works very well for me and it’s compatible with my Huawei laptop. By using this device, 5 USB ports in total are available to use. Overall, I am happy with the product and I would recommend to anyone who is in search of a multiport adapter.

The NOVOO USB C Hub has proven to be an invaluable tool in my tech arsenal. Its standout feature is undoubtedly its universal compatibility. It effortlessly connects to any device with a USB-C input, significantly expanding its connectivity options. Whether it’s for a MacBook, iPad Pro, or a Windows laptop, this hub integrates seamlessly without any compatibility issues.

I tested its versatility by connecting a range of peripherals. The HDMI port allowed for a smooth connection to my notebook’s display. Additionally, the inclusion of multiple USB ports meant I could easily connect a keyboard, mouse, and an external hard drive simultaneously. This expanded functionality is particularly useful for anyone looking to enhance their device’s connectivity, especially when dealing with limited built-in ports.

The hub’s USB 3.0 port is a standout for high-speed charging, making it incredibly convenient to charge my phone quickly. This is a significant advantage for anyone needing to power up their devices in a hurry.

From a design perspective, the NOVOO USB C Hub scores high marks. It’s compact and lightweight, making it a perfect companion for on-the-go usage. It fits effortlessly into my laptop bag or carry case, ensuring I have access to expanded connectivity wherever I go.

In terms of overall experience, this hub has been great. It’s reliable, efficient, and adds significant functionality to my devices without any fuss. The fact that it’s so portable yet powerful makes it a top choice for anyone looking to enhance their device’s capabilities.

In conclusion, I highly recommend the NOVOO USB C Hub. It’s an excellent product that offers great value through its versatility, portability, and high performance. Whether for personal or professional use, this hub is an essential accessory for anyone looking to expand their device’s connectivity.

Very sleek, feels high quality. Always useful to have more ports, especially the HDMI which I’m using to connect a second monitor to my MacBook.

Don’t need any extra drivers or anything, just works plug and play.

Per the headline, this ‘just works’ with both Windows 10+ and Ubuntu Linux, detected as a USB 1a40:0101 Terminus Technology Hub and a 25a4:9311 USB C video adaptor.

Translated, this means that If your device can do video over USB C, this will be detected as another display with no need for any drivers to be installed, as well as providing several more USB ports.

The downsides are that the plastic body isn’t nearly as nice as the similarly priced many metal alternatives and many of those also offer things like SD card reading and/or an ethernet port.

A lightweight, portable hub, ideal for work, travel and home use to fast charge devices from your MacBook/laptop, transfer data or connect other machines, such as a DVD player or to a TV.

Ideal for MacBooks, especially ones which only have one port or when needing to transfer data quickly to a memory stick. There are five ports in the USB-C dock — 2 x USB-A 2.0 (480Mbps), 1 x USB-A 3.0 (5Gbps, perfect for fast transfer of data), 1 x USB-C and 1 x HDMI. This means that you can stream from your Mac (or other laptop) to your TV, especially ideal if, like me, your TV doesn’t have as good broadband reception as your MacBook/laptop. It’s a gamechanger!

For the money this is a really good hub, and it has pretty much everything I need in one little unit.

My main use is when travelling, so it is good that this isn’t too big, as it easily fits into my bag, doesn’t take up much room, but is always there when I need it.

The hub comes with three USB-C ports, which is more than enough for me, and gives me a chance to charge my phone, tablet, and e-reader all at the same time.

I really liked that there’s a pass-thru 100w PD port, as that means I’m not draining my laptop when I am using the hub to charge other devices, in fact, my laptop is charging up at the same time, so it is a win-win.

The HDMI port works perfectly on my Macbook Air for connecting the laptop to a TV via an HDMI cable, which means when I am in a hotel room I can watch whatever I like via my laptop, rather than having to mess around with the hotel TV. That’s assuming the TV in the hotel room has an HDMI port of course, but luckily a lot do these days.

The 5 gbps through-out in the USB-C 3.0 is handy to have on the rare occasion I need to transfer a lot of data to a hard drive. It is particularly useful for large video files which can take forever on a a slower USB connection.

And of course, it is USB-C so it plugs straight into my Macbook Air without needing any adapters, and as there are two USB-C ports on my Macbook Air, it means I still have a spare one, as I can plug the charger directly into the hub.

Is it the best hub ever. Definitely not as there as some amazing hubs out there. Is it a good hub for the money. Absolutely. It is excellent value, and will be more than enough for most people.

This little USB-C hub comes in a nice little box and feels about as solid as I would expect, being made of plastic. But it doesn’t feel cheap. The USB ports work well, although I did experience a couple of issues. One of the USB 3.0 slots would not detect hardware being connected, but disconnecting the hub itself with the device still plugged into the port, and then reconnecting the hub worked. The same thing happened with the USB-C port. I don’t know whether this was a fault just with the item I received, or whether it is a wider issue with these devices in general. Although it ultimately didn’t affect functionality too much.

But it did what was required, although given those couple of minor issues, I would probably not pay over a tenner.

    Cable length including plug: 220mm
    Device L/W/H: 107mm/28mm/10mm
    Materials: Plastic

Tested with Dell Laptop (Win 11), Apple MacBook Pro 13″ (Sonoma 14.1.1), Apple iPad Pro 12″ (2nd Gen, iPadOS 17.1)

The USB functions are as described, with the blue port being a true 5Gbps data transfer port. The HDMI socket did offer mirror and extend options for the main display (mirror only in the case of the iPad) but I was only able to test to 1080p @ 60hz due to not owning a 4K display.

I did get a slow charging message on the Dell laptop, and a not charging message on the Mac when using a 65W PD charger and suitable USB-C cable. I used a cable with power delivery monitor which showed an expected power draw from the charger. Leaving the power plugged in a few minutes did clear the message on the Mac but not on the Dell. Irrespective of the messages displayed, both laptops did charge.

The design of the main unit looks like brushed metal but it is in fact a metallic effect plastic. This does allow the device to be lightweight but will compromise the durability of the unit.

If you need a quick way of attaching a keyboard, mouse, monitor and external storage to your laptop, and you are on a budget then this hub will suit your needs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bargain USB-C Hub

There are 5 aspects of this device advertised.

    1. USB Power Delivery pass through port up to 100W
    2. USB C Port to connect to a host device — PC, Laptop or Smartphone for instance
    3. Two USB 2 A Ports
    4. One USB 3 A Port
    5. HDMI Output Port

    1. The USB Power Delivery Port is somewhat strangely specified in the listing, given as 100W Input and 87 W Output. This would beg the question — ‘What’s happened to the other 13W?’

However, I couldn’t get this to work. Using a 30W Fast Charger plugged into this hub the resulting output to the device was the normal USB slow charge rate. It would appear that the hub doesn’t communicate back to the charger that it supports Fast Charging. Of course there are a number of standards for Fast Charging mine being DART/VOOC, so others may work — mine didn’t.

Devices that support the USB Power Delivery Port should work but I couldn’t test this.

    2. The Two USB 2 A Ports work OK and could connect a memory key and an external 2.5inch hard drive to the host device without any additional power that some hubs require.

    3. The USB 3 A Port works ok and could connect a memory key and an external 2.5inch hard drive to the host device without any additional power that some hubs require.

    4. HDMI Port. Unfortunately I couldn’t get the USB C to HDMI interface to work. I suspect this is due to my devices – Smartphone and Windows PC not supporting the Display Port Alt Mode. The Windows PC did at least identify the Video Adapter.

    In Summary —

If you’re expecting this to allow fast charging of your host while you have the hub connected to other USB devices, it will only do so if the device supports the USB PD standard

If you want to use USB C to HDMI first check that your host device supports the Display Port Alt Mode.

The listing description should indicate that this function will only work with devices that support the Display Port Alt Mode. Regrettably not all devices indicate that their USB C ports are Display Port Alt Mode compatible, so you may need to check the specification of your device and even then it may not tell you.
