This is a great machine and appears to be fairly accurate. I have a cheap 20 Cazon BP monitor and both give similar readings. Is one more accurate than the other? It’s hard to tell exactly but on my tests the Omron appeared to give a closer range between readings (+/-3 units) at 2 minute intervals whereas the Cazon would occasionally give a wider range of readings. On average there was a difference of 4 units between both machines.
I bought the Omron X7 mainly for Afib detection which is a nice feature to have, especially for older people. The cuff is comfortable to wear and so easy to put on. Just put your hand through the hole and slide the cuff up your arm.
The device itself is of high quality. I like the dual screen. It shows you your last two readings and the date and time your took them. The app is great and contains lots of useful information and keeps a log of your readings. It can also remind you when to take your readings. But is it all really necessary?
If you only want to check your blood pressure daily and don’t want all the extra features then consider a cheaper model. If Afib detection is important for you and then I highly recommend it.

It has a nice large and clear display which shows your current and previous reading. I was told by my doctor to take 3 readings in 1 sitting with 5 minutes between each reading. I switch the unit on and take the first reading straight away. I find the first reading is rarely recorded on the machine or my mobile but the next 2 readings are recorded. It is larger than I thought it would be. I use a mains power supply from a previous Omron BP reader which I prefer rather than batteries.
It was a little fiddly getting my mobile to pair to it via bluetooth but not diffucult and eventually connected.

Overall I am happy with it and like that it can record readings to my phone that I can then email to the doctor or my self as a backup.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSuperb piece of kit, same as what the medical professionals use at my Dr’s. Accurate, well made and feels good quality, I use this at home and take the wrist version away with me, their readings are virtually the same and they sync to the app perfectly for my logs to show the clinic. Well recommended.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersVery impressive piece of kit. We found it simple to use and had no problems connecting to our iPhones. By following the instructions.

So far it effortlessly updates the iPhones automatically and you can also link it to your iPhone watch/health app to get a complete health picture in one place. You should note that you should wait 10 minutes before commencing the second reading and if you take it to quickly the iPhone will not update the second reading.

Contrary to some reviews, you can use the defib mode and it records it in the same way without the need for the premium service (which is free for 6 months). I think some people have got confused because it offers a free app on your phone similar to the defib function if you have the premium service.

Checked independent health web sites and this make/model is top for accuracy, so overall well pleased.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersYes, it was expensive compared to others at a quarter of the price but it is accurate, easy to use and retains the historical records. It alerted my daughter-in-law that her BP was going too high. Knowing this led to her being admitted to the hospital for pre-eclampsia. And after the baby was born she continued to use it so that her medication could be gradually reduced until her BP stabilised. An investment that saved her life and that of her baby. Priceless.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDebated which brand to go for but wanted a monitor that could integrate with Google fit and Samsung health to put my blood pressure data in these apps.
Went with this, was easy to setup and use and sync. Would recommend and glad I didn’t go with the cheaper, uncertified alternatives and allows me to monitor my blood pressure reliably.
Only flaw is it isn’t very portable as is quite large, not an issue for me but may be for others.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLike other customers, I just simply could not connect to my BP machine, the whole reason why I bought this expensive model. However, tonight, I decided to try again.
I read the instructions more carefully and found that I had my BP monitor turned on before when I was trying to pair it to my iPhone. When pairing you have to turn the Omron off, but not at the electric plug.
Download the app (Omron Connect) from the internet (App Store for Apple iPhone) on your mobile device.
Fill in Country location, your name, your email and create a password. Click on their web site underlined in blue to send your details. Then confirm the message that they send to confirm the email. Turn off options you don’t like, ie. Marketing, location and storage etc.
Make sure that bluetooth option on my mobile is switched on. Keep the Omron Connect App. open after you have downloaded it and logged into the site through the mobile, as instructed by them.
With the Omron switched off, press the blue tooth button on the top back of the machine and hold it down for up to five seconds.
I have NOT allowed location for security reasons but it still worked.
When you have confirmed your name etc. from the email sent by Omron, you turn on the machine as you would normally, take a reading sitting up, staying still and not having done exercise or eaten shortly before. Automatically, through the Omron Connect App open on your mobile screen, you will see the connection. it read my machine and the data was sent to my iPhone within the Omron Connect app.
I had to repeat the reading 10 mins. later and it appeared automatically under the right time of day, ie. evening. You have to do the two readings for consistency. The other option was morning. Mine were both done in the evening.
I know others have had difficulty with saving the readings. I have taken a screen shot of mine which will be dated by Apple. I have not agreed to use their ‘cloud’ storage.
My big mistake before was not to switch off the machine as I was trying to pair it.
I have been using my machine for many months and could not get.a date but once connected to their App, I was set up.
Hope that this might help some people and is not a repeat of other people’s reviews. I would give a better rating if I had not had to decline their options etc. Hope that I do not have to update the App as others found it hard. You do have to back up your own readings if you do not use their subscription service. Good luck!

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersFirst the positive: Great device good looking design, easy to set up and use, readings appear accurate, lightweight, portable, easily links up with the app on your phone via Bluetooth.
Now the not so good: the device come with batteries (all well and good), but the device has mains connectivity but no mains lead is provided. I bought the mains lead separately. Now this is my main criticism: the case for the device does not have space to accommodate the mains lead. Why design a case like this? This is the reason for my 4-star rating and not 5-star.
