    yummy 🍓
astes a bit like a McDonald’s milkshake! I’m a vegetarian so it’s good for me to use to get my protein in, and it’s genuinely so delicious it mixes pretty well, too, I mix with a whisk and it does leave little lumps of powder but I’m pretty sure that’s my fault!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersTastes creamy and smooth , no aftertaste
I use this to help me lose weight .. I can’t calorie count , it leave me open to many wrong choices .. so I use this as a shake during the day with lots of additives to it ( avocado , fruit , healthy seeds and nuts , sugar free peanut butter , protein yogurt , kale and spinach among a few items ) I stick to the vanilla as I can have green shakes or fruit shakes without the flavour interfering. There’s no aftertaste, no funny taste in the mouth .. I make it up using almond milk and water .. add lots of ice into your chosen cup ( I use a double walled cup to keep it cold ) .. it’s very filling ..

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersDecent budget protein powde
The flavour is quite mild and not super sweet which I like. And let’s face it, we’re not drinking these for the taste.

Many reviews say it doesn’t mix well but I’ve found if I’m mixing it with water (I don’t use milk), I put the water in first, add the powder, shake it, leave it 2 mins then shake again. It mixes fine with that technique, if you leave it longer it thickens up more.

All in all, it’s a decent budget protein power that doesn’t upset my stomach like many do. There are better protein powders out there but not at this price.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersBetter and cheaper than SlimFas
Bought this as an alternative to slimfast. Slimfast has been the go-to product for years in the effort to aid weight loss while exercising. Of late though their product tastes pretty awful. It’s not a pleasant experience at all. It’s also not generally that good value either seeing as it’s generally about 8 for 14 servings. Purchased PhD chocolate flavour for about 13 and it claims to provide 32 servings. I believe I’ve had a little more than that out of it. Currently can be had around 20 so I guess that puts it comparible with SlimFast pricing right now – but worth keeping an eye out for offers.

The beauty of this product is it tastes quite nice and just mixes with water. It’s easier enough to shake and mix and goes down a treat. So far it seems to be doing the job, no complaints and I’m already on the second bag!

I don’t like milkshakes but put on a stone since stopped smoking so needed all the help I can get. Had this for 4 days now and normally I’m going round the office snaffling everyone’s food. Every night takeawys but not hungry at all. Made my husband tea and he actually ate it without
me eating mine and his. Not even bothered now and it tastes beautiful. If this is 4 days I can’t wait to see in a month! X

    Best protein eve
I constantly order this protein .Best protein I have tasted. I lack protein and drink 2 shakes a day and I enjoy them. I like the vanilla just cause I can change what I make it with.

Golden Review Award: 46 From Our UsersFlavour & texture are acceptable. I've certainly had worse too!!
*** (Updated review from 20/09/17. I’ve now been using this product on an as required basis for a year. It continues to be of help & I’m certainly happy with it.) ***

Due to extreme pain, disability, long term chronic health issues & the awful side effects of the required prescription meds involved; a normal healthy/balanced diet became exceptionally difficult to maintain. Obviously this is FAR from ideal & the situation as a whole was, & still is a concern. I often have to resort to using different types of supplements as substitutes to important dietary requirements which is not a good place to be at all, however, a whey protein powder was the logical option to cover that particular aspect. Importantly, any weight gain also needed to be avoided or better still, a protein supplement that could actively aid weight loss. (Thankfully this product has helped in that regard.) I very quickly settled upon this “PhD nutrition diet whey protein powder” after a short trial period, & after months testing multiple competing products. All things considered it’s pretty good stuff. I still have a couple of minor niggles but they’re observations more than criticisms to be fair, (many possibly won’t even notice them at all)!! I generally mix up a double serving more as a brunch in place of any breakfast or lunch. This keeps me feeling full right through to the evenings & it helps to stop me snacking in the interim. (I really can’t comment on it giving any additional energy, etc., my situation as a whole frequently causes significant fatigue making it incredibly difficult to gauge any such benefit.) Ordering via Amazon Prime works out at roughly 15 per kg which is a very good deal. I also purchased a “600ml PhD mix-ball shaker” as part of a package deal with a 2kg tub & it was a lot better than a shaker I already had. (Well worth the deal if you don’t already have a shaker, or if you don’t own, want or need a blender.)

    1) Flavour. (Whilst obviously ALWAYS completely subjective), I wasn’t expecting anything exceptional following the other products I had previously tried out, (especially with this being more of a “diet” option too). However, it certainly surpassed my expectations & it’s not unpleasant at all, (I particularly like the Belgian choc or vanilla flavours). When mixed with water alone the shakes can taste just a little powdery but they’re still perfectly acceptable as such. (ALL of the other powders I tried were far worse.) Ergo, I often make my shakes using (50/50) water & semi skimmed milk respectively, or 100% SS milk. Either option using milk completely removes the powdery flavour. Adding in any spare fruits or a touch of Greek yoghurt helps too if you blend.
2). Texture. It can also be a little gritty when mixed with water alone, even more so if consumed immediately after mixing. Using milk, or a mix of water & milk (as above) eliminates this issue, however, using milk can make the shakes quite a bit thicker. If mixed with water alone I leave my shakes to stand for 20 mins before consumption which also helps to minimise any grittiness. Again, It’s not a huge issue & it remains more than acceptable to me in comparison to competitors products. Inevitably, I get a few tiny lumps that just won’t break down when mixing using a shaker too, although they’re not large enough to be a problem. Whatever the case, my shakes or blends still go straight down the hatch with no complaints.
3). Storage & longevity. The shelf life of the goods I’ve continually received directly from Amazon have always been a minimum of 22 months, (previous smaller batches sourced elsewhere barely had 4 months shelf life). It’s a fresh product that will certainly last if (for example) you’re alternating between 2 or more flavours purchased in bulk. A VERY thin external plastic anti-tamper seal is applied but there’s no seal under the lids. The 2 kg tubs really are quite sizeable & some may well struggle with sufficient storage space. (I’ve included a photo of the 2 kg tub next to a universally sized 1 litre bottle for reference should it be of use.) On the plus side, the tubs are incredibly tough & robust. Once empty they’re ideal for repeated reuse such as transferring in powders sourced in cheaper refill bags. The lids form a good seal to keep the powder within dry & fresh. A “single serving” sized plastic scoop IS INCLUDED, (you may just need to use something to fish around for it in the tubs as they can become well & truly buried from transit, etc.).

All in all, it’s a decent product despite some minor observations. To my mind it’s a whole lot better than competing products of a similar price & it’s certainly as good or better than some more expensive whey powders too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, (just ensure you order a flavour you REALLY like if you’re going to buy in bulk as 2 kg can go a long way depending on individual usage). Despite the observations I still rate it 5/5 & I’ll certainly be continuing to purchase it.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersYummy & good for you!
I really love this diet whey protein powder. I have been using this brand for 1 month and have only tried the Belgian chocolate flavour which is always my go to flavour, and this has such a great taste but I’m braving it today and have ordered the strawberry. When I was a kid there was a dessert called angel delight which was a powder you whisked with milk and chilled in the fridge and it was a thick pudding and the taste of this shake reminds me of that. It really satisfies my sweet tooth.

My advice tips to make this shake its best is start with a good shaker bottle as it makes all the difference. There are a load of shakers but after trying 4 different styles the one to to find is with a sieve thing (it’s really a 1/2 centimeter square grid pattern) and it justs clicks in the top (about an inch down the open lip of the cup) I have a very ‘cute 700ml black colour shaker (I don’t mind it’s not clear) and it has a dome lid so it has plenty of room above and below the sieve to shake (hence the 700ml size). It’s so so much better than a small shaker and I won’t get started on shakers with the ball as they never fully get rid of lumps. I shake it for 90 seconds as not only does it mix it really well it helps dissolve the powder so it is never unmixed and will never leave you with a powdery aftertaste, which for me shows its a bad mixer and not because the powder won’t mix properly. I know using a blender will give a great smooth texture but I am rarely near one for day to day use. This powder is also great made into a smoothy with a few berries etc and what’s perfect for me is you don’t have to use a banana as the smoothy base as the powder has a thickener.

The chocolate flavour is so good that it covers the taste of the extra milled flaxseed I add to my shake. At the moment I use this shake mainly for breakfast so I choose to have the 350ml size and use 50% lactose free SS milk and 50% water – I love mine very cold and I drink it within about 10 minutes of it being made so it stays really cold. I think my 50/50 mix gives a great consistency, some reviews have said it’s too thick and when it’s measured and made perfectly it is a shake on the slightly thicker side but i don’t think it’s gloopy and honestly just customise it for your own tastes and let it out with more liquid but adding a bit at the time!
A good tip if you make yours before the gym/workout to have ready as you finish, make it as you would normally or even slightly thicker and as you leave pop some ice cubes in (you’d have to trial how many) and they’d melt during your workout and by the time you’re ready they will have melted, given you the liquid for your preferred consistency, so another few shakes just how you like it and the bonus it will be nicely chilled!

I’ve lost count of how many powders I’ve tried and this Belgian chocolate really comes out on top by a long shot in flavour, consistency, price, amount of protein, vitamins and the specialised combination of nutrients. It leaves me feeling full for a good 4 hours and I’m loosing weight. Perfect! Definitely recommend.
