Nice shaver, c-type charging. Purchased to replace worn out 25 year old Philishave model with mains charging. Slightly heavier, but attractive design with additional head movement. Very fast shave, too soon to judge battery life. Good value. Very quiet and gives good, close shave very fast.
Long battery life per charge
Ok, so I should probably start by saying I’ve never been a huge fan of electric/ battery shavers. I’m old school and I still use soap, brush and straight razor. I’m also of a vintage…. and with age, comes a degree of laziness dressed up as convenience. I’ve always found shaving a pain, but I’m lucky enough not to need to shave every day. I still work full time and need to be presentable at meetings, so shaving is still essential. I love this razor. I bought it on a whim, but it’s so conveniently helpful. As long as stubble isn’t too long, I can be done in minutes. It’s easy to clean, easy to charge, and gives a really close shave. You can also use to wet shave, though I haven’t tried. The battery lasts all week. Spares are easy to get hold of, and I got it at a discount on the shaver. I have not experienced any of the issues in the negative reviews, but will keep an eye on battery life. All in all, it’s an awesome product. Highly recommended.
I’ve been wet shaving for many, many years. I recently damaged my left hand that is healing well, but was awkward with things such as shaving. I read all the reviews and decided on the 3000 model. Just used it for the first time. Very close shave! Comparable to wet; I was very surprised, also surprised at how quiet the 3000 was. Very pleased! I chose the 3000 over the 3000X as the 3000 is heavier and appeared a bit more robust. I’ve yet to try the wet/shaving foam; all very different to the noisy electric shavers I remember. Would have liked a storage pouch though.
The shaver is very good.
Seems to cut the hair really close to the face and you can shave with ease. The head of the shaver is moulding so it forms around the contours of the face as your shaving. The blades are top quality and you can use this shaver wet or dry. Also the battery is built into the shaver so you can shave for a bit of time without it running flat. The battery seems to last a bit of time. Only thing I would say is a bit disappointing is you can’t shave while charging the device. And the charging cable that comes with it is a Usb rather then a socket plug. It’s a shame they didn’t include an adapter for plugging it into a house mains socket. Even if it was a two pin. But the shaver is excellent build quality and works really well. I bought this shaver because I couldn’t get any blades for my cut throat razor. It’s been really good so far. It also has a side burns trimmer for tidy cutting and shaping on the corner of the razor aswell. The feel of the razor is really comfortable aswell, it’s got a rubber comfortable feel as you hold it. Very impressed with the Phillips 3000 series and would definitly buy again. Would recommend it 100%. I usually use cut throat razors but couldn’t get any so bought this instead. Was a great buy and worth the money.
Let’s be honest. A foil razor is definitely a closer shaver but the foils don’t last that long.
For me when I’ve replaced a foil it never seems as good as the original one.
So I’ve taken the plunge and had this rotary shaver.
Now I know its not quite as close a shave but this one comes very close for me.
I picked this one because the charge and usage time hit a happy medium.
Then you’ve got a quality shaver with years of refinement making it the best its going to get.
So I’ve used this twice now and the rotary heads just float across the skin with ease.
The shaver sounds fairly quiet and definitely sounds slower than my old foil shaver.
It’s incredibly light and easy to hold.
I take my time and its fine.
Cuts really well and the skin is smooth enough.
The awkward areas it handles well and I haven’t had any issues with slight nicks unlike the foil shaver I had.
Value for money at the price I’ve paid is good.
Admittedly its not the cheapest but knowing the companies past you can rest assured its built well.
I did consider cheaper and more expensive but cheaper makes me think it wouldn’t last and then more expensive I couldn’t justify it.
I looked at the cost of replacing the heads and they are well priced.
A more expensive shaver the heads do cost quite alot more than I am willing to pay.
Then cheaper shavers I couldn’t find any heads to replace a few and when I did the quality is unknown.
If your wondering about the foil shaver I had it was a braun and to be fair it has done me proud.
This shaver was a change as I wanted something different and not because the old braun was bad as it definitely wasn’t.
If like me you want value for money then this is a good choice in my opinion.
There is a really good plus point and that was the usb charging capability.
This is a game changer.
Any usb outlet and I’ve even used my battery bank which works fine.
So rest assured, like they always say. You get what you pay for.

First electric razo
Ordered this from my hospital bed once I realised I’d be in hospital for a while. Thought that this was the right price for an entry level razor product and purchased based upon previous reviews. It’s slow compared to a wet shave and not as close, but it definitely did the trick, easily taking off a week’s growth on the first use.
The battery does last.
A few reviews suggest the battery doesn’t last ..Not for me. Used it every day for three weeks and it’s still going strong. Other complaint was that it doesn’t shave as well as the old 1000 series. Jury still out. It was quieter but that may mean it’s a better constructed machine. It does shave better than my 1000 series shaver. However it’s a new blade against an old blade. So need to wait on that one. The auxiliary long hair cutter was said by some to be a disappointment. It actually worked well.
Finally price. Very competitive but look out for any special offers at your boots store. You
Good Value for money
Am user of Phillips razors, made a change but quickly went back. This is a good product and gives a close shave. Sounds a bit slow but I have got used to this.
Gives a nice clean shave
This is the second one of these I have purchased. I lost the first one after several years of daily use. Quick to charge, easy to clean and lasts a long time on a charge.
The Bes
I have had many three head razors, both Philips and Remington. This is the by far the best do far. I have a tough beard, and this razor deals with it brilliantly. Excellent.
just the job
This was a present for my husband he has had a phiips shaver before, in between tried other makes, the other makes did not shave him as good , so he has gone back to old faithful.
Great shaver, a little bulky
Works great, blades seem fairly sharp. Buddy is quite bulky compared with my last shaver but not unduly so. Comes with a bespoke USB cable, shame they couldn’t stick with usb-c so you weren’t stuck if you forget your cable on holiday!
Ver handy for travel too!
Bought this for my husband as his other version of this was not doing the job. This one is great and you you can wash it clean. He is really pleased with it.

Removes facial hair. Not tried removing any other… yet.
I always have Philips shavers as I find their quality and designs practical. The performance is great and really easy to use. My beard hair is fairly thick and it cuts like hot knife through butter.
First time I’ve had a Philips-style shaver in 40 years. It feels a little bit light and flimsy and the electric motor sounds a bit feeble. In terms of results, it’s not as good as a regular foil shaver on the upper lip due to the position and limitations of the rotary cutters, but superior everywhere else on the face. It’s quicker than a foil shaver and shaves very close.
But I’m not giving this 5 stars as:
1. There’s no storage bag included
2. The USB charger uses a proprietary cable and not USB-C, which is ridiculous
3. The Specifications say it’s made in The Netherlands, but it’s not, it’s made in Indonesia
Good value
Nice and lightweight compared with older models and seems to work well. However a USB plug had to be acquired and a very high definition magnifying glass was required to read t he sheets of the microscopic printing together with a good knowledge of European languages. The instructions for use were confusingly diagrammatic but fortunately to those familiar with such devices the parts and their uses seemed obvious. There seem to be a promise of some kind of container bag though this had probably been replaced by duplicate sheets of warnings — no matter. On the whole a pleasing product. No ‘Buyers Regret’ !
Reasonable shaver for its price, with no carry case. Shaver has a tendency to pull the skin but on average is ok, I had expected better quality product from this well known brand. Quick delivery.
Had Phillips shavers for years, then changed to Panasonic but the replacement foil/cutter was dreadful and it was Panasonic product. Switched back to Phillips looking for a reasonable priced shaver this fitted the requirement.
Arrived and I was surprised how good the shave was, no pulling or sore face, easy to wash out, battery lasts a reasonable time and has a trimmer built in, nice to hold, in all I am very surprised the quality matches shavers that cost in excess of 150.00. What’s not to like!
