I don’t have enough words for this device.. the amount you will learn about yourself from one weigh in is scary, you used to have to go to your Dr’s and get tests done to learn this stuff. Has helped me to completely change my lifestyle and diet, meaning im now watching the lbs drop off. From body fat % to breaking down visceral from skeletal, BMR to Metabolic Age.. take all of it with a pinch of salt as you have to question how it can know all that from a simple electric pulse your body (which you dont feel of course). But a truly brilliant way to stay on top of your health and wellness. Will be buying the rest of the range at this rate! Already ordered and waiting on the food scales, blood pressure monitor next!
lost so much weight since buying this scale, as it makes you think what you are eating to balance your diet. it also encourages you to exercise to meet your targets/goals.
worth the money
I had to replace my previous version of the Renpho scales due to me breaking the bottom of the old ones. These new ones need a different app compared to the old ones, but moving my data over was really simple. The new app is very similar to the old one, mainly feels like a UX change. Only downside I find is the scales are slightly smaller than the previous model – so with size 12 feet I only just fit into the scales.
Really good set of scales, I’m quite overweight and tall – but they take my weight and are a perfect fit. If you move the scales you just need to step on it and off for it to recalculate, which does really quickly, otherwise you can just step on them to weigh yourself.
I really like the app. It connected really easily And you just tap on it to say you want to measure your weight and it shows you what your scales are saying. It’s got some nice features especially being able to manually put in historical data and a really good goal setting feature that shows percentage achieved in a pie chart which is nice to see. Some really great features in measuring different aspects such as bone density, muscle mass et cetera, beyond what other apps have done in the past.
I wanted to link my historical weight to my goals (rather than the default one on the day of me setting the goal ) and I contacted Customer Services – they were extremely helpful, polite and replied within minutes. They sent some helpful screenshots and even thanked my thank you! Email! I would recommend this company based on their Customer Services alone – but glad to say that the scales and the app are also really good!
It’s cheap, beautiful to watch and perfectly functional! I have already suggested it to few of my friends and I cannot recommend this enough!
What is great about it is the paired app. It’s intuitive, simple to use and the visuals and stats in the app are simple and accurate. Few seconds to install, works beautifully with iPhones and give all you need from fat content, visceral fat, bmi, protein and so on…
In 1 week I have already lost 2.3kg thanks to this.
Fast delivery and great packaging.
The best!
Scale works very well with the app, connection is seamless and very quick. Don’t expect miracles with body fat measurement since no scale like this will ever be exact, but this does seem to work well to measure trends in time.
Negative: the app gives some weird/wrong data, especially in terms of muscle mass (it will vastly exagerate muscle mass to impossible numbers).
Paired with app they keep a useful track of body weights, body fat content etc. Of course, apart from the weight, it’s all a bit of an estimate. My only criticism is the scales themselves are a little small for my size eleven feet. Tips of toe and heel are both off the sides. The calibration is easy to use and the app works well
I know a device like this might not be 100% accurate but believe these days these types of gadgets are very close.
I’m a slim petite woman in my late 50’s. All but one of my 13 readings on these scales were good or acceptable thankfully, but I was shocked to find my BODY FAT PERCENTAGE was in the ‘obesity’ high rating. I tested this single result against an older hand held device (that only tests 4 things that I hadn’t used for a long time) with an almost identical reading to within 0.3.
There are more results on this device than I’ve personally seen before which I think are all useful. This has been an invaluable wake up call for me to do something about my one high reading. Great to have the results on an APP that are easy to read. I highly recommend these scales.
I was looking for scales that would give me a bit more information than just my weight. I’ve always had standard scales before and don’t always find them motivating when I know I’ve eaten in a healthy way!
These scales were exactly what I wanted, they give a breakdown of more than just your weight. Each category is displayed in a colour so at a glance you can see what area you may need to focus on. For example my water composition was low (red in colour) so I could see I needed to get that to a green percentage. There’s a breakdown of your body composition including visceral fat, protein, bone mass etc.
The thing I found most interesting (and useful) was the colour coding of the info, green for good through to red for unhealthy. I had no idea what my visceral fat target should be but the colours make it clear.
Batteries were included, set up took less than a minute after downloading the app (also simple as QR code included in instruction book).
The scale itself is very light and slim. It weighs in kg which I have never liked, I knew this prior to purchasing but decided to go with it as the reviews are so positive for this item. As previous customers have said you can switch the kg to stone or pounds in the app. To be honest once you have jumped off the scales it’s the app you view everything in so the fact that the scales show kg became irrelevant as I simply toggled my app to show stone/pound. If you are wanting the scales just to show your weight and aren’t interested in the body mass then these scales aren’t for you. However if like me you want a little more motivation and visual “reward” for your efforts with being healthy then I recommend these scales.
This has worked well for me. One caveat is that on occasion you will get an inaccurate result – I find measuring twice and taking the second result leads to accurate results (ie the same as other scales when checked).
Bluetooth pairing is easy, the muscle/fat percentages seem about right, and the app is better than expected.
I have never been obsessed with measuring my weight before this scale arrived in my home! What an interesting and accurate measurements, whether you are trying to loose weight or not gaining it. This scale helps to understand your body composition and it can be useful tool to have while following a gym training or exercise in general.
I bought this to measure up all my weight stats as I’ve not had one of these scales before so this is very useful for that, the only issue I find is I want my weight measurement in stones and pounds but the scales only do pounds or kg, so the only way you can see stones and pounds is on the app which is an extra step just to see the weight but I probably use the app to check the other stats anyway so not too much of an issue
Once unboxed this scale is quick to set up and we had no issue connecting it up to the app. As far as weighing scales go it’s a good one.
Not a paid review
Simple to us and set up, just download the app from the instructions leaflets
The scales itself are battery powered, feel well made and more importantly are accurate (as long as the floor is level) there is also a host of biometrics that the scales analyses like bone and muscle mass as well as hydration but you must use the scales bare footed and have the app installed (the scales display you weight) display screen could be bigger but that’s a personal choice and it’s fine on the scales
The scales then send the info so you can view via the app where your progress is tracked
Furthermore the app has a social aspect as well as other additional features recipes and user generated content.
The app is comparable with myfitness and a lot of other health tracking apps including apple health and Samsung.
On the less positive side the scales are small I’m a size 9 and someone with bigger feet may struggle but I’d assume they struggle with everything else like steps etc
Overall the scale work, track accurately and if you like the biometrics etc then this is the scales for you.
Price point was not to bad, I think I paid 28-30 and for the app support , connectivity and the additional biometrics you really can complain.
I am size 9 and the scales fit my feet with probably a size to spare. If you have larger feet then this may not be for you.
Here are my pros:
Nice black glass finish
Compact
Appears accurate (haven’t tested it)
Consistent
The app is a great way to track a variety of different health features
Cons:
The scale ONLY shows in lbs… No way to change to kg or stones (but you can change on the app it just won’t show on the scales.)
Takes a good few seconds for the app to conduct the various readings (but to be fair it isn’t a major issue)
Can’t work out how to show by default a comparison from the previous day (you have to choose a day and it remembers it.)
All in all, I’m very pleased with it. I just do not like how the scales only shows lbs as sometimes I don’t want to connect my app I just want a quick weigh. This means I have to do some maths to understand my weight as I only do stones.
If you can deal with that then I recommend this.
I have been using the RENPHO scales and app for a number of weeks, and comparing alongside a similar set of scores down at the local gym.
In regards to the product itself – it’s a very discreet, slim scale. I wouldn’t recommend if you are on the plus side in regards to weight and size! I am size 10 feet however, and I just about fit on the scale. The build quality is great, with a nice black glass finish.
The display is easy to read, and change in regards to what type of units you would like to see. Everything else is done through the app which is readily available for download on your app store. The app itself is easy to use, and all I do is make sure the app is turned on when I step on the scale, and everything is uploaded automatically. (I little Bluetooth logo appears on the scale to show you it is connected. The app then plays a little jingle to notify you the upload is complete).
In regards to accuracy – weight wise it is pretty much spot on with what the gym scales are saying! You could pay more for a scale that only displays weight, so the fact you are getting other body measurements too is a bonus. The other measurements such as BMI, Body fat, water weight etc. are all fairly accurate to what the gym scales show – but I would bare in mind that no scales will ever truly get these accurate.
All in all, a great little package. Very happy with the purchase, after sales and customer support has been superb too!
