The glass mouse matt really helps with speed and accuracy, BUT, any dust particles that are on the surface are noticeable and impede movement. If you keep your desk super clean you will have no problems.
Really good mouse pad. Would recommend over a cloth pad any day of the week. However on my unit part of the pad close to the edges has a slightly more rough texture than the center.
Otherwise all around great purchase.
Beat every high score on aimlabs day one the durability seems to be amazing too as I dropped it on stones by accident whilst taking the order inside but this has improved my gameplay tenfold tysm skypad xl
Excellent glide with any PTFE mouse skates, easy to clean since it’s made of glass (also doesn’t absorb sweat the same way a cloth pad would)
If you care about improving your aim and having top performance from any mouse you get, this is what you go for. The only thing you have to worry about is hair and dust getting on the pad as this will create a scraping feeling when you swipe the mouse across it.But this isn’t a big deal as you can wipe it off with your hand and you’ll be fine.
I got sick to death of cloth pads randomly becoming sluggish/inconsistent despite looking perfectly clean. My skypad feels identical to day one after a year of use and is surprisingly controllable for a hard surface. I’m using mine with a G Pro Superlight and Tiger Ice Skates at 35-50cm/360 in various FPS games
Bought this as I was tired of buying cloth pads only to replace them every few years due to degredarion. Having cats means that I frequently need to wipe fur and other foreign substances away from it, which over time causes damage to these pads. With this one being glass, fur wipes away very easily, and skin oil and other substances can be washed away with regular window cleaner. No need to worry about the pad degrading after cleaning.
As for performance (likely the main reason you’d be considering such an expensive mouse pad) it’s great for fast-paced games such as Warzone and Apex: Legends. I honestly thought this pad would ruin my aim in these games, but in fact it only took a few minutes to become acclimatised to the friction (or lack thereof). The pad being the XL version means that you have a generous amount of space for flicks etc, so no need to keep lifting the mouse and moving it back if you like to use a relatively low sensitivity.
Speaking of friction, there is so little of it that games like Counter Strike and Valorant are pretty difficult to play on this pad due to the need for accurate recoil control. I would definitely consider something with more friction if you’re primarily into those sorts of games.
Finally another complaint I have about this pad are the non-slip feet. There are four of them, one in each corner, which means that the pad tends to flex a little when you rest your arm on it. A minor annoyance but it is there. The feet also don’t do a great job at gripping the desk like my previous cloth ones did.
Overall, I’d highly recommend this pad if you’re into faster-paced games where speed is more necessary than accuracy, and also if you’re looking for something that’ll probably never need to be replaced again. It is a very expensive investment but the longevity that it should provide definitely makes it worthwhile.
Yeah as the title said it is a very god product. Only problem I think I have with it is that when my arm or hand start sweating it becomes difficult to control and requires an arm sleever if you wanna game on it. But the glide is very smooth paired with my Tiger ICE mouse skates. So if you are looking for the smoothest glide then yes, this is it. Just be careful and clean it regularly with just water and a fiber cloth. You will feel any of the hair and specs of dust on it.
If you like faster pads then this might be the king of them all. I’ve used a few good quality mousepads being the AquaControl+ Strata, MPC450 and the artisan hayate otsu, but this pad blows them out of the water. It’s an incredibly fast and smooth in surface with a cold touch from the glass instead of traditional cloth. Moving my mouse feels like where I would want to go without interruption of friction that I’d get with any other pad, which makes for a more comfortable aiming experience for me personally.
The skypad is definitely more suited for tracking games such as overwatch or apex legends, however if you are willing to sacrifice quite a bit of stopping power and control that would come with a slow pad like a gsrse then this can be usable for tacfps players, but if you do only play csgo/valorant then there are better alternatives such as the artisan zero or vaxee pa.
If you’re already used to hardpads then you should already know that a pad like this might need you to wear an arm sleeve , because your arm will tend to stick on it, also you should be weary that any bit of dust or dirt that your mouse glides over will feel like rocks so make sure to wipe down the pad so you don’t have that happen while you’re playing.
Overall it’s an insanely great pad, but not for everyone. I recommend that if you have tried fast pads than this will be an interesting experience at the least, however if you have never tried a fast pad then buy an endgamegear MPC450 first as it is very affordable and a great pad in itself which I’d gladly use without a skypad.
Pros:
-Incredibly fast
-Very low dynamic and static friction
-Long lasting (almost infinite durability)
Cons:
-High price
-Might need an arm sleeve to prevent arm from sticking
-Dirt and dust are very noticeable due to the hard surface.
