Good quality
Got this adapter to use on holiday, its made life so much easier. Wo took just this adapter and 4 leads so we can now charge our phones and tablets up at the same time, also its another way of saving on weight.
It’s appears very well made and tough, we were very impressed with the quality and fell its very much worth the money.
Great adapter for travelling or home!
Extra USB ports are always a bonus. The device is useful and feels good quality. I have repurchased another to keep and use in my office.
4 stars is given because it needs a casing; something to store the adapter when not in use.
Very capable.
Despite its low weight, this little charger really packs a punch. I connected it to an electronic load for testing. At no load (zero Amps drawn) the voltage output was 5.1V. At 4.4 Amps drawn from a single socket the voltage dropped to 4.6V but gradually increased to 4.8V. I cranked the current up to 6 Amps (way outside its ratings) from a single socket using the supplied USB A to C adapter and it happily supplied over 5V again. The adapter started to get warm, so I cut the test short.
This is quite an amazing result and I wondered how high it would actually go, it’s supposed to have over current protection. In for a penny, I managed to get it to cut out at about 7.5 Amps. Blimey!
I certainly don’t recommend operating this far outside its envelope but it’s nice to know that it has plenty of headroom. The charger didn’t get hot, just the USB adapter.
There’s a handy fabric pouch included in the box and all the accessories just about fit in together.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good this charger is. Recommended.
Versatile multi-charger for home and away
This isn’t the most high powered multi-charger you can buy since it’s only 22 watts. However, that isn’t particularly a bad thing, since generally higher wattage chargers are also much heavier, so if you want to travel light, this is the plug for you! The four charging ports are all USB-A ones, so if your cables are predominantly USB-C type, you may want to consider other options – or invest in a couple of USB-C to USB-A adaptors (which is what I did). The charger seems to work well – I haven’t measured actual outputs since I’m not technical, but as long as it charges the device that’s plugged into it then I’m happy! Four ports gives you the ability to charge a phone, headphones and other items such as GoPro or sports watch all at the same time without having to find extra power outlets (which are often at a premium in hotels and apartments), and the fact that you can use it with either the European plug or the standard UK one (both provided) means it’s a versatile addition to your electronics setup, whether at home or abroad. Happy to recommend.
Perfec
Lightweight and well made. Will be perfect for those hotel rooms with only one power socket and alleviate the need to carry around multiple adapter plugs. Have already tested out at home and works fine. Understand may not be the fastest charger but absolutely fine for my requirements. Comes with a handy pouch. Highly recommended.
Perfect solution for multiple nationalities
I ordered 4 of these adaptors for a board meeting held in Spain with visitors from the US & UK. Chargers are the one item regularly forgotten OR attendees are scrabbling into their bags for power cables & searching for sockets in the room.
With multiple USB slots this was a great solution to the problem with 4 delegates able to charge ipads & phones at the same time.
ideal for multiple devices
At the time of this review this 4 port USB adaptor is 12.98.
It is currently being used by my wife at the side of the bed to cut down on the amount of chargers that are plugged in.
At 22w and 4.4amps it provides a good amount of power for devices that can accept a faster charge, although it’s not power delivery, so don’t expect super fast charging or powering laptops.
I haven’t had chance to try the travel adaptors yet, but for multi device charging it does the job well.
Great value 4 port quality 4.4Amp charger with handy international adaptors
OK so I’ve tested this in the UK, not had the opportunity to be in the US or Europe to test the adaptor (for the Europe one), the US doesn’t need the adaptor as you just flip out the pins. It’s nice that it comes with a USB A to USB C adaptor and that seems to work well (I’ve already got a few of these spare).
So the UK adaptor fits quite snuggly onto the US type flat pins and seems pretty secure, was easy to slide it off too. The adaptor itself seems quite light, when plugged in there is a power indicator (white) light that’s on the outside to let you know power is flowing through it (could be quite bright at night if using as an overnight charger as many people do). This will be perfect for charging phone, smart watch, kindle and tablet all at the same time. The fact that it’s higher ampage output means that it should charge a little faster than normal.
I’ve noticed that some of the other reviews come with a little travel bag, this one did not so I guess they’ve updated it not to include that (probably to save some costs).
So my wife will use it on her trip to the US soon and I’ll likely use it for trips to US and Europe at some point, appears to be a good fit for our travelling needs and has enough ports to accommodate devices we’ll take with us when we travel.
At this price point and for the quality of the product it’s a really good find.
Test before you travel
I got this to take to Europe with me so I could charge phones, tablets, watches etc at the same time while I was around to keep an eye on them.
It does well with phones and watches and some handwarmers but tablets it really struggles with, took around 6 hours to go from 48 to 56% at which point I changed to another plug. This was trying to charge just the tablet, not other items at the same time.
Recommended for phones and small items but test it out fully if you are planning to charge all your items when away.
Reliable and versatile travel adapte
I recently bought the Travel Adapter 4 USB Universal Charger Plug Adaptor and I’m super happy with it!
It charges really fast — my phone was ready to go in no time. I love that it works with so many devices, including my iPhone and tablet.
I travel a lot, and this adapter is a lifesaver. It has plugs for pretty much every country, so I’m covered no matter where I go. It’s so lightweight and fits right in my backpack.
Charges phones and small devices
The unit is well constructed out of decent materials. The finish is good. This charger will charge your phone or other small devices such as bluetooth speaker, smart watch etc. However, it will struggle with most tablets and definitely not be able to charge a laptop. Additionally the lack of USB-C ports means it is limited to older style USB-A. It does come with an adaptor so you can connect USB-C cables but this seems a bit of an afterthought and having USB-C ports in the device would have been preferable. Additionally I doubt that the ports will be able to fully utilise the faster charging of USB-C, especially when running through an adaptor.
It is good that the plugs for other regions of the world are included and it does make this a true travel charger (if you only travel with a phone..).
The charger is a decent product for what it does but when compared to what else is on the market of a similar size and price it falls short in my opinion. I am giving it 4 stars because it is a decent product, compact and does what it says it will.
Works perfectly
Purchased for a forthcoming Japan trip, with simple clip on adaptors for UK, EU and AUS. Tested in UK and works fine. Comes with a handy carrying pouch. Neat little charger for USB A and USB C
The versatility is great, adaptors for the world so a great travel item and the 4 USB sockets allowed charging all our devices at once. However even with just one device plugged it it does not fast charge – the current specified is total if all 4 are in use. So it’s handy for travel but I will still pack my fast charger and a single adaptor so my phone can be done quickly.
The product looks great, neat and compact for travelling, will save carrying lots of plugs and adaptors. Unfortunately, the delivery was dreadful. Amazon’s delivery e-mail said the item was ‘handed to resident’ – it wasn’t. This was one of two items sent in the same parcel, and one of two parcels I was expecting the same day. I was at home expecting the delivery but no one knocked at the door – they didn’t even bother to open the garden gate and walk the few yards to the front door The parcel was just pushed through the bars of the gate and left on the ground in full view of anyone passing. Luckily it wasn’t raining. Amazon deliveries are notoriously bad, with deliverymen almost never knocking at the door, but this was unbelievable and if it happens again will stop me ordering from Amazon.
This is excellent BUT does not have a end fixture for South Africa ! Three round pins !
I do like this lightweight adaptor , but it did not work for my trip to Cape Town ! I do like the little circle light on the side which tells you if it’s on and working ! Most adaptors don’t have this ! It’s very helpful ! But not fully international !
The four USB ports are super for kindle , phone , iPad and watch ! I need them all ! Great nice bit of kit ! Good price !
This gadget provides multiple usb slots as well as a plug
The gadget comes with a nice storage bag so it is more convenient for carriage. The usb slots will assist anyone using multiple devices whilst travelling especially where there might be limited outlets eg on trains, buses or hotels/campervans!
It also has a separate attachment which will allow phone charging eg Samsung etc as they can be plugged into the USB from phone charger which also limits the restrictions of having the wrong attachments.
Generally well devised but if you are travelling anywhere else other than Australia/UK then you probably would be better advised to get a universal travel plug but if you wanted this to backup/accompany the universal plug for OZ travels it is certainly a good produc
