Good for Cruises
I got this to use as an adapter on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. It worked a treat as it allowed us to use our electrical item as normal, without the lower power issues due 110v when using US adapters. Good quality and flexible.
Good however points to be aware of
Excellent design all positives. The only down side is the pins if in Italy don’t fix all sockets however this was frustrating, well minorly however not the manufacturers fault as Italy has 3 different socket types. So maybe don’t indicate it will work anywhere or provide a additional adapter in this case, however I was never stuck and could find at least one plug that it worked in. All in all a good produc
Good Bit of Ki
Using it as I write this review whilst in Menorca on holiday. Does everything you’re expecting it to, good value for money compact, also having USB ports on one unit is really good.
Perfect European holiday accessory
Fed up cheap EU adaptors that are ” a dodgy fit” and with taking various chargers,EU adaptors for phone,GHDs ,hairdryers and the like so I invested in this double adaptor with three USB sockets
Worked a dream and perfect for sharing for two teenagers. No waiting for phone to charge so they can dry hair …would
Brecommend and I plan to buy a 2nd
The most useful travel plug you can get!
Bought this for our recent holiday to Lanzarote and it was used all the time. We had kindles, iPads and phones with us and it was great to have one charging station where we could have 3 plugged into the USB ports and then we had taken another USB plug which we popped in to enable 6 charges to be happening at once. Lightweight, practical and just one of those things you wonder how you managed without.
Lots of pin types catered for but don't try & charge 7 things at once
I ordered this adapter for charging whilst visiting my Sister-in-law who lives in France.
We don’t generally need to worry about adapters whilst we are there but we have struggled to get things charged whilst on the ferry. I bought a couple of cheap mini USB adapters at the end of last summer but they both got so hot they melted the plastic. It wasn’t worth the risk of getting something similar so I decided to go for this multi-use one instead.
This adapter has 2x 3pin outlets on the front, 2x 2pin outlets on the bottom & 3x USB ports on the top, which should be plenty for a short trip away. There are shutters on both the 3pin & 2pin outlets so they are safer & it is not possible to incorrectly insert a mains plug. The 3pin is for a type G UK plug & the 2pin will take a type E/F grounded EU plug, a type C EU plug & a type A US plug but it’s better not to mix them in the outlets as they will lose their grip on the different pins.
The E/F output pins on the back are located to the right so the adapter is weighted off centre, presumably so it doesn’t cover up a dual outlet, but it feels like it might pull out if you just use the left hand input.
This is only an adapter, not a converter, so you need to check the voltage of the item you plug in & the supply you plug into to make sure that they are compatible.
Although this is listed as a 7in1 adapter & states that it can charge 7 devices simultaneously, you are never going to manage that & are likely to burn out the unit if you try. There is only 2.4A max across all 3 USBs so you are only going to be able to trickle charge 3 devices at once & would be better off charging individually or through a plug.
Perfect for what is intended
I work on cruise ships in the US and abroad and am always in need of clever ways of charging and powering my items from home. This plug feels and looks good. It is compact and perfect for travel. It works well and I love it so fa
Very well built and seems to be a safe desig
There are shutters on both the UK and two-pin European outlets, and unlike some of the “universal” adapters it’s not possible to incorrectly insert a mains plug into any of the outlets.
It has a very firm grip on US-style (Type A flat pin) plugs, they certainly won’t be falling out. 2 pin Type C “Europlugs” *can* be held firmly, but if you use a UK shaver plug in there it will fit – and be held firmly – but this will weaken its grip for Europlugs as the pins are much bigger, so pick a side for your shaver – left or right – and stick to it. This is no different to big-brand adapters really; shaver adapters don’t handle Europlugs very well.
I’ve taken a look inside this to see how it’s constructed, and it seems pretty well made. The USB power module has decent clearance between mains and low voltage portions of the board and is insulated from the rest of the unit.
The USB ports do not perform any sort of handshaking with devices on charge and have no current setting resistors, they just have the D+ and D- lines linked together (at each port, not all three together). As a result Apple devices will only draw 1 amp, even if capable of more. Other devices may draw more depending on internal design and what they do when they encounter a charger with no handshaking.
The USB current rating is 2.4 amps OVERALL, not per port. Overload the USB ports and it will drop its output voltage below 5 volts and power consumption will drop as devices ease back on their demand due to the sudden voltage drop.
All in all a good device, and cheap enough that you probably won’t mind if you accidentally leave it in the hotel.
Handy for anyone travelling to the European mainland
I got this in preperation for a trip to Paris in the new year. Like most people I have an array on things that need to be powered or charged while on the move. This handy adapter should do the trick for keeping my devices ready for action.
You get a pair of UK 3 Pins, 2x Euro/US style sockets, and a trio of USB’s. As I’m here in the UK I had to be a bit creative to test this by sticking it in an EU-to-UK adapter.
In testing all the sockets provided power as they should, the sockets themselves all have a good firm grip ensuring nothing is going to fall out or come loose too easily. One minor niggle was the USB ports, all three needed a little wiggling around on the first use to get the plug in, on subsequent uses they were fine.
If your heading to Europe for holidays or travel and are worried that your hotel might not have enough sockets, this could be an ideal solution for you.
A great travel companion for your EU charging needs
This UK to European adapter has been a welcome addition to my array of products I carry with me whilst travelling. With an array of UK, EU, and USB ports, this adapter is a practical powerhouse, allowing me to charge multiple different devices simultaneously… no more juggling with numerous adapters!
Tested during a city break in Geneva, it simulatenously charged my phone, watch and tablet devices without a hitch. While it misses the USB-C, its overall performance remains impressive. Just be aware that when plugged into a dual socket, it might hog the space next to it.
Nevertheless, this adapter stands out as a reliable travel companion and is of good quality.
Good all in one device - but no USB-C provisio
This is almost perfect for most holidays (although not in Switzerland and Italy) – 2 UK plugs plus 3 USB-A and most importantly for me two 2-pin sockets for existing European plugs or shaver/toothbrush plugs. The USB-As are great but a USB-C would make this perfect for me. You can get convertors for 2 each which I have so, this is not too much of a problem – but an extra dedicated socket would be ideal.
This is not a converter (Power rating 13A 250V – 325W Max and USB output 5V 2.4A Max). Although there are 2 UK sockets, there is a reminder that it is 13A max on the front.
For shorter European breaks, this is virtually all I will need, so it should save space in the suitcase/rucksack.
At 9.99 (including the 5 off voucher) at the time of writing this review, I think it represents really good value.
Fantastic array of plug sockets for a UK traveller in Europe
I’ve got quite a few plugs for worldwide travel, normally they’re just USB or USB-C so I can charge my phone, watch, drone batteries and other portable items. What intrigued me most about this plug is that it has regular UK plugs (which I will need in two weeks in Madeira), but it also has sockets for a toothbrush/razor which is one I thing I am ALWAYS neglecting when packing for travels. I can confirm that the two pin sockets do fit my electric toothbrush charger perfectly and this is the missing piece of a puzzle I’ve been looking for for a while.
The USB ports aren’t the most powerful but they will top your phone/watch/other small device up overnight without issue. It’s actually beneficial to the battery to not jam as much charge through it as possible so consider this more of a positive thing if you’re an overnight charger like myself.
Compact and well built, but does have one key limitatio
We regularly travel to mainland Europe, 5-6 trips a year and always take a handful of plug adapters and USB charging heads between us – and never seem to return home with them all either! This time we wanted to cut back on what we carry and take a single unit that can handle all of our devices at once.
This unit will convert a single European plug into 2 UK plugs, 3 USB A ports and 2 shaver sockets (types C/A). It also carries the UK CA and CE safety marks, meaning hopefully it is up to a fair safety standard unlike some of the super-cheap junk readily available.
This has been used on a short trip to Spain and worked with no issues. It will be going back and forth many times in the coming months.
Pros:
– It’s fairly light and compact, definitely saving space in luggage.
– Feels fair well put together so should survive being regularly transported
– CA UK / CE safety markings
– Plenty of different connections to be used at once.
– Claims to be able to vary the USB charging rate, although I can’t test that to validate
Cons:
– Given the shape, when plugged in it to a multi socket (wall or extended cable as in my photo) it overhangs the plug socket next to it, meaning the plug next to it can’t be used – it basically needs 2 spaces. If there is something plugged into the next socket, this unit won’t fit and so could not be used. This may be true of most multi adapters, but something to be aware of.
Would I buy it again if needed? Probably, but let’s see how long it lasts with regular travel and use.
Good adapter, but not for all European outlets
This is a great travel adapter for anyone travelling to Europe. It is surprisingly compact and lightweight, and it has multiple outlets so you can use several of your devices at once, so long as the total current drawn does not exceed 13 Amps:
2 x UK sockets
3 x USB sockets
2 x shaver sockets
I was particularly pleased with the adapter’s ability to charge multiple portable devices simultaneously. 3 USB sockets enabled me to charge my phone, power bank, and AA batteries without the need for additional adapters.
It was frustrating when in Switzerland, however, as the accommodation I was staying in had a different kind of socket that this adapter did not fit into. I believe there may be issues in Italy, too, but I cannot confirm this. Just be aware that this may not be compatible.
Compact and lightweight
Multiple outlets for charging multiple devices
Built-in surge protector
Not for use in countries running on voltages lower than 220V.
Some European cities may require other adapters.
If you are looking for a reliable and affordable travel adapter for your next trip to Europe, I highly recommend this one.
