Inexpensive, but you get what you pay fo
Easy to mount and install phone app, which is good because there is only a minimal instruction sheet. However the team behind the Yi IoT mobile app are very helpful. The cameras don’t respond and track movement as much as I would like and take a long time to return to starting position. There is a long delay between responding to each event. Cameras need a VERY STRONG wifi signal and need to be mounted very close to a mains power supply for the USB cable unless, like I’ve had to do, you buy very long USB cables, (I have four cameras and each needs a 20mtr USB. Night vision is not very clear, but can’t expect much for the price.
Used for watching my mum
Handy item as I can make sure my mum is safe as she lives 150 miles away and is house bound with care attending 4 times a day so seeing my mum is safe is very important to me and this I can see her and I know she’s ok.
a GOOD and v cheap motorised INDOOR camera ( Not weatherproof )
for 20 you cant beat the value, but note the microSD slot + power cable are NOT weatherproof, the sd card espcially is an open socket with no cover plate..( I dont think it would last long outdoors )…. but for indoor use, its great, you can adjust the rotation via the phone app and/or windows app,,,,,,,,, the camera will auto rotate to keep the target in view…… you can manually rotate it via the app also…………
OH , the colour night vision is a gimmick , all it does it turn on super bright LEDs to illuminate the area ( so its not so dark anymore! ) stick with the infra red night vision……………..the camera is made by YI IOT , you can find the software online for windows, they Apple will be supported soon
image quality if fine, good enough for home use, dont expect the worlds best image for 20 , but its plenty good enough
Good Budget Indoor/Outdoor Camera
At only 20.99 you have to ask yourself what you’re compromising from units that cost 2-4 times more. The most obvious thing is the packaging. This comes in a tiny functional box and there certainly isn’t much in the way of e waste. It’s a cheapish build but the manufacturers claim this is IP65 waterproof and I certainly haven’t noticed any issues outside. The only question is how well it will last multiple UK seasons. I have my reservations but for just a little over 20, you can afford to replace it.
Image quality is good enough and everything works well with full night colour vision.
Can’t believe it’s so cheap, and whilst it is built like a children’s toy, for the price you really can’t complain.
