Not had one of these type of phone holders before. Use to have the suction cup versions but they always fall off after a while and also can get quite a bit wobbly unless you can lean against a surface. So went for a vent anchor version and they are a lot more secure very little wobble.
This gravity version is good, Slide you phone and click. Holds in well and doesn’t bounce around all over the place and easy to remove. Quite a clever design. So far it is working well.

I’m extremely satisfied with this car phone holder! The installation is a breeze – just slide your phone in, and the holder automatically clamps it securely without needing to press any buttons. The air vent hook design ensures a stable grip, preventing any slipping or movement, even on bumpy rides (speed bumbs!) With its auto-lock feature, my phone stays in place without any risk of falling, providing me with peace of mind while driving. It’s universally compatible with various smartphones and cases (works fine with my S24 ultra), and its compact size doesn’t block the vent or hinder airflow. Overall, it’s made my driving experience safer and more convenient!

The quest for the perfect car phone mount seems endless, with countless options vying for attention. Yet, the AINOPE Car Phone Holder, with its 2024 upgrade, promises a seamless blend of convenience, stability, and universal compatibility. After integrating it into my daily driving routine, here’s a detailed review of its performance and how it stands out from the myriad of mounts I’ve previously used.

Simplicity at Its Best: The gravity slide-in mechanism is a stroke of genius. The ease of just sliding in the phone and letting the mount do the rest, automatically securing the device, is both practical and time-saving. Unlike previous holders I’ve used, which required both hands and a distracting amount of attention, the AINOPE mount provides a stable hold with minimal effort. This feature alone significantly enhances driving safety by minimizing distractions.

Upgraded Air Vent Hook: AINOPE has addressed a common pain point with air vent mounts — their tendency to slip or dislodge during bumpy rides. The upgraded “hook shape” design, coupled with “three grasp points,” ensures a secure attachment to the vent that withstands road vibrations and sharp turns. This design innovation is a marked improvement, offering peace of mind that the phone won’t plummet at the first pothole.

Auto Lock Feature for Enhanced Stability: The auto-adjusting arm slots that secure the phone automatically are a welcome upgrade. They provide a firm grip on the device, eliminating the need for readjustment mid-journey. This auto-lock mechanism, combined with the protective silicone rubber clamps, ensures the phone is securely held without risk of damage. This feature is particularly valuable for larger phones, which often pose a challenge for lesser mounts.

Universal Compatibility: The mount’s ability to accommodate a wide range of smartphone sizes, including those with thicker cases, is commendable. This universal compatibility, tested with an iPhone 13 Pro Max and a Galaxy S10, eradicates the need for multiple mounts for different devices, making it a versatile choice for families or individuals with multiple phones.

No Vent Blockage Ensures Safety: The thoughtful design minimizes vent blockage, maintaining airflow while ensuring the mount itself remains compact when not in use. This aspect, along with the adjustable positioning, means the driver’s view remains unobstructed, contributing to safer driving conditions. However, it’s worth noting the limitation that the mount does not support horizontal mode, which might be a drawback for some users.

This is an innovative phone holder design that uses a multi-hinged cage that closes and clamps using the weight of a mobile phone.

This simple design phone holder by AINOPE consists of two main parts:
    — A gravity phone holder cage
    — A vent clip with a locking ball joint

Mounting to the car is via a metal reinforced vent clip which is now becoming more conventional.

When the phone is removed, the cage springs/folds back to its closed, compact state, thus making it very unobtrusive and importantly, does not restrict the air flow from the vents.

The design’s simplicity helps make this holder ultra lightweight; it would be nice if it could also have the orientation flexibility i.e. portrait AND landscape.

Together with the discount voucher, this compact and lightweight phone holder is worth considering.

It’s works fine if you DONT” have a phone case, you got a phone case you will have to push it down a bit firmer. Must admit it’s taken the phone further away from the heat coming out of the vent and it’s very stable when driving not wobbly or bounces about impressed with that. Any thick phone cases it’s not ideal like the video footage shows phone without a case

I have had a few gravity phone holders and this one is the best so far. It has a little metal hook that you wind out and engage with one of your vent fingers and then wind in, to tighten and secure it in place. Some types have rubber engagement prongs and these do work but tend to work free, especially with heavier phones. This holder does not suffer from that issue.

The only downside to this method of attachment is it does hold your vent in one place so renders it unadjustable. That said, assuming you want the vent open this is not a major issue.

It also holds the phone in the stream of air from the vent so will warm your phone in the winter and if using air con, cool it in the summer. Not a major issue in my view and I think the cooling in the summer is probably very helpful to the phone if you are using a bright screen with Sat Nav and potentially streaming music and charging the phone all at the same time as the phone may get quite warm.

I noticed that this holder tends to hold the phone slightly further forward than some other holders. If you want your phone slightly nearer your face this could be helpful.

You can charge your phone through a gap at the middle bottom of the holder. You can also adjust the phone to difference angles on the ball joint that connects the holder to the vent bracket.

Another good thing about this holder is that the arms that grip the phone are more curved than on some holders and this helps to keep the phone in the holder. Coupled with the more secure vent attachment method, this does mean the holder is more secure than many types of gravity phone holders. It is larger that some and capable of holder larger heavier phones like the iPhone Pro Max and the S24 ultra.

One good thing about this (and other gravity holders) is that when not in use the holder is relative small and neat looking.

An easy phone holder to recommend.

Review of AINOPE car phone holder for Cars.

This item drew my attention due to it’s gravity cradle holding an inserted phone, this giving the phone holder a very small footprint in front of the car heater vent so when the cradle is not in use it allows the air vent to continue to be used for air flow into the vehicle.

All seemingly OK until fitting, unfortunately the (plastic over metal) mounting hook which has to pass between and through the vent slats is big at 7mm deep, my vents are small with slats that are only 5mm apart, to my cost I already know their miniature plastic retaining pins break easily if the slats forced apart.
This a shame as the air vent mount is quite a robust design, the body rotated to extend, retract and secure the hook onto the rear of a vent slat although no positive lock is felt or enabled, two small rear wings on the body secure the base against movement, a typical ball mounting is used to attach to the phone cradle.

As for the phone holder cradle this is quite wide at 100mm across but only 35mm deep when not in use, to trial this cradle it was fitted to an alternate base already in use in my vehicle, my phone fitted with charging cable was placed on the two lower feet which then dropped about 55mm, at the same time the two side arms extend upwards and inwards to retain the sides of the phone, this all achieved purely by the weight of the phone and gravity, to remove all that is required is to lift the phone the arms and feet via springs then refold to the closed position.

Quite inventive all done by fulcrums and a spider web of small arms connected together by even smaller rotating joints, unfortunately none of these arms and joints look particularly robust, two small plastic gears moving six thin plastic arms held together with miniature plastic pins, a creative design let down by unsubstantial construction techniques.

This another car phone holder full of eastern promise and innovative design, it does work well at new but unsure this will last given the frail construction techniques used, put in continuous use within pothole UK one doubts this will stand the test of time however this only a personal opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars Imaginative design, questionable construction.

There is a lot to like about this phone holder, but in my Honda it doesn’t quite fit or position my phone as well as I had hoped.

The mechanism to hold the phone is great: you just drop your phone in and the arms swing out and grab it quite securely. I have a folding case for my large smartphone, and it even fits with the case still on (folded round behind the phone), albeit quite snugly. This means I don’t have to take my phone out of its case whenever I drive.

The clamp mechanism also works well on the air vents. I have to wind out the little hook part quite a way, but it reaches and then screws down securely.

What doesn’t work so well in my car is the positioning of the phone:

    – The vents on my car are quite high on the dashboard, which means the phone is held quite high and this blocks, slightly, my view of the road.

    – As you tighten the clamp on the vents it pulls in, which causes the vent fins to rotate perpendicularly to the clamp and the front of the vent as a whole. This means the “up-down” position of the vent fins becomes fixed, and in my car this angle is approximately a “blowing straight in your eye” level. I can still move the vent fins left/right, but it means I can no longer adjust the up/down position of the airflow, for example to warm my hands as I drive, or at least not blow at my eyes.

I have found that when it is attached to the very lowest vent fin I can just about get my phone into a position that doesn’t block my view of the road, but my wife is a little shorter than I am so I think this will not work for her and a phone will obscure the view out of the windscreen slightly. This may well be less of a problem in different cars, so I would bear this in mind if I were you, before ordering.

The holder seems fairly well made, though, so it’s just a shame it doesn’t seem the best fit for my Civic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Seems well made, but doesn't work as well as I'd hoped in my car model

Just what I was looking for!
Previous phone holders have either been suction cup ones (the last one I had melted on to the glass in a very hot August long drive and left a gelatinous mess on the window which I’ve never managed to fully remove!), and other ones that clip to the vent have been too close to it, which isn’t great if it’s cold and you have the heating on – it stops the full ventilation and heats up the phone!
Due to the way this is fixed it puts the phone a good distance from the vent, and the fitting is quite small so loads of air can get passed it. The way it fits in and locks in place is clever too, it won’t fall off going over a pothole which has happened with others I’ve had. You can also angle it well due to the ball joint, so I’ve managed to fit in where there’s no window glare on it. Impressed with the mechanism that holds the phone – no tight springs etc, it uses the weight of the phone to grip it, and it’s a good size so could fit very wide phones as well.
Overall impressed by the quality and way it’s been designed, best one I’ve had for the price!
