    Early days, but promising sta
Considering the price, I was skeptical in what I would receive and it’s usability. Having received this yesterday and spent a few hours tinkering with it. I can confidently say I’m initially very impressed with it. It has all the features that the equivalent GoPro would have, but for half the price (or less), AND you quite literally get EVERYTHING in the box! 2 batteries, the remote, a battery charging dock and several mounts and adapters! Admittedly, I’ve not yet used it in terms of filming yet, so my review may change in the future, however, as I stated, promising start.

    Works amazingly
Got this for traveling while out hiking and seeing the countryside, it’s amazing, the battery life is great and captures everything I want it to with little fuss on the set up.

    Tried and tested. Amazing
Bought this as I originally purchased the Brave 7 however 6 days of use and the lens kept falling off which ended up getting lost.

I decided to try the 8 to see if it’s any different.
A shame that it doesn’t use the same batteries as now I’ve wasted money getting spares for the 7.

Quality is good and the functions are just as easy to use as the previous model. So far nothing has fallen off or broke. Definitely look forward to testing it out on a motorbike and doing my travel blogs.

    Excellent value for money.
A good, solid action camera, very easy to set up with loads of features. As I can alter the Shutter speed and ISO sensitivity plus shoot up to 16 X Slow Motion is is the perfect little action cam for me. I can now shoot sports and Landscapes 🙂 🙂 I already own an EK7000 and 2 EK7000 Pro’s but use them for my fishing vlogs. Overall, a great range of cameras and a superb company with a great Customer Service should you ever need to contact them 🙂 🙂

    Great alternative to GP
I read about the Brave 7 in a review and was impressed. Chose the Brave 8 due to the higher resolution stills and increased waterproofing features. Earl days but very very happy so far. The starter kit is great and the camera itself is fantastic. The included remote is a great extra feature and when I work out how to put the trust strap on will be very useful. Lots of accessories available and all at a really good price point.

    Quality at an affordable price
Great camera, well made and with easy to use features. I bought this for a motorcycle road trip later this summer so have yet to use it in anger but nothing I have seen so far makes me think it won’t perform admirably.
Setting it up was a breeze and using the on screen menus is a piece of cake. The remote is a doddle too. It was all ready to use in minutes.
The camera came with plenty of attachments too.
Battery life looks to be good too with a spare battery on hand for a quick changeover when needed.
An excellent piece of kit for the price.

    Arrived on time. No issues
Just got this camera. Arrived as expected and with a lot of accessories. Struggled to understand the different mountings at the beginning but plenty of videos on Akaso website, so off to a good start. Real test will be when I take it on my adventures!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersGreat Camera Great Price
AKASO have made a really decent camera with the Brave 8, they have resolved the audio issue’s the 7 had, the video qaulity is great, stills can be shot in 48M, the camera has a front screen, is water proof and is solidly built. As always the camera comes with a box full of accessories, it comes with 2 batteries, a dual battery charger and a remote control. I would definitely recommend the – BRAVE 8

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersImpressive quality with all GoPro Hero accesories compatible (and can't go wrong with the price)
    – Yes, it DOES work with this 64 GB card: ASIN B073JYVKNX –
This might be not quality of GoPro Hero – both build- and price-wise – but for an amateur on holidays it’s more than you’ll ever need: use it with selfie-stick, attached to a head-band or harness or simply clip it on your clothes or backpack, everything from a bicycle to hood of a car to a glider’s wing, or as a dash cam or baby-cam etc. There is a plenty of accessories in the box and you can buy more and spare ones from 9 to 20 plus.

There is a Wi-Fi built in which means that you can upload videos to another Wi-Fi enabled device but also that you can control the camera using your mobile phone! In fact, the first thing they suggest in the instruction is to download a phone app and connect

What impressed me most are two functions I will use combined very soon: you can turn video frame by 180 degrees with few clicks of the button so you can take video with camera upside down (as if in normal position), and start filming upside down under water with camera attached to yellow Floating Handle Grip. Effectively you film yourself snorkelling from a distance. The yellow grip handle also makes floating camera visible from a distance too.

According to manufacturer camera will accept memory card up to 32 GB, in reality – as reported by others – it DOES work with this 64 GB card. Search for ASIN B073JYVKNX, that’s what I use. It shows the capacity of over 8 hours of HD video when inserted.

All GoPro Hero accessories seem to be compatible.

The only reason for knocking a star is that there was no charger in the box. I return it and re-ordered and the same story happened. The is a pic of charger in the leaflet in the box but it is not listed in Amazon’s description. Amazon told me that’s how the manufacturer advertises product but I cannot believe they would include two batteries but charger.

With that in mind, it’s truly great buy at 35!

Great little camera and the wifi is really handy optio
I scratched the lens on my previous VICTSING action camera and it was a shame because it was a great little camera and I used it loads. I have a GoPro Session but I don’t like to risk that on my aerial videos in case the plane does a fly away. So after quite a bit of research I got this AKASO as the reviews were very positive.
Some reviews say battery life is poor but you get two batteries and the battery from my old action camera fits as well. I filmed for well over an hour with no issues and still some left.
The video above was filmed with one of the adapters supplied at 1080p, fitted to my baseball cap and its great with the wifi app because you can adjust the camera to get the view you are after.
I was flying my Radio Controlled VC10 jet and I forgot to take the datestamp off, the video is as is no editing.
Next time out it will go on a plane for some aerial shots.
The only thing I found a little confusing was the time lapse as I shoot a few of these videos.
I set it for 5 secs and thought is was recording, it did but took one shot. Then I realised you need to set continous loop on. That did it.
Is it as good as a GoPro, no but its good enough for my needs and better than expected. For the money you cant go wrong.
You get loads of adapters and a a charger to put the batteries in which plugs in to most USB chargers.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersPleasantly surprised!
Firstly the number of mounts that come with the camera are plentiful. What it does NOT come with are harnesses for the body or head, hence the 4 star review. Otherwise you really are set to go for nearly any eventuality.

I’m also very pleased (and surprised) that 2 batteries were included. The charger supplied can charge both batteries simultaneously, and uses a micro USB (cable also supplied).

Video quality at 1080p 30fps is more than acceptable. It’s not bluray quality but it will certainly suffice for those action shots. For your main vlogging or video capture needs I would recommend most smartphones these days, a vlogging camera or even SLR / compact camera. The 170 degree wide angle is also very nice.
I will say there is an option in settings to set the video quality at 4k 10fps. I tested it and the video looked as though it was buffering over a 56k modem circa 1999.

Photo quality, again you’ll most likely be using this for moving footage but the option is there for photos. They’re acceptable to me, but if like me you want highest quality photos, use another device. When set at 12MP (highest setting) zooming in on the photos you could see noticeable pixelation. Pixelation you would not see on smartphones.

I’ve mostly said I’m satisfied and quality is acceptable, but considering a cheap GoPro starts at 300 and this 49.99, I’m more than happy with this item. It does the job at a fraction of the price, the interface is very simple to use and it’s a good starter which is what I was looking for. It’s worth the money in my opinion. Normally when you get a lot, you don’t get much in the way of quality. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and aside from the lack of harnesses, I would’ve given this 5 stars … but you can’t have everything!

At the price, this is a good, really fun piece of kit.
Nice little piece of kit. For the price this is excellent. The picture quality is good, but possibly not quite as good as your phone. But this isn’t competing with your phone…you don’t take your phone diving with dolphins or strap it to the mast of your sailing boat. It’s very easy to use. It sometimes doesn’t pick up the sound you’d like it to…might get more of the wind than voices, but when you’re on a boat that’s probably not surprising. It has lots of gadgets to connect it to things. The build quality is good…no problems after a few months. Still photos are a little disappointing, but again that’s not why I got it. It’s robust and great fun. Regular timed shots of us playing on the beach are great. It comes with two batteries. One of mine was faulty and with no fuss I was given a small refund which seemed very reasonable, so points for v.good service. The wifi connectivity seems to work well although I’ve not really used it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersNot a bad bit of kit.
Speedy delivery. Camera is simple to use, didnt bother with using the manual other than looking at the picture detailing what each button does.

Had issues with the app, the manual tells you to download the wrong app, I emailed the seller who replied rapidly informing me to download an alternative app. Camera now connects to my phone via the WiFi. The wifi signal is fairly weak, 10m max! But image is good. Questionable ig its 1080p!

When connecting to the app, its not explained very well how to connect to the camera. You need to connect the phone via its wifi to the camera (press the bottom button on the side of camera to activate the camera wifi). Find the camera in your WiFi menu on phone/tablet and connect. Then open the app and select the cknnect toto camera part. The app will not connect to the camera unless its connected outside of the app in the wifi settings.

Not tried recording yet, but I have high hopes 🙂 ideal camera for what I want, occasional activities.

Only 4 stars as ive been unable to film and revies the video quality yet so review may increase.

Great value camera for the money
After reading many of the reviews and knowing I couldn’t justify a Go-Pro I thought I’d give this a whirl. After all it isn’t prohibitively expense! It arrived when expected and the packaging was very robust; professional looking and held all the parts securely.
This is my first foray into action video cameras as I’ve recently started doing DH biking again. Once it was unpacked I was impressed with the quality and the additional mounting accessories it came with, which for a cheap camera is a huge bonus and allows you to mount t pretty much any where you want without having to spend more money.
I set up the camera, which was pretty easy and also the wifi connection so I could control it with my phone (iPhone 6S plus) the app and wifi functionality work as expected; so far so good.
I then put a mount on my freeride bikes handlebars and one on my helmet – I haven’t used this one yet so cannot comment on how secure the sticky pad holding it on is.
I get to the start of the DH run and turn the camera on and start riding. It was hellishly bumpy with drops jumps and big rocks but apart from horrific wind noise it recorded everything including my crash which didn’t damage the camera. The mounting was secure and the picture was more than acceptable. The only downside was the sound. I wonder if the proximity to a massive DH tyre and the track itself contributed so I’m going to try the helmet mount next time I go.
I’ve used it several times now and it works exactly as you expect. It definitely isn’t a Go-Pro and is quite basic compared to their offerings but it’s about a tenth of the price so as long as you’re okay with that and accepting of the limitations it is a more than capable little camera. I’m actually thinking of getting a couple more so I can record multiple angles to edit into one and also to help me study my form on the bike and see where I need to improve my riding. Happily recommended.

It looks great as it is a small size which is ideal ...
I bought this camera for going travelling as a much cheaper alternative of a GoPro.
It looks great as it is a small size which is ideal and also comes with a waterproof case (although I am yet to use it underwater). The camera comes with two batteries meaning you can use it for twice as long but you will need an SD card to use the camera. It comes with lots of different mounts/accessories which I’m sure would be useful for anyone wanting to use the camera for cycling etc.
The camera has wifi so you can view your photos on your smartphone via the app, however I don’t seem to be able to get the app on my laptop/tablet, this is not too much of a problem as I can just use the SD card.
Overall it looks to be a great little camera, the photo quality could probably be a bit better but for the price I think it is great and I can’t wait to use it on my travels.
Delivery was also quicker than expected.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI would buy it again. Loving it.
Excellent. I love this little camera. Right from the start you can see that it is a quality product. It’s extremely well packed in a carton that is well produced with lots of information on it. The camera is beautiful with soft touch plastic front, grippy sides and a clear screen. The buttons are solid and work well. It is very well engineered. It slots into its outer case very securely with a good seal and the outer buttons work well to operate the camera. There are loads of different mounting gadgets supplied and these are high quality and the various ones that i have used do the business. Working through the various modes is a piece of cake and the tools screen allows good flexibility to tweak the settings. It’s simple to connect to my Mac computer in order to charge and to transfer and delete files. There are lots of decent youtube videos that folks have made about what’s in the carton, charging, inserting a micro-DS card (printed side aligned with viewing screen, connectors forward towards lens), using the Tool menu, attachments and I’d really recommend watching a few of these before unboxing and pressing buttons wildly! In the future it would be good to have stability correction software. I would buy it again. Loving it. A great piece of equipment that provides quality for the cost.
I’ve been after an adventure camera for quite some time, mainly for road use and occasionally rock climbing. But with GoPros costing a few hundred, I was always put off with buying one. With the recent increase in various adventure cameras that are sub 100 or even as low as 40, I was curious how well they fair in comparison to the GoPro camera and just as curious to see how well they perform in the first instance. I chose to try the AKASP EK5000 mainly due to positive reviews and decent price point. I thought at first it may just be coincidence that the reviews were generally positive but I was quite pleasantly surprised. That said, there are point to be improved so I’m going to list some of the pros and cons I have discovered with the camera so far (1 week).

    Pros
Feels decent, though the plastic body may put some people off, the item has a nice weight and does appear to be of decent quality.
A great variety of additional bits for whatever activity you are doing
The app is pretty good, simple but good. It allows you to real time monitor the live feed with only a slight delay, change recording resolution, change mode and even download pictures and videos to your phone.
Picture resolution is pretty good, the main let down is the lens quality, but it is still very clear.
Case works well and has kept the camera dry in the rain.

    Cons
Can’t charge the battery out of the device, though you can get (additionally) a dock to charge them.
States it does 60fps at 720p, though the device does not seem to say so in the settings. I can’t decide yet whether this is just a OS error or the camera does not do 60fps.
Instructions are quite basic, more of a ‘quick start’ sort of manual, though it does offer several languages.
It records in 10 minute segments; there may be a way to change this but I have yet to find it. I get that this may not be a con for some but it can be annoying over time.
Microphone suffers terribly in the wind and is greatly reduced in the case, but this is expected.

So to conclude, for the price you could do a lot worse. This camera offers a decent amount of functionality and produces good quality video with audio.

Quality camera for a very low price
Not having tried and tested a Sport Action camera before I was looking for an entry level product with a budget friendly price tag. With the AKASO EK5000 I have found just that and am more than happy. You get plenty of accessories including an additional battery and the camera itself is looks robust, is compact and very easy to use. It boasts Slow Motion and Time Lapse recording, both of which I was looking for, and though as yet I haven’t had the chance to completely explore all the functions the quality of the movies and pictures I took so far is great. I cannot wait to fully use the waterproof casing underwater when I am out diving. Another impressive function is the ability to connect the camera to the app via the in-build Wi-Fi. You can monitor the screen on the phone and also operate the camera. The manual is easy to follow, if a little too easy – I would have liked some more details on how to use the accessories correctly, but this is only a minor quibble. Overall I think you would be hard pressed to find a better quality camera in this price range.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA nice little package, great at the price.
Only had the camera a couple of days but the initial usage of it looks good. Nice package of accessories included which allow for immediate mounting on helmets etc. If setting up a helmet mount at this time of year its worth having the helmet in doors for a few hours to warm up as the sticky pads work much better if the helmet isn’t really cold.

The camera itself is a great size, screen is clear to use. The first few videos created are a good quality, certainly when compared to other much more expensive sports action cameras. Would be nice to have a mains charger but you cant have everything at this price.

The instructions are basic but ok. Set up of the App on an iPhone is very straight forward and quick to connect. First usage of the App was simple.

All in all the first few days are looking promising, Will update once I have had more time on it.

and being a best seller thought it looked good enough to buy with ...
After looking around trying to get my son a action cam for his youtube videos he makes i had nearly given up looking, when i saw this camera at a very reasonable price, and being a best seller thought it looked good enough to buy with nearly 60 off as well.
It arrived quickly, well packaged not over done though.
It is a Christmas gift so we havent used all its functions and tested its full capability yet.
The bit of footage we did take seemed decent enough,it does come with a second battery too so you can keep a charged one whilst one is in use.
The mounts looked decent quality, not tacky and cheap
We had a flyer inside that have us a way to get some freebies too!
The only thing it could do with is a hardcase to store it in but for the price its no big issue i can just buy one seperate cheap enough.
For a starter camera in action sports or youtubing id definitely buy this one rather than a third party cheap tacky one that may need replacing soon afte

Firstly I'm really happy with the quick delievery
Recieved this little gadjet in the post this morning after ordering yesterday. Firstly I’m really happy with the quick delievery, before lunch time as well. I would love to be able to use this awesome little camera however cannot find a Micro SD suitable for it in the home at the moment. However, I am so pleased with all the accessories that come with the camera and cannot wait to get going. I have managed to connect my phone with this little beauty and as my wife set it up and I set up my phone, we were both amazed by the viewfinders image appearing on the phone. I mean it actually works! The app was easy to find and simple to use when connecting my camera to my phone. Unfortunately at the moment I cannot record moving or still images due to the lack of SD card, which I should have realised. I love how small it is, it will fit perfectly in the tank with my Piranhas without causing too much of a disturbance, its lightweight and only has little bulk to it when the waterproof cover is in place. It does however get a little bit warm, this may be due to its small size. If I can update this review once the camera has an SD card in then I will do. So watch this space. Thank you from a very happy customer!
