I’ve been using this for a month now and I’m pretty impressed with this. I have a couple of niggles with it though that are probably available on more expensive versions, but this is the basic version so no worries.

There is no on/off switch – as soon as it sees the sun it starts pumping. If you need to turn it off then turn it upside down!

The most annoying thing though is that there is no battery. This leads to the fountain turning on and off constantly, especially at this time of the year when the sunlight is pretty poor and changeable.

It comes with a selection of nozzles to change the spray pattern and height, and also what looks like 4 straws. These straws can be stuck in to 4 holes around the edge of the fountain to keep the fountain floating in the middle of the pond or bird bath.

I’m not sure the birds like it too much either, but I do like it and the sound it makes.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good basic solar-only water fountai

his is well made/quality and is really easy and quick to set up to make a nice water feature. it comes with a bag for gravel to anchor it, something i’ve not seen before as well as 4 straw attachments to keep it central in water features and bird baths, it has 5 nozzles to create different effects or it can be used without to create a bubble flow effect. i got this in Feb so we have not had much sun meaning i’ve not seen it at full effect, but with the odd bit of sun we have had it has looked and sounded lovely, i am confident that in full summer sun it is going to be stunning

I have used Blagdon products before and found them superior quality. This little solar fountain is no exception. It is well made and comes with different sprinkler heads so you can alternate.
It fits well in a bird bath or a small pond. It also comes with a pond anchor so it stays in place rather than being blown to the edge and you end up losing water Fab idea
It comes with a 3 year guarantee so you know they are sure of its longevity.
    Definitely a winner for me

This Blagdon Solar Floating Fountain looks well made and comes with a decent user guide and accessories. I have carried out a short-term test in my smallish birdbath but the season inhibits a longer-term and more detailed test. This fountain appears quite powerful even in the limited winter sunshine.

A problem that bugged earlier fountains was that they’d drift close to the edge and spray out all the water causing the water to run dry. The standout feature of this version is that it has an effective pond anchor and sticks to centre it. The anchor is effective and the sticks help in a smaller environment such as mine (for which this model, the Liberty is designed) but would be less helpful in a bigger pool. The five heads which give a choice of spray patterns are handy too.

Maintenance involves cleaning the filter and impeller which is simple enough and spares are available. The unit does not appear to have a safety cutout. Some fountains cut off if they can’t draw water, but this version states you should not run the pump without water as it will affect the warranty. To balance this, the warranty is generous at three years and there’s access to UK-based support.

Overall, a well-designed product that distinguishes itself in a crowded marketplace by its anchor system and UK-based support.

This item was supplied to me free of charge through Amazon’s Vine programme; however this in no way influences my review, which is intended to be both impartial and informative for potential purchasers.

Theis solar pump is really nice and i do like the solar items rather than using mains electric where they are strong enough to support it.

As present with the weather how it is, where i wanted to produce a video of this working i havent as it would be detrimental to this and i will hopefully do one in the summer when the sun is hining and giving this the power it needs.

You have a few optios to keep the pump in the centre of you water be that the weight bag or the 4 plastic tubes.

This also comes with 5 changable fountain heads of differing sizes and are easy to swap over

As was pointed out in another review, you will need to keep an eye on it to clean the filter out as you will get a build up of moss, algai and dirt dependant on the conditions in the water you put this in.

I love these little solar power fountains, however I have struggled in the past keeping them in my very small bird bath.
But this Blagdon Liberty solar pump is slightly different as it has the capacity to add a weight to keep the disc in the centre of the bird bath and low down , which consequently allows the water to circulate around the disk , rather than the disk slipping to one side and as a result the water escapes very quickly out of the bird bath. It also comes with four plastic tubes that can be added to the fountain disk to help keep the fountain centred, not yet used these as the pond anchor appears to be working well .
The anchor is a simple little stretch bag that you can fill with gravel and place out of sight under’ the fountain . You get a choice of 5 different fountain heads , some low some high , these are nice and easy to fit onto the fountain .The above mini clip video was taken on a very cloudy day but it still managed to pump out water which pleased me. One thing I would say is you do have to remember to clean the filter underneath the bird bath regularly, as they can get blocked up with algae. Now all we need is to see the fountain at its full capacity.

Footnote -: I have added a new video clip as I am so pleased with this little water fountain, it has stayed in place for weeks now and even on a fairly cloudy day it works so well , so I’m adding another star!

5.0 out of 5 stars So far so good!
