Water Made Bette
They fit our water jug perfectly.
Working as expected and living in a hard water area we’ve really noticed not just the improvement to the taste of our cold/ hot drinks but also a vast reduction to the limescale build up in our kettle and coffee maker since we started using a water filter jug .
Great water filters.
At long last found these at a reasonable price after so many suppliers putting their prices up. Quality is great and so was delivery. Nice taste to the water after filtration. Recommend.
They are good value compared to supermarkets. Easy to install in my kettle.filter quality is good. However the performance seems to be failing. In that I do live in a very hard water area and the filters since they have changed do not seem to last longer than a couple of weeks, despite they now state you get extra 50 litres. I cannot find a contact address for brita to query this. As the contact address on the box does not exist apparently. This being the case these filters could prove to be an expensive purchase overall. Very disappointing.
The BRITA MAXTRA PRO All-in-1 Water Filter Cartridge 6 Pack is designed to provide cleaner, better-tasting water by reducing impurities commonly found in tap water. This review covers long-term use, evaluating performance, ease of use, cost-effectiveness, and overall value.
**Filtration Efficiency:**
Over several months of use, the BRITA MAXTRA PRO cartridges consistently deliver on their promise of improving water quality. The filter effectively reduces chlorine taste and odor, limescale buildup, and heavy metals such as lead and copper.
**Longevity:**
Each cartridge is designed to filter up to 100 liters of water or last for approximately four weeks, depending on water hardness and household usage. In practice, the filters generally meet this expectation. Users with particularly hard water might find the filters need replacement slightly sooner, but the performance remains robust until the recommended change time.
**Consistency:**
The performance remains consistent across the six-pack. There is no significant variation in the filtration quality from one cartridge to the next, ensuring reliable water quality throughout the usage period.
#### Ease of Use
**Installation:**
Installing the BRITA MAXTRA PRO cartridges is straightforward. The cartridges fit seamlessly into BRITA pitchers and other compatible devices. The design includes an easy-to-grip tab, making insertion and removal simple and mess-free.
**Maintenance:**
Minimal maintenance is required beyond the regular replacement of cartridges. The BRITA system typically includes an indicator to remind users when it’s time to change the filter, ensuring that the water quality remains optimal without the need for manual tracking.
#### Cost-Effectiveness
**Initial Investment vs. Ongoing Costs:**
While the initial purchase of the 6-pack might seem costly compared to buying individual filters, the bulk pack offers a significant discount per cartridge. Given the enhanced water quality and the potential savings on bottled water and appliance maintenance (due to reduced limescale), the investment is justified over the long term.
**Comparative Value:**
When compared to other brands and filter types, the BRITA MAXTRA PRO cartridges are competitively priced. Their performance, coupled with the longevity and consistency of filtration, positions them as a cost-effective solution for households looking to improve their water quality.
The BRITA MAXTRA PRO All-in-1 Water Filter Cartridge 6 Pack stands out as a highly effective, user-friendly, and cost-efficient solution for improving tap water quality. Its long-term performance is reliable, offering consistent filtration that enhances the taste and safety of drinking water. The ease of use, combined with the environmental benefits and overall value, makes this product a worthwhile investment for any household looking to ensure clean and fresh water on demand.
After using BRITA MAXTRA filters I have noticed there’s no Limescale anymore in my kettle, whereas before you could see a lot of Limescale from boiling water.
I’ve been buying Brita filter cartridges for around 20 – 30 years and have always liked the crisp refreshing taste. I can literally drink tonnes of filtered water but virtually no plain tap water at all.
So, last time I noticed the new Limescale expert ones and thought I’d gave them a go as I live in a hard water area. I noticed the taste straight away and the fact that it just didn’t taste as crisp as the Maxtra +. I didn’t really notice any difference in the limescale removal either when compared to the previous Maxtra +. I mean they’re good, but so were the aforementioned.
After using the 6 Limescale expert cartridges in a freshly (plain white vinegar) descaled electric kettle (so 6 months worth) I’ve found it looks exactly the same as when using Maxtra + (which is very very minimum limescale, but equally equivalent).
So this time round I thought I’d go back the Maxtra + only to find that they are no more, and now the choice is either the Limescale ones or the new All-In-One version. Well I ordered the All-in-one hoping to get that crispness back and the taste is again not as crisp as the limescale ones (which didn’t taste as crisp or refreshing as the Maxtra +). It has a softer taste to it (it’s hard to explain exactly what I mean) but to some up, the taste seems to be diminishing with these newer cartridges. No other reviewers have made such a comment so perhaps my taste buds have died recently? joke, but I’ve definitely noticed this over the last 2 newer cartridges.
As for performance, both new types filter at the same speed as I have always remembered and fit perfectly in my Morella (if I remember the name correctly) fridge water jug.
I will continue to buy either of these newer 2 types of filter (as it’s now the only choices), but it will literally be whatever is cheapest at the time of buying as I’m not really a fan of either compared to Brita’s original Maxtra +.
There is a slight bonus in these being an extra 50l longer lasting and as I bought these at nearly half price, 23.99 for 6 (I ordered 2 packs with this being the case) so this will create savings in the long run.
I am happy with these cartridges, just not as happy as I would have been with the original Maxtra +.
Ohh, I can’t leave my review without saying Maxtra + one more time
The End
The items I will take to a desert island.
I can not imagine my life without Brita Jag, Brita Maxtra filters, and Oral B electric toothbrush, all made in Germany and purchased from Amazon. You can never go wrong with this stuff!
Repeat purchase.
Had my Brita jug filter for a few years as when I want a drink of water my unfiltered tap water is off-putting. Each filter lasts 4 weeks and couldn’t be without them.
Really efficie
Loved the quality, the efficiency and the quick filtration of water.
I tried another brand which was unbelievably slow, it made me thinking about Brita brand again.
I have the large sized Brita filter which needs a quick cartridge.
+ original product matching the jug perfectly
+ easy to use
+ long lasting (150 litres)
+ no disturbing smell of plastic or chemicals
+ mind-blowing effectiveness at softening the water
– on a pricey side
If you own a Brita jug, it’s the only way to achieve top filtering results. No “compatible” filter brand will deliver that much in terms of softening hard water or filtering chemicals often present in tap water.
That’s how I still have no trace of limescale in my electrical kettle, iron, coffee machine – everywhere I use Brita-filtered water.
Granted, you have to pay premium for the original product but with so many deals around it’s not difficult to find multipacks for 4-4.5 quid per cartridge. And paying less that 5 for a month worth protection of all these small devices using water – I’d say it’s a decent deal.
Protip: check online how hard is the tap water in your area. If it’s exceptionally hard, look for the “limescale expert” version of these filters (and also consider reversed osmosis filter in your kitchen before that water destroys your dishwasher and washing machine).
.. I live in UK in an area with a really hard water where you can see the scale buildup inside your kettle very fast. I have been using Brita filters for years now and when I saw this new product I was hopeful that finally won’t have to clean the inside of the kettle every 2 weeks. Unfortunately that won’t be the case yet. I will wait for the next upgrade with that in mind. The taste of water is definitely better than the previous version but the scale buildup is not perfected yet. Maybe if you’ve got water filter fitted in your tap already it works 100% for those lucky ones but for me the taste improved but the scale struggles remain. For now
