I have the CCTV camera mounted outside on the shed, looking up towards the back of my house. Thank heavens for the instruction booklet because setting it up was not a straightforward as I would have liked. The night settings seemed to automatically be set to switch on it warm light as soon as it detected movement, which meant a bright light was coming on throughout the night, beaming up towards my bedroom window, and it’s a very bright light! Switching off this setting, stopped the CCTV camera from lighting up at night and used just black and white night vision instead, which was actually perfectly good. My only criticisms of the camera or that, even though you can set it to monitor just a specific area, it does get distracted and look elsewhere! Mine is set to specifically look at the back of my house, but there is a tree nearby that I have excluded from the monitoring area, but nonetheless it’s still periodically turns and had a look at the tree when it is waving in the breeze! my other criticism would be that the USB power cable is not detachable from the camera which means you need to drill a hole that is at least 2 cm in diameter through a brick wall in order to pass through the USB to an internal power source. it would have been much better if the USB power source had a jack or small USB connector that could be plugged in or removed as required from the back of the camera. The length of the cable attached to the camera is only just over 1.5 m and given the fact that you are supposed to install the camera 2 m above ground as a minimum you could really do with the cable been considerably longer. I bought a USB extension cable to get around this. Having said that, the camera does record all movement at the back of my house and records it securely on the microSD card. I noticed that some reviews had difficulties with their microSD cards and the formatting, but I found that during the set up process, the camera suggested via the app that it format the microSD card. Accepting that it does, this led to no difficulties whatsoever in it reading and storing video footage on the microSD card. The camera is a very good price when compared with others.
