We have had lots of trouble with kids bending and wiggling the joycons or carrying the switch one handed by the joycons, so our rails are always getting worked loose and any controllers we’ve tried are constantly disconnecting, but since this is a single unit this works amazingly well for us. The kids complain about too much travel but it seems fine to me and I’ve been gaming for almost 40 years.
I would buy again in a heartbeat.

I love the feel, the durable grip and use of the device. I don’t play a lot of fps so I won’t notice the issue with thr right stick like some. But I love it.

Miss your old game gear? Well put your switch in this bad boy, fire up sonic mania, and enjoy a trip back to your childhood. I don’t use the turbo function or the back buttons, but I dig the stand and the feel of it. No more hand cramps. Also protects the switch! And fits in my case. Relocates the power input to the back and it makes so much more sense if you charge while playing. This controller does not connect wirelessly, so you can’t dock the switch and use this controller (maybe if you run a USB cable from the switch dock to the controller, but I haven’t tried it) Beats the daylights out of the other two piece controller add-ons. I also tried the Hori split pads but they feel like I’m going to break them or my switch when they’re on my console. DONT HESITATE, EMBRACE YOUR CHILDHOOD!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI can’t honestly give this device a 4 star rating, it’s more like a 3.5. All the complaints people had, seem to be fixed. I didn’t have to download a firmware update. I was really worried about this device after seeing all the negative YouTube reviews. I have an Asus Rog Ally. Lenovo Legion Go, Logitech G Cloud. and of course my switch. Needless to say I have my share of handhelds. At first I was expecting a heavier device, nope it’s the lightest of tge 4 I own. Feels no where near the heft of any of my other gaming handhelds. Bottom right button too bright? Right out of the box there were instructions to lower the brightness by tapping the program button. The rumble feels just right and it doesn’t make the noise people were complaining about. Triggers didn’t seem as light as people claimed. I’m not accidentally hitting them and they take a little effort to activate. I didn’t notice any deadzones. So basically everything people were complaining about is fixed and no firmware update was needed. I do have some gripes, people were comparing this device to the steamdeck, it’s no where near the same size. It’s actually pretty small. It’s the smallest handheld device I own. The ergonomics are no where near as comfortable for bigger hands like on devices such as the Asus Rog Ally and G cloud. I really wish they would have made this deck wider and a tad bit longer so that the palms of my hands could rest on the controller, instead of hanging off of it. I do have abnormally long fingers and hands. My hands are almost as big as some people’s feet. So this is more personal preference and everyone’s mileage may very. Now the big topic the right analog stick sucks, yes it is playable, however not for long periods without doing some awkward clawgrip. To be fair.. I have about 200 switch games and only 4 were first person shooters. I mean who would buy this tiny device with low frame rates, small screen, and natively horrible sticks to play a FPS? I love first person shooters, but I’m not playing them on my switch I’m on one of my 2 hand held pcs, my PS5, my home pc, or my Cloud streaming G cloud. If you have multiple devices chances are you’re on the switch for one reason only Nintendo’s Exclusives, and let’s face it there really aren’t any decent ones on the switch. Maybe I’m missing something but as of late excluding N64 games like Golden Eye, and Torok, there’s only Metroid Prime. I really can’t think of any Nintendo FPS exclusives. Yes I can’t enjoy Boarderlands 2 on my switch, Metroid Prime, and 2 other games that elude my memory with this controller. It still works for the other 196+ games I own. Just for the record Boarderlands 2 looks like garbage on the tiny 6.something inch Switch screen at 30 FPS and 600p resolution. I’m getting over 100 fps on my Legion Go on an 8.8 inch 2k resolution, and I don’t need a online membership like with Nintendo to play it. I have 2 other dock able attachments and a grip extender, all 3 are wider which works better for my hands. The grip extender feels great in my hands but leaves me stuck with the switches horrible drifting sticks, crappy D pad, and tiny buttons. My other 2 controller docks just feel cheap in comparison to the nitrodeck. People complained about the D pad I actually like it, it’s my personal preference. The hall effect sticks and triggers feel nice and precise. I like the resistance on the sticks, similar to the PS5’s duel sense, not loose and wobbly like the Xbox controller and clones. I don’t think there is a perfect device that fixes all of the switches shortcomings, but the Nitrodeck solves most and just falls short for big hands and on the FPS games people hardly are ever going to play.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI had to come back and update my review once they put out the firmware 2.0 this thing is now way better then my nexigo(albeit i like the formfactor of the nexigo better still). You can now turn on no dead zone and My god that should just be the standard option, also you can adjust rumble intensity from off to super strongand you can also adjust your triggers as a quasi trigger stop meaning you don’t have to fully pull em for them to be registered this is now the only thing i use when in handheld and my nexigo is gonna collect dust..

So a game like MLB the Show is near impossible to pitch in due to the dead zone being nearly half the movement, what i mean is you can move the thumb stick nearly half the distance before anything happens even in menusalso wanna say compared to my Nexigo its no where near as comfy with the thumb stick on the right being directly belownow for things i do like i do like the kickstand i also LOVE where the charge port is located allowing you to play while laying down with a charger plugged in without jabbing you in the chest or belly with the cord. Some other negatives, vibration is loud as can be i mean its damn loud to the point where it sounds like something broke loose. D-Pad is spongy AF and the face buttons aren’t much better all in all i would recommend a nexigo over this every day of the week! To those that say bad reviews are cause we are expecting to much I’m comparing this to its compitor that i have with the Hal effect sticks as well the Nexigo. Which does have dead zones but anywhere near as bad as this thing
