Overall, I’m highly impressed with the D-Tap to NPF Dummy Battery Dual-Sided Power Adapter. Its versatility, performance, and build quality make it an essential accessory for any filmmaker or photographer looking for a reliable power solution on set. Whether you’re using Atomos monitors or Sony cameras, this adapter is sure to meet your power needs with ease and efficiency.
It has become an essential part of my filmmaking kit. Its dual-sided design and three-way output provide incredible versatility, allowing me to power multiple devices at the same time. The build quality is top-grade, and the three detachable cables make it compatible with various Sony NP-F series batteries. With this adapter, I no longer worry about running out of power during long shoots. It’s necessary for any filmmaker or content creator who relies on their gear for professional results.
Using this adapter has streamlined my camera setup significantly. It’s been reliable in powering my monitor and transmitter, making my shooting sessions more efficient. The build quality is solid, and the compatibility with various devices is a huge plus. The ability to power multiple devices simultaneously without the hassle of multiple cables has made my work much tidier and more organized.
This dual sided battery adapter is super useful for scenarios such as having a monitor on your camera and wanting to mount a wireless transmitter or receiver like a cineeye onto the back. You can power it via the included cables, so you can use one battery to power two devices in a very neat rig without loads of cables! A really versatile product, great to have in your bag!
This is great as I can now power my light from my v mount battery too which keeps my rig so much lighter than having to use both v mount for the camera and then np-F for the light, with this I can run the light from the big battery too, it’s well made and comes with a few cables too like d-tap and USB.
It’s a fantastic bit of kit for anyone running on V-mount batteries.
The powerpack splitter can be powered by either a USBc or a D-tap. This is great if you need the V-mount for your primary power sources for your camera. Yes, I’m, running a Blackmagic 4K so power is a vital thing for me.
It’s lightweight and comes with both a coiled and straight primary cable perfect for different configurations
5*****.
This is a decent quality product with the NPF block and 3 included D Tap cables to connect it to up to two NPF devices simultaneously. The adapter also has a USB C port so you can also power a third device. Personally Im using it to power a light from a 70 WH D Tap power block. Works very well and will be included in my kit bag for regular use.
PROS
-great product for the mobile (and non-mobile) film-maker
-multiple connectivity options with the high quality power cables it comes with
-very well built
-can output PD up to 36W via USB-C as well, so it can power a third item (like my Tilta focus motor). Super-useful
-reduces the number of cables I have strung around my rig
-very light (it’s worth using it instead of actual NPF batteries for the weight-savings alone).
CONS
-none
NOTES
-this is definitely one of those products that you didn’t know you needed, until you learned about it and saw its potential.
-This is perfect for me to power a monitor, and an on-board LED light on the other side (and a third piece of kit, like a focus-motor) via PD.
-this gets a rare five stars from me, I like it that much.
MY STAR RATINGS:
1* substandard, mostly cons
2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros
3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros
4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons
5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros
This product comes inside a plain cardboard box; once opened, you’ll find this DIGITALFOTO D-Tap to NPF Dummy Battery. As of reviewing, this product costs 56.00, which I think is very reasonable for this dummy battery. It is made well and functions exactly as expected.
This product feels like it was made very well; it works as expected – it supports dual connectivity, which I don’t use but will be useful for some people.
very happy with this product, 100% recommend
