Duronic Extension Lead Tower ST10B Power Strip Cord Adaptor
Duronic Extension Lead Tower ST10B Power Strip Cord Adaptor 10 Gang Way | Surge & Spike Protector| Electric UK Multi Plug Socket Adapter | Max. 3000W Capacity | 1.8 Metre Power Cable, Black

A Good Buy
Having it stand on end means it takes up little floor space. My son uses it to power his consoles, computer, equipment, TV, music player and loads more. The safety features of the Duronic ST10B gives peace of mind as it protects from power surges.
effective use of Duronic ST10B
The 10 way connecting tower is ideal for connecting even the largest of accessory psu without interfering with other sockets on the block.I have used this socket on a television stand that has a 3″ diameter hole in all the shelves which means that the block can stand on the floor and be used on still be used for all equipment – this makes a tidy installatio

I have 7 plugs in this tower and is working well with no problems ,it is certainly stable and secure and will not fall over ,comes in 2 pieces and is a very good tight fit ,all in all a very good item at a bargain price and no issues a quality item from Duronic I like i
Must buy
This is a godsend, it also has the little surge light aswell and lets you know when its active which is cool.
But apart from this its made well, looks quality and is worth every penny.
I use a pc, 3 monitors, a router, an xbox and a ps4, a lamp, a phone charger leaving 1 slot and it’s never failed so far!
Good value with eight sockets
This is the second one of these I have purchased. They give you the option of using it vertically with the provided base or horizontally. Eight sockets give you plenty of space for all your electronics in a fairly compact footprint. The only negative is the fairly cheap appearance but if it is not on display it’s not really a major issue. My first one is still going after two years. Good value
Tidy
The Duronic 10 way 2 metre surge tower extension is real value for money. I was sick of having to bend to get the plugs in and out of extensions lying on the floor this is easier to use and a lot more tidier. The red surge light lets you know the surge protection is working while the green light lets you know the thing is turned on, may sound silly but when it’s for your freezer you want to know this.
Just the job.
These tower sockets offer a neater and tidier solution to several cables when plugged in. With the flat sockets, the cables are spread out and unless under a desk etc can look a mess. This tower solves that. It seems a well made unit, at a reasonable price, and I would buy again.
I just wish they would make one with individual switched sockets.
Helps to keep floor tidy!
I bought this following positive reviews here, and also being tired of having loads of wires all around the floor behind my desk, which is a corner of our sitting room. I was surprised by the lightness of the unit, but I put in 8 plugs, used twist ties for the wires lying around and .. wonderful, very neat and tidy. It is working well though I suppose I haven’t had a surge test on it but then again I don’t want to! looking good so far.
Best surge protector I've purchased
Great space saver, good looking and sturdy. It was put to the test within an hour of installing it in the house, with loads of mini power cuts hitting my supply. Absolutely no problem with this, it protected all of the devices which I had plugged in.
One design aspect I’d like to be addressed – separate switches for each socket would be great. Other than that, I recommend this.
UPDATED 09 June 2020 - Does what it says.
08 June 2020 Update.
Just received my second one, as the first one got fried following a local lightning strike. It worked and saved most of the AV equipment I have.
What it couldn’tdo was protect all the equipment from was the associated electro-magnetic pulse that effectively killed parts of. Most often the lightening strike causes in the surrounding area an over-voltage which will then come down the aerial or Satellite dish feed (s well as the mains) and cause damage on the various interconnected devices as it hunts for an earth path. It can also cause HDMI cables to fail.
But I am convinced the surge protector saved at least some of my gear.
Just wish that I could have got a black one again.
————-
Replaced two seperate power strips cluttering the floor behind the back of my TV A/V rack.
Has made everything a lot tidier and easier to organise the power cables going to 8 pieces of A/V equipment. And still two sockets free.
We are really pleased with this item… you can lie it flat or stand it upright in the nicely snuggly fitting stand provided. I like it because of the power surge factor, I can charge my Fitbit without having to go through my computer, and my husband likes the way it can stand on the floor next to his corner coffee table, allowing his tablet (which has a short lead) to be placed on the table whilst being charged. It has lots of sockets so I can see how if you have e.g. A computer plus other office stuff to plug in, it would be really good. There are no individual switches on each socket, so care obviously needs to be taken not to overload. I would recommended it.
Well worth the money
I was advised by my TV/computer knowledgeable friend to buy these to protect my electrical goods such as my TV, Set top box, DVD player etc. I bought two at 10.99 each (or one for 12.99) because I also need one at the other side of the room for my landline, PC, and chargers for my mobile and tablet. I’ve thrown my two old ones away which I paid about 5.99 each about 12 years ago as I know they won’t protect my electrical goods like these two new ones will. The base can be removed so they can be laid on the floor more out of sight as opposed to standing up
Great space save
This really helped to tidy up cables under my desk – I was using two 4 gang extensions and switched to this as it takes up a lot less space. Got it on offer for under 13 quid. Build quality is a bit cheap and it doesn’t come with a molded plug hence 4 stars.
I will update this review if I run into any issues!
Exactly as advertised
I have been asked to review this product, I did not receive any incentive or discount that could have swayed my opinion. This surge tower is well designed, arrived on time, was easy to set up and works without fuss. I reserve 5 stars for products that go above and beyond my expectations and so 4 stars is a score Duronic should be proud of.
Great item, it's just what I needed
Great item, it’s just what I needed. Plenty of sockets, however, I am not sure whether having so many sockets is a safe option. I make sure I unplug every night, no matter how tiresome this can be. I would recommend, only if you are safety contious.
Perfect :-)
I prefer these tower extensions and already have a white one which was a lot more money than this Duronic one. This one is unmissable because of the really good price & ITS BLACK! I like black because it won’t stick out like the white one and will blend in a lot better. After using it I was so glad I bought the Duronic extension. All round its perfect. 20/20.
Really good buy.
They hide perfectly behind my TV so are virtually unnoticeable…I have a lot of things attached through my TV and this tower has made everything easier and much tidier. I used the other one for my large fish tank, that again has lots of things needing plugged in and this does the job no problem. A really good buy.
Great solution for ever growing number of plugs behind the TV!
I was beginning to despair about the number of plugs accumulating behind my TV and was using a couple of smaller adapters which wasn’t ideal. This does the job perfectly, but I would agree with a previous reviewer that I think the power and surge lights should be nearer the top of the tower so they can be seen easier; once the bottom plug spaces are being used and the unit is sitting in it’s base, they are quite difficult to see. Despite that, I am delighted with it – just need to find something to tidy up the wires now!
So helpful and reliable.
As someone who owns multiple consoles, PCs and plenty of other tech like DSLR cameras and headsets. Having 10 sockets to plug into is incredibly handy! There is always room when I need it and i’ve experience no problems at all. It manages to run perfectly with all sockets in use together and being able to stand it behind my monitor makes to so easy to access and theres no risk of unplugging anything by accident when moving it which is a problem I had with standard, flat to floor extension leads! It’s been such a helpful piece of equipment and this was the second one I’ve bought because I wanted anther one for my living room!
Excellent Extensio
I don’t no when I bought this but I have been using this since September 2014 and still going strong. Its very handy for use at my university pad and it is 10 way so theres plenty of space to plug your sockets into. I am currently using 5 of these sockets and it’s definitely worth it. Its also surge protected so no fear of blowing things up.
I have not had any faults (touch wood) and its still going strong November 2016.
Excellent value for money and provides you with 10 surge protected sockets!
No moans here, does exactly what it says on the tin. When it arrives it comes in 2 pieces, you can put the stand on the bottom of it so it stands upright, or you can choose not to use the stand and simply lay the extension lead down on the floor or on a table.
For me an important factor is the surge protection, as this is connecting all my sensitive electronics for my smart home, so i have several hubs and boxes plugged into it and i do not want any electrical surges getting through to them that may render my beloved smart home items useless.
So would i recommend this item? Yes i would it does as it says and can free up your plugs by placing 10, yes 10 plug into one neat extension lead, plus of course it’s very good value for money too which is all important in these times of austerity.
Clean and tidy
This was one of those products where you always think it’s worth investing in but never get around to ‘upgrading’ (well if you’re me anyway). Perfect for busy hubs like a packed home office or behind the tv, 10 sockets was ample. Surprisingly sturdy when full. If you’re sick of trailing cables this certainly helps keep some of them off the floor and less tangled. I switched from a flat 8 way which protuded from the side of the TV. Now the tower is hidden for the most part which is great. It’s also possible to remove the plugs one handed which is nice if you’re constantly having to charge devices but don’t have a permanent spare charger and the tower is located underneath a desk.
Great extender with more plug sockets you know what to do with.
Great surge protector extenteder, I have had it well over a year now and it is still going strong. The extender handles my high powered computer along with other devices with no signs of giving up. It also looks great too and because it’s a tower there are plug sockets on both sides which have helped to keep it streamlined. I would reccommend this to anyone over a convensional looking extender.
10 way with surge protection for how much?
It’s no surprise they sell bucket loads of this product. Like many, I have so much tech in the living room and this tower is perfect for my needs. The sockets are well spaced to allow for power packs as well as your usual standard plugs. Not tested it’s surge protection capabilities, and hope that it’s never tested, but it gives you some peace of mind knowing it is there.
Delivery was very quick and the quality of the product is very good and exactly what I was looking for. The only cause for concern is that the image on the box looks like a black phallus in a 15 inch long box. I am not sure if the postman/wife thought I was buying an adult toy but it did raise some eyebrows in the house when I quickly disappeared to my study with it.
Look grea
Very nice tall tower with 5 x 2 banks of outlets. Surge protected is a bonus and the base has LED’s for surge and power. The white ones complement my AV setup well, though I swapped them out for the:-
Safemore 14 Way Outlet 2m Extension Lead Vertical Overload Protection Power Strip Adaptor with 4 USB Ports Charger-UK Plug
As they look so cool.
Excellent product and so glad I purchased i
Excellent product and so glad I purchased it. My plugs are now neat and tidy under my desk and my feet no longer get caught in wires. Also with an inquisitive toddler I can push it into the corner out of his reach unlike the previous trailing 4 way socket I had previously. The only thing I could criticise if I’m being picky is that as it is black and I have had to push it into a corner under my desk, it is not that easy to see the holes to put the plug into and I end up having to pull it out. Saying that though it does the job perfectly and I would definitely order again.
Surge tower plug adapter x10
My mother just had a stroke and found it hard to bend down to put plugs in and out of sockets, so I bought her this tower not only so it’s all on one power outlet, but she doesn’t have to bend down if she or my father needs to plug the cleaner/hairdryer in, it’s got so many plug ports, well worth the money and solid also. Red Light to show its on at the base
Rugged, perfectly functioning power tower that can hold its ow
As power towers go this is certainly up there. It feels rugged, bar the base which feels quite flimsy but as it’s a separate part from the main unit this isn’t too much of an issue… I like my power strips to feel solid and rugged and this certainly fits that bill.
Never had any issue with it and it now sits happily in one corner of our living room. Prior to this it has powered an array of TVs, games consoles and sound systems all at once without issue so can certainly handle the loads.
What I really needed
Really needed this for my set up as I have numerous consoles in one unit with some plugs lifting my previous extension lead off the floor as they weren’t long enough.
It blends into the background for me, looks cleaner and is very reasonably sized.
The only issue I seem to be having (not sure which is causing the problem) is that my PlayStation 4 had a problem where it kept going to sleep mode, turning off and restarting itself many times in a few minutes – even turning itself on and starting in safe mode when it was completely shut down. Using my previous extension seems to have resolved the issue, but everything else works great.
Only reason it’s 4 stars really is that I personally don’t like multiple devices being on standby mode. Ironic obviously since the purpose is to be able to connect multiple devices to it, but I have seen that there are some extensions that have individual switches to solve that. I found this to be better value at the time though, couldn’t resist!
Buy it before it to late !!!!!!
I will start off by saying that i had to learn the hard way. I plugged an android box into my standard extension lead, which also had my TV plugged into it and I immediately had a power surge. This resulted in my TV not working and getting a bill for 100 pounds to fix. Should have bought this along time ago but it’s one of those items you probably don’t think about until something bad happens!
This product does exactly what it should while also looking more elegant than a standard lead. It keeps tidy all your messy wires and is a steal at this price. Great product and very happy thank you!
Great space saver, well made
I’ve had a couple of these now and would buy again. It’s incredible how quickly the things we attached to computers and TVs multiply beyond the stand four and six way plugs. These seem well made, detachable stand which is stable. Good spacing between the plugs so you can attach large transformer type plugs. They’re a great space saver, look a lot neater and clearly 10 sockets gives you a lot of flexibility.
Well Built, Looks good and does the job
I brought this after my old surge protector did it’s job, it still works but there was no way I was going to let it power my expensive desktop, and work laptop. So I brought this as I needed more sockets and it is was cheaper than replacing it for the same gang.
It seems to be well built and does the job from what I can see, the only thing I did do was hot glue the base to the bottom of the unit so I can hang it underneath my desk without it slipping out (it just slides in there isn’t securing screws), not a big issue for most but for my application I would of liked to see securing screws or something along those lines.
It’s a nice unit and far better looking than the ugly white ones you usually end up with. 4 stars because I would have liked to see a securing system on the base, the unit itself is 5 stars.
No issues, love i
his is the second one I have bought. I have had the first one for almost 2 years and have had absolutely no problems with it. I have added some extra lights to the tree and other things this year, so didn’t hesitate in buying another one for that. I can highly recommend this product for it’d reliability and value.
A good product at a great price
The first thing I noticed when opening the packaging to the Duronic Tower was just how light it is. However, this does not detract from its ability to stand vertically with all 10 sockets in use.
As expected, it allows the cables from plugs to be a little tidier than a standard extension lead that is left on a floor and at a great price compared with other similar products.
Good design, great for keeping cables tidy
Didn’t buy this for its surge protection features, just because I needed more plugs available behind my TV. The vertical design makes a big difference in how tidy you can keep all the wires plus 10 sockets should be enough for anyone. It seems well made and is very stable when stood up – as long as you put larger power adapters in the lower sockets!
I don't suffer from power surges but do like the idea of some protectio
As a geek that plays electronic instruments and likes computers and gaming, I need plugs… lots of plugs. So having 10 plugs all in a small area makes things much easier. I use one downstairs and one upstairs and they both work well and help make cabling more compact.
I don’t suffer from power surges but do like the idea of some protection. Having the surge protection does seem to help the power delivery. For example I noticed my TV signal was much better (cleaner) after plugging my aerial booster into the ST10B. Instant;y the signal was improved, so it seems this had an unexpected benefit and delivers a smoother power source than my wall sockets.
GOOD PRICE and option of stand or floor mount 🙂
THANKS
Fit for purpose... But be careful...
I’ll be honest, I was expecting a longer cable (extension). That being said, it’s just about long enough to meet my needs, so It’s not a big deal. Perhaps it’s my own inability to judge just how long 2 meters is, but it does seem way less. Anyway, I only mention this as an ‘avoid my mistake’ kind of thing for other buyers, in that you should find out beforehand if a 2 meter cable extension will suit your purposes.
If so, I’d say get this one. I’ve had zero problems with it so far, it’s nice and compact and has its own nifty little stand. For the price I don’t think you can go wrong. I certainly don’t regret getting it (after I got over my little length-related heartbreak :P)
Good but packaging wasn't grea
Pro’s:
I bought this because I needed more plugs for my PC, PS3, PS4, printer, speakers, monitor, shredder and mobile chargers. I got the 10 way plugs and at the time is was 9.99 + 4.10 UK delivery. In shops I saw 6 plugs extension for 9.99. It came very quickly but I expected that due it not having free delivery. I’ve been using it for a day now and I’ve had no issues yet.
Con’s:
The product itself is great but the packaging could be better. It comes in a plain brown box and with a small piece of paper that has instruction/safety guidelines. It’s nothing professional and not a big deal to be honest.
Also for me the product wasn’t completely clean which can be annoying for all you OCD people out there. Mine had some kind of sticker residue that came off when I used a few slightly wet tissues. Again it’s not a big deal because I’m not going to be touching the extension tower a lot.
I've used a couple of Duronic products now and can hand on heart say they have been great.
Handy 10 way plug. I have more plugs then any man should need all running from one socket in one room. I found this tower style design to be ideal to help with making it all look neat and tidy and I can discreetly hide the tower behind my desk. I’ve used a couple of Duronic products now and can hand on heart say they have been great.
as it stands up it is surprisingly space saving and great value, have bought another one for another room
I bought a surge protector after a power surge in an old flat left an expensive Blu-Ray and surround system completely dead, needless to say I am a convert and now anything mildly expensive gets one! It’s a peace of mind knowing that my hard earned electricals are safe..
This Duronic model fits the bill for under desks or behind TVs, as it stands up it is surprisingly space saving and great value, have bought another one for another room. The cable is a good length too which is always a nightmare if wrong!
Great solution!
Brought two of these for each socket in my bedroom. This product is a great idea if you are concerned about the amount of electrical devices that are plugged into your wall sockets. It also saves the amount of messy extension leads that are used to plug multiple devices in at once. This tower doesn’t just work as it should; but it also looks very smart and the cables are more organised. There is also a raised confidence in terms of electrical safety, as this product comes with surge protection meaning that if you do encounter an electrical surge, those devices that are plugged into the tower will be safe. This tower is also very sturdy and takes a little force to push over. This tower also has a huge 10 sockets, meaning that up to 10 electrical devices can be plugged in at once. However be careful that the devices you plug in don’t exceed the maximum wattage! This product would not be suitable to power power hungry appliances such as a heater.
Better than a flat extension lead
The extension feels fairly well made but it isn’t overly tactile or solid and the stand itself is not substantial but is up to the task. However it certainly does the job and having the sockets upright tidies up the mass of wires for all the usual electronic toys and boxes that reside in the living room. I didn’t really appreciate how much easier it is having an upright socket than one that is flat to the floor and whilst this will obviously depend on your own layout I have found it to be a great boon.
Highly recommended at a reasonable price.
Its effective and apparently unusually interesting.
Ok where to begin, Its a good extension lead.. The stand holds it bolt upright and it looks sturdy as anything on my office floor. Each socket is placed at an angle which is handy to if you want to keep your wires neat. Funnily enough a lot of people seemed to be really impressed by this product for some unusual reason, I get a lot of my clients commenting on what a good design it is. Perhaps im just so boring that I make even an extension tower lead look impressive! Recommended, Good product, great price and lighting fast delivery.
Great for a tidy and safe tv setup
Just received this surge tower and the Velcro straps made and sent by duronic, and they do the job great, I had a very jumbled amount of leads behind the tv video and hi fi centre and a talktalk box, that needed clearing up which I can now say is done and looks a 100 times better, should have done it before, but its one of those jobs that just don’t get to the top of the list but for safety its should be, and for the price its great value and would recommend anyone who has a tangle of wires that needs sorting to use these two items together and you wont be disappointed.
Essential addition to any home computer set up.
If you are fed up of having the usual flat back extension adapter laid on the floor looking something like a dead squid, or fixed to a wall giving the appearance of a dead rose bush in your room, get one of these, cable management is simple because the sockets on either side are orientated in opposite directions, you can arrange the power supplies for your speakers, external drives, router, etc. etc. to all go in one direction and because the adaptor stands vertically it can be hidden behind a monitor or the computer case. The only possible downside is, … Your cat has to find a new “warm spot” to sleep on.
Great Power connectiion/extenders
I have now bought 2 of these power extensions, as they are ideal for situations where you need several power points. Mine are used to connect my various TV boxes/recorders and also for my PC/server setup.
They take up little floor space, and the power connections are easy to plug/unplug. They have an indicator which shows that something is plugged in and withdrawing power.
10 way surge towe
purchased as a replacement for my existing multi socket board and it is great it is small and un-intrusive, it fits in a small space beside my desk and is easy to access.
My only problem was when I plugged in two heavy power packs into the tower it felt a little unstable, having now place these power packs in the bottom sockets it has made it more stable,
I have place my plugs from the bottom up not as recommended top down which makes it very stable as the weight is closer to the base also for those pieces of equipment I use onl occasioally it is easier to access the upper sockets
A good piece of equiptment and good value for the price
Great Produc
This really is a fantastic product – that impressed with it I recently brought another 1!
It is just so convenient, especially if you have a lot of electrical equipment either in your office or under/around your TV etc. I went from having 3 extension leads to just this one tower – and it has just tidied everything up, so it looks much more manageable and tidy.
Got another for my office and same thing, down from 3 to 1. And it just keeps everything much tidier.
The fact it is surge protected as well is great for peace of mind.
Would definitely recommend this product for anyone who has lots of electrical equipment and needs one convenient solution to manage them all.
You have chosen... wisely.
When I took the stand out of the parcel I thought it looked a bit flimsy, my fears were quickly put to rest after inserting the power strip into the stand.
It’s sturdy enough not just for 10 plugs but as in my case an assortment of plugs and weighty power bricks.
Top product and about half the price of one from the high street.
So good I bought another!
This is the second time I have purchased this item, its ergonomic design saves space, and the surge protection is essential for any PC set-up, as it prevents damage to sensitive circuitry.
It’s easier to reach the sockets, even when it’s placed behind a desk, due to its vertical design. The sockets are angled, so it is easier to fit some of those awkwardly shaped adaptors in line.
Best Extension Socket I Have Ever Purchased
The best multi socket I have ever purchased.
Firstly the surge protection, I can’t comment how good that is as I have never had a surge, well I assume I haven’t as the little green light is still on and I believe that goes off if you have suffered one.
The design sits lovely under a desk on the floor and the angle of the sockets means you don’t loose any with those annoying shaped adapters you get on many of your gadgets.
More sturdy than I expected, it isn’t easy to knock it over and I would deffinitely purchase another.
All plugged i
I like this tower as it stands in a small space. It is a bit lightweight for my liking but it does the job for my computer and printer and with the surge protection I feel safe. It also does for my sewing machine and a light while I have my music machine plugged in too. I don’t put anything with a high wattage into the sockets. It tends to topple if too many appliances are added. Arrived well packaged and in good time.
a bit more space needs to provided between each socket position or better still, industry standardisation of plug dimensions and
I have purchased at least 6 of these units over the last two years in order to overcome growing 13 amp socket deficiency. They have all proved to be functional, reliable and robust. One point though, some of the pre-molded 13 amp plugs are being made so massive these days that its difficult to position them in adjacent sockets on these units. The obvious workaround is to leave an unused socket inbetween such plugs or just plant a smaller plug inbetween. So, perhaps, a bit more space needs to provided between each socket position or better still, industry standardisation of plug dimensions and design.
Very good for tidying up messy TV or audio equipment and ...
Very good for tidying up messy TV or audio equipment and has allowed me to get the TV unit closer to the wall than a standard bar extension. Not so handy for things you may need to remove and put back on regularly, such as laptop power units and chargers, as it feels like you are stressing the sides of the unit. Stable enough on its stand though and a decent length of cable. This feels as safe and secure as any standard extension bar I have used. So while it is very cheap I wouldn’t worry about the quality
I haven't experienced any melting so far like some of the reviews
So far – it’s been working perfectly, the stand that it comes with is removable so if you want to lay it down you can. However I have mine on the tower makes it easier for me to plug stuff in as I go on. I haven’t experienced any melting so far like some of the reviews. I leave mine on and plugged in overnight so I feel if it were to happen, it should of by now.
In conclusion so far – Really impressed, definitely recommend.
I bought this in conjunction with another 8 gang extention lead. This one to sit on the floor for easy access, the other to hide away on top of a cupboard. This one has a very generous 10 sockets and they are angled at around 45 degrees so you will be unlikely to have issues with those bulky adapters that were designed to get in the way. the base isn’t very weighty and it would have benefited from being much heavier lower down to provent knocking it over and the base isn’t strongly attached, it just pushes on and off. Whether either of these will actually be a problem I don’t know, but both are fair moans against an otherwise excellent product.
The adapter itself is surge protected, and has lights to indicate the status at the bottom. One for power and one for the surge protection status. If that light isn’t glowing, then you aren’t protected. A nice feature especially since most of these surge protected devices have thermal fuses that will blow if enough power is pushed through them. Even the more expensive belkin ones work on the same principle.
Overall, this is a nice little 10 gang socket at the price, you are getting some nice features, plenty of sockets that are angle to be useful no matter what and you get the extra happiness from having that surge protection. At this price it’s a steal, shame about the flimsy weightless base.
Good for multiway and surge protection...
I’m not sure this kind of product can warrant a 5 star review until it is protects the equipment from a surge. And that said I can only say it supposedly does what it says on the packet. I have two of these “protecting” electronics in different areas of the lounge and effectively part of cable management as I do like how it stands upright.
As someone has pointed out on packaging though, it is a one time surge protecting device but this kind of money that’s fine as it will have hopefully saved anything that was powered through it. But at this money it is practically disposable/replaceable easily.
Great for the price.
Does what I need, that being double sided extension. Not a 50 surge control plug, but it does the job needed for my requirements. The stand is easy to be knocked over, so you need to ensure you either don’t pull on the plug or leave it laying down.
For the money its not worth arguing over the lack of surge control, for my expensive stuff I have the correct extensions.
Grea
Bought this for behind our TV where we have TV, amplifier, CD player, Bluetooth adaptor, YouView box, phone, DVD player, Playstation, powerline link etc. all in one place. A very tidy alternative to the usual sockets lying on the floor. I can plug and unplug items reasonably easily and all the wires are (a bit) less tangled.
Probably the best quality tower extensions in the lower price range!
Quality piece of kit, Iv got 4 Duronic surge protected towers of varying sizes in different rooms of my house and I run a lot of electrical items off them (32inch tv, couple of 21inch monitors and two hefty self built computers both with 600 watt power units on them off one alone) with no problems at all – if I wasn’t in the LEAST bit sure about these tower extensions there’s NO WAY I’d risk attaching my kit to them!! And for those worried that the towers will overbalance, the bases are actually very stable – just plug items in from the bottom upwards and alternating each side and you can’t POSSIBLY go wrong!
but it still looks pretty cool and saves a bit of floor space too
I’d give it a 10 star if I could for each plug socket. Its more than I need really, but it still looks pretty cool and saves a bit of floor space too. Wires are a lot tidier too. Just a little warning it can be easy to overload the mains if you use lots of heating devices like an iron or electric heater.
What a great extension lead socke
I must admit that with all my gadgets and their plugs the and 3 way adapter boxes going into the sockets of my flat 5 way extension lead im surprised I didn’t blow the junction box , but then I discovered this item and its probably the best surge protected extension lead I could’ve bought as its not only very neatly able to be tucked away out of sight but every single plug now has its own socket and im protected from power surges and spiking that could interfere with things. The price was great too and I would highly recommend this item to anyone with a number of plugs they need to use but not enough sockets to cater for their needs .
Great gang socke
I wanted a sturdy extension that provided a whole bunch of power outlets, with surge protection included. This meets that nicely.
The base is removable, so you can lie it flat if you want, but bear in mind that there are 5 sockets on opposite sides, so unless you only use one side it’s not going to remain particularly flat. It’s sturdy construction, and works just fine.
At last !
Something practical to take my myriad of plugs and make them look semi respectable ! Normal man cave computer cable nightmare. ….. sorted !!! Take a little time to plug everything into this unit from the bottom up in a logical order and it’s a thing of pure beauty 🙂 Seriously, a good unit and I like the vertical design. Once fitted into the stand it works well. I actually have 2 these that have replaced 3 of the standard ugly white, long floor ones. Good buy !
Brillia
I ordered this extension lead to do away with plugs and tidy up the area at the computer. It fits in lovely in the space between the wall and the desk out of harms way and kids way and holds all the plugs I need with a couple spare. It makes the place neater and tidier and more so safer and is also surge protected. I would highly recommend this and the price is brilliant compared to being charged nearly double for exact same thing at other outlets
Tower Extension Socke
I have been using 2 x 6 socket horizontal extension leads to cater for all the AV appliances which were white, hard to conceal and not all the transformers could be placed adjacent to each other without the use of a “cube” 2/3 way socket.
This Tower is black and meshes with the colours of all my AV equipment. Plus all the transformers can be accommodated. It is now a very inconspicuous piece of kit.
At the price it is fantastic. I had previously been looking ones twice the price. So I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.
Second Time Around...
I sent away for three Duronic vertical 10 gang surge protected extension sockets nearly a year ago to protect my expensive computer equipment etc., at the time. They stand unobstructively with their warning lights on constant to remind one of their important work. Some reviewers have put them down. My answer to this is you can see what they look like before you buy and all the info giving, so you get what you pay for…I’m very satisfied with this product and I’ve just bought another one for another part of my home. Does this not answer the criticts?
regards,
John.
many sockets and tidy cables
yes, can only confirm.
the product is light and I was a bit worried that it is just cheap China junk.
but as it is upright you can easily plug and unplug the cables, looks tidier.
It has screws so you can change the 13A fuse in case it blows.
– no switch
– no USB
cannot have everything. was shopping around for ages to find the same item a friend has but was not willing to pay 30quid for it.
Tidy and clever plu angle and spacing
Got this today and I have to say I’m very impressed. Very clever angling of the plugs to keep the wires from tangling and also this allows larger plugs to fit side by side. The tower aspect is great, very easy to tuck away in a corner beside my desk. I like the black colour too it somehow makes it less intrusive that the usual rather ugly which ones. This has a ‘high tech’ look, much more modern than the white equivalent. All working so far, highly recommend it!
Great for areas around computers
I bought this tower extension pack to meet my large socket requirement around my computing area in my flat. I was drawn to the vertical setup which would allow me to keep the floor area much clearer.
10 plugs provides me with ample sockets for the different appliances I have although I should point out that I don’t have them all in use at the same time.
Very useful item
Why do modern flats have so few sockets?
My media set-up is very plug heavy (TV, Soundbar, Subwoofer, Youview, Bluray, AppleTV, Airport Express) – so I really needed one of these. And also one that is rugged enough to cope with the power draw.
This fits the bill. Being upright it takes up no space at all (so can be easily hidden away), its sturdy, and 10 sockets means I can add even more tech to my set-up
Result!
Plus its cheaper than at Mapli
Budget multi-socket - does exactly what you need
Product arrived exactly as described. For the number of power points I need in a home office this has been perfect. I now have a few extra slots for peripherals (charging phones, cameras, games console etc.. without having to re-plug.)
The Tower Extension was replacing a standard 4 point flat extension and it is much better – easier to manage cables as you can more clearly see where they are coming from without having the other cables lying on top.
It is well built, but is not as solid as a more expensive unit. I have no concerns with safety etc..
Base just slots into the extension – very easy to do.
Overall, very happy with this and would recommend.
Good but be aware.
This is a very well built surge protector. The only problem I found with it is this, it does not have individual on/off buttons for the sockets. In other words if your idea is to plug in all your components into it and want some of them off while you use something you cant! All will be turned and on standby. All in all a very good Surge protector and very nicely priced.
Neat and Useful tower extension lead
A good product, which gave me an excellent opportunity to tidy up the trailing leads hidden behind my TV for the set, Surround sound system, Bluray player, digibox, Sky wi fi receiver, lamp etc. Having the sockets offset at 45 degrees is a good idea as it allows for even the bulkier sockets with built in transformers to sit alongside one another.
This is a smart piece of kit at a great price. Can be either vertical or taken out of the base stand and laid horizontal. The gap between the plug points is big enough to allow the extra sized units which seem to be common place with routers, cable etc.
Not only has this extension allowed me to get rid of two of the old style 2 gang ones it’s helped tidy my wires up and made all of the plugs easy to access. On top of that it also provides the surge protection which I was really after.
Having many electronic devices needing plenty of sockets I felt that I definitely need to purchase this.
I was nervous at first, as I am a complete novice when it comes to electrical plugs and voltages etc…
I was so pleased to find that, for me, this socket tower gave me no problems bearing in mind that I use all the sockets in one go with heavy usage..
I also purchased a 12 way from the same company for my tv.
Tidies up my desk
Chose this after days reading reviews. I needed something to tidy up my study, be reachable, and accommodate lots of computer bits, dect phone, the hoover on occasions etc. I had in mind a large capacity wall mountable extension lead with individually switched sockets but such things are rarer than hens teeth and very pricey. In the end I saved money, chose this, and connected it into an existing extension lead with one switch. I now don’t have to lie on the floor to connect things (in my 70’s), and by using the other switched extension lead I can kill all the items at once, which makes night time safety checks easy.
I am pleased with it – I chose the white one for appearance, but it sits neatly behind my monitor and is out of site 90% of the time. I would have no hesitation in buying similar again, as we work our way round the house rationalising what we have brought with us in our downsizing move.
Brilliant, but no equipment warranty?
For years I’ve used Belkin Surge Master extenders as they’ve pretty renowned for their quality and reliability. However, they have one pretty major flaw. They’re awful with large A/C plugs. The sort that come with external hard drives and small externally-powered devices.
For a while I ended up just alternative which sockets I used, leaving an empty port go unused just so that the large plugs could fit in. Meaning my 8 socket belkin was now only able to fit 4 devices.
After a while I caved and bought a Duronic 10 port Surge Protected splitter. Which means I can use each port without blocking another socket as they’re all side-by-side. By having each side of the device have 5 ports it also means the device isn’t 3 foot long.
It surprises me that Belkin haven’t been so smart with their own designs.
It seems to be working well, of course time will tell whether the Surge Protection is effective or not.
One important point to mention is Belkin offer a 175,000 Connected Equipment Warranty. Whereas Duronic don’t seem to offer any equipment warranty at all.
So it’s probably a safer bet to go with a Belkin unless you are really in need of all those sockets.
10 Way Surge Towe
I purchased 2 of these 10 Way Duronic ST10W 10 Way surge sockets and I am really pleased I did, they have certainly tidied up all the wires to various equipment I use and saves on using a lot of extention leads. They take up minimal space and fit nicely into any corner or space where electrical equipment is. I would recommend these to anyone especially to use for computers and all the other things that go with the computers. Great value for the price you pay. Duronic ST10W – 10 Way 2 Metre surge Tower Extension Lead Socket – 2M – Engineered to tell you when its surge protected
Good Produc
I was impressed by the price of this product, and it was dispatched quickly and arrived on time, and it is an easy product to set up, simply click the base on (it will fit either way round) and then simply plug in all your products you want to protect, then plug the extension lead in and switch on and all sorted.
It has a light that is supposed to come on when in surge protection mode to advise you if it is working in surge mode, but as they operating light is next to it, it is hard to see if it is actually lit for surge protection mode or not, and as I don’t stare at it all day, I can’t say if it has ever been in surge protection mode or not, so all I do is leave it to work on its own.
I too have seen it spark heavily when I removed a plugged in item, that I need to move and the only improvement I could ask for is if each of the 10 sockets had a separate switch, so you could switch off individual items before removing the plugs, instead of having to switch off all products connected to it, that would be better, but then the price would no doubt rise!
All in all i would order another one if I needed it, but I may look for one that has individual switches for each plug socket.
Surge Tower Extensio
Good product that does away with those floor strip extensions, that so easily gathers dust, fitting two rows of plugs either side. The tower stand is small enough to fit behind TV stands and the colour doesn’t draw attention to the array of wires and plugs it is supplying. It can also accommodate most plug transformer adaptors in adjacent slots owing to it’s slanted socket over socket set-up. Surge protection light also shows if unit is still functioning correctly (replace otherwise!).
I have spaced out plugs as much as I can though, to avoid any over-heating that might occur.
Would get 5 stars if sockets were individually switched but for appliances that ‘need’ to be permanently on it’s perfect.
Twice as many sockets as I expected
Hadn’t realised there were sockets on both sides – ten whole spaces to plug things in. Bliss,
This has totally transformed the area round my desk. Instead of grovelling underneath things I now have a lovely jubbley tower with an intsy weeny footprint on my desk that powers the laptop, the projector screen, the speakers, the printer, the ipad, the phone, the wireless network, the desk lamp and still have spaces!
1 trip wonde
I have 2 of these 10 way surge protectors now … One in white in the office, and the other in black for my AV gear.
The plastic is robust enough, but slightly cheap looking, but who cares, it isn’t on show.
All plugs fit snugly and it has tamed the vipers nest that previously existed.
If you do suffer a surge, and the system blows, then this unit will be fit for the bin as there is no reset … Having said that, I cold have paid twice the price for an anti-surge with reset.
I was happy enough to buy a second socket, but do wish the lead was a smidge longer.
Duronic 10-way surge tower - good produc
I wanted to tidy up ‘the feed’ to my new TV stand and I figured that this device would deliver power at the right height for each shelf.
It is trivial to put together, very stable and does offer more than enough sockets at the right height. It sits conveniently behind the cable trunk at the back of the stand and so is out of the way.
Now I need to figure out what to do with all the power cables that are longer than necessary, but never mind.
I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another if I had the same problem elsewhere.
Very Useful if you need a lot of sockets
You will need to read the reviews as I did before purchase, however, the gist is this will only protect against one surge, then the fuse is blown and the socket has to be replaced (green light goes out). There is plenty of advice in the reviews for anyone who wants something more. For me the tower is a great space saver. The offset sockets make it easy to gain access and plug in or pull out plugs. Its simple to assemble, just push the base on and away you go. The plastic base and case feel a little on the cheap side, but sufficient for a product that is going to sit in an out of the way spot and not move to much. My thought is that if your chosen use is going to subject it to a lot of wear and tear you might look at something more substantial.
One trip pony
with the plethora of cables now needed to support my AV set up, the back of my TV looked a bit like a Viper’s den … very untidy, and tended to drag my attention away from the screen.
What I needed was a decent 10 way Tower Socket and the Duronics ST10B seems to fit the bill quite nicely.
OK, the plastic is not top quality, and once it trips, there is no way to reset, but i’m paying 15 quid, not 30.
I have now tamed the viper’s den … with the addition of some velcro straps, and have a couple of spare sockets if needed in the future.
I would have preferred it if the lead was a metre longer … the description states 2M, but I’m sure mine came up short …
Good value for money. I have both the white version (in the office) that I have been using for nearly a year now, and the new black one for the AV stuff.
Happy so fa
Just the job!
I bought this to tidy up the snake’s nest of leads behind my TV, and liked the fact you can stand it upright instead of laying it on the floor where it would disappear under all the wires. I was also pleased to get a surge protected unit at a reasonable price, and with 10 sockets there was plenty of room for expansion. I’m currently running a TV, set top box, DVD/VCR player, table lamp and wireless internet adapter thingy, so still plenty of empty sockets reaady for the Xmas tree lights in a couple of months.
I’m very pleased with my purchase.. it does what it says on the tin, arrived quickly, and didn’t cost the earth. Would happily recommend & may in fact order another one for my home office when the wiry mess behind the computer desk starts to get out of hand! :o)
Really great purchase
I think this is one of the best extensions out there. not only does it have the plug in capacity for 10 sockets, but it also saves alot of space. also making all the wires look tidier.
My only concern is there is no colour option when you make the purchase, i really wanted a black one to go with the rest of the furniture, but i ended up with a white one, even though the picture shows a black one. i contacted the seller and they were happy to replace it. so when take care when your opening the box as you may need to reuse it to send it back.
I got this to try and tidy up the rat’s nest of cables behind my computer. I’d got a 6-way and a 4-way adapter for the various bits of kit – printers, sub-woofers etc. and this combined the two and tidied things up very nicely. The reason I haven’t given it five stars is it’s got one thing missing that I found really irritating – it’s not got a power switch! For me that’s a necessity, as my power sockets are hidden behind a large bookcase and I like to kill the power to all my equipment in one go. So I had to rig up a short single-socket extension with a power switch to sort that and everything is now fine.
Duronic 10 Way Surge Tower :)
Does exactly what I require. I have a lot of plugs(around 15) for a variety of devices all with cables strewn everywhere and had a number of extension cables lying uinder my desk wich was very untidy (and probably a fire hazard)! Now I’m down to just two and this Duronic has made the area so much tidier. Takes up less space too as it stands as a tower.
Nothing could mark this down on and delighted I git one.
First class.
A good idea at a sensible price
I have recently had some new equipment and decided while installing it to try to tidy it up. Part of the problem is the amount of sockets needed for all the IT equipment in the home office. This will help both tidy things up and protect the PC and laptops plugged into it. Now all I need is a neat place to put all the mains ac adapters that everything seems to need these days.
Great product, great value!
If I need a multi-extension socket product again in the future I’ll be back here to buy another. Does that say enough? On the negative side (and it’s only a minor point) the base section could do with some ballast to make it more stable. How about a switched version too – maybe 5 switched and 5 unswitched sockets? That would be a really brilliant product!
Firstly, this has so far been a no frills yet quality item. Ligtweight it doesn’t feel cheap and does what it says on the tin. WHilst perhaps not as ncie looking as my masterplug one, if you could use the term nice looking for plugs it does everything I need at a fraction of the cost of a branded alternative. All my plugs fit nicely and delivery from amazon was swift.
The two lights indicate its on and working but I’m not sure how, if even you can, reset it after a surge. Hoepfully I’ll never need to. One nice feature on my other one, whcih would have been nic eon this one is a push in switch at the peak for turning the whole strip off/on, but then you only get what you pay for!
Very good product and I’m happy with it!
Tower Of Powe
Duronic 10 Way (2 Metre) Tower Extension Socket.
I recently purchased one of these to tidy up the cables behind my computer desk.
What a great product, not only does it have TEN outlets each outlet is angled so that the dreaded low voltage “BRICK” adapters fit without covering an adjacent socket. SUPERB!
I was impressed with how stable it is once located in its stand. Now all those cables are hidden away from view my desk looks tidy again.
Coupled with the Surge Protection, I have found the Duronic 10 Way Tower, to be my Tower Of Power!
Thanks for a superb product, and a fast delivery.

Great item...just the job
As you would expect it tidy’s all your power cables up a treat and with 10 sockets plenty to go round and in fact more then needed but always better to have then not to have… the only couple of things i can fault it on would be the cheap base (but dose it’s job) and i found pushing the plugs all the way in was a bit of a fiddle really having to support your hand quiet firm to finish off the last portion of the prongs home on the plug.
Dose what it’s meant to do and at that money surge protection is a well bonus… well please and a must have for any set up that needs protection from surges in the power grid
Duronic 10-way surge protecto
Well designed product with 5 sockets each on two opposite sides. The sockets are set at an angle so that the trailing cable from the socket above does not obstruct the socket beneath it. Each individual socket is not switched but this is not a problem. The socket tower sits in a detachable base unit which can be easily removed if required but I would not recommend doing that. There are 2 warning lights on one side of the sockets indicating mains power and surge protection. The actual extension lead is approx 2m in length so it should be long enough for most uses.
The only niggle I have is that the plastic used for the socket tower is not smooth to the touch and you can not stick labels on the tower to identify the individual sockets ie. tv, sky box, cable box, dvd etc.
Apart from that little niggle the socket tower is well designed and well made.
Simple but effective
Having a vertical 10 way extension socket rather than two five-way sockets laying on the floor has enabled a solution to having leads everywhere – they now go to one location and are removed from the computiong table footwell, so connections remain unaffected and, because the power leads are out the way, aerials and internet cables are less cluttered and also remain undisturbed.
The plastic stand is rigid and stable enough and the 2m cable is long enough to remove the cables from the immediate vicinity of the plug.
Very pleased with product and price, I’d recommend buying this instead of a 5-way as everything computing will need separate plugs (internet, external drives, speakers, monitors, computer, router etc etc) – best to buy the best and “too many” plugs rather than replace further down the line.
Duronic 10 way Towe
I was fed up with having plugs in long gangs which take up so much room. Then I bought this product which takes up to 10 plugs & is also surge protected. It can be hidden easily behind appliances which eliminates seeing ugly wires trailing around your appliances. I have now bought another one & would really recommend this product to anyone needing a multi point.
I bought this because I was sick of the menagerie of 4-ways and leads getting tangled under my desk and also tripping myself up over them. It, needless to say, takes up a lot less floor space and keeps everything much more orderly, which is essential when you have as many trailing leads as I do with my home studio set-up.
It’s worked fine even with all 10 sockets in active use at once; no cutting out of power or slowing down of operation at all. Thoroughly recommended and great value for money; I’ll be back for more of these.
