Top of the line newest Google pixel. It’s on the higher end of the cost scale but handles games, streaming, browsing and light computer work easily. Easy to set up from a previous phone and works out of the box with O2
I had a major dither buying this phone. A lot of this was caused by people saying there were issues with the battery life and other negative backchat. Honestly, battery is fine – at the end of a ‘normal’ day it is still saying 65%, which is fine by me.
The cameras are – as everyone says – absolutely superb. I am a commercial photographer of 40 years and the images off this thing are incredible, believe me. I always buy phones with good cameras, but this sets a new standard.
I bought my phone as an opened/returned unit from Amazon/Google. Saved 200 – unit is perfect, just a tiny mark on the box but who cares?
Updates from Google have rolled in over last two weeks – it just gets better.
Glass back is pretty but slippery as a wet fish, so I bought the genuine Google Pixel case in Parchment white to match my phone. Frankly overpriced but really nice in the hand and well made, so like other reviewers of this case have said – just pay the money, you won’t regret it.
Been having problems with speakers on iPhones since the iPhone XS Max. Every iPhone I’ve had since then (12 pro & 13 pro max) have all had issues with speakers after owning them for 6 months. A fair few people I know have had the Pixel and said how good they are so decided to get one myself. I’ve had my Google Pixel 8 pro now for a fair few months and I absolutely love it. I will never go back to iPhone. Don’t get me wrong if you’ve known nothing but iPhone it will take some time to get used to Android but it won’t take long. No issues with speakers as of yet and cameras, apps and overall design of the phone are great.
Having come from Samsung flagship phones, I was excited to try something different. Overall it’s a good phone but it’s just not as smooth an experience as Samsung. Apps crash, including Google’s own apps way more than ever happened on Samsung. AI features are fine but way overhyped. Camera is very good.
Was easy to set up from old phone . Awesome screen, better than on my iPhone 15. Camera also looks better than on iPhone 15. I have set Google pixel watch 2 with 256 GB Google pixel 8 pro phone, they both work awesome together. Shame in my area no 5 g ,so I couldn’t test it on 5g. Overall is fast ,sleek, very responsive phone. I found a lot features what I can’t get on iPhone 15 pro. Is revelant to 10-12 core processor and has 12 GB DDR5 ram. Games do easy. can watch 4 k movies. Performance is spot on ,no issues with apps, lagging or freeze. I tried option set on one hand use, did not make difference when activated it, work same without activating one hand. On iPhone 15 pro face recognition worked better. But screen, camera, video 8 pro fir me looks better. Is definitely phone for photographers and media lovers. My verdict: if you like android phone go for it 8 pro definitely is flagman
Definitely needs a cover for it as it’s slippery.
Google pixel starting beat up iPhone
So… I’ve been an apple user for a very very long time. I love apple. Having said that, I bored of them. I feel as though there as been little REAL innovation. I’ve been interested in the pixel for a long time. Especially in the camera.
I was worried that I couldn’t handle Android, that the eco system would be too complex. It’s early days, but so far so good.
Seems easy to use . Battery seems OK. Not brilliant but no awful.
Camera seems awesome.
I’ll try to update again soo
Would highly recommend if you want the best camera and photo software on the market. This is the best Android experience you can get and the price makes this a complete package.
Pros:
1.Photos are phenomenal with tons of editing options
2.Magic Editor AI and Eraser is wild
3. Build quality
4.Beautiful flat bright screen
5.Best Android UI experience with 7yrs of support/updates
Cons:
1.Battery is average
2.Charging speeds aren’t great
3. Thermometer is a gimmick
Very good Device ,you will love it in every day use ,the only drawback is getting warm under sun or high temperature weather and accordingly it getting slow the performance and ask to close some applications as the device getting hot otherwise all perfect vs its price.
The actua display is very smooth, great looking phone, best battery life, AI features have been improved especially the magic editor and the camera is amazing.
Although some of the features not available as google promised to provide in December.
My full review will be updated late
