Easy to connec
Very useful for attaching the iPhone to a HDMI display or projector. Depending on the iPhone or iPad used you get different quality results but that’s not the fault of this device. I’ve found it very useful for instructing clients staff how to use VPN connections properly for example.
This works with website based tv streaming – eg: BBC iPlayer (don’t use the app, log into the website, turn your phone sideways & it’s full screen on the TV). Photo is of a BBC program running off player website, so you can see it in action.
For other app-based subscriptions, like Netflix Hulu etc.. you need to screen share/ attach an external receiver for them (sigh) and then hope your other device can create a network properly etc etc. At least this is simple, hdmi in one end, plug & play.
I have an official apple dongle for my iPad (usbC) and it doesn’t have this problem with Netflix / prime etc, so I am not sure if it’s an iPhone related issue or this dongle related. But this works absolutely fine for work presentations/ PowerPoints, Photos etc! It’s become an essential accessory for me, especially during travel/ quick weekends away where I don’t want to take my iPad with me – a bit of BBC iPlayer is fine for me. I can see how it would be handy for work, when someone wants to see something/ see photos/ see a file (pdf/ powerpoint) & you didn’t bring your computer to the meeting.
It’s really tiny, so it’s easy to keep in the backpack/ overnight bag.
Four **** stars is my rating overall, just because of the Netflix/ Prime issue. I just wish the advertising made this clearer, so docked stars for that. I hope this has been helpful!

I do have an original Apple one of these and was looking for a spare to take traveling.
This worked great (used with an iPad 2019 and iPhone 13), it interfaced nicely with a Samsung TV and allowed charging at the same time.
I cannot see any difference in the performance and it costs a fraction of the Apple version.

Marvellous device!
I love this! Just got it and already I have used to to connect my ipad 10 to a customers meeting room screen to show them some information via their HDMI rather than dealing with the usual codes and software installation to get it to work.
This will be living in my work bag for customer visits from now on but I am sure that it would also be useful as a home device for connecting iphone or ipad to your TV. I used it connected to a huge screen so a TV should be no problem.

I didn’t know something like this even existed!! I have a work iphone that I have always hated as i use Android for everything. I got this adapter and I can connect my iphone (or ipad) to a full screen HDMI tv and watch films or youtube in full screen with sound. This means that if we stay away for a few days, no laptop needed in the luggage because the phone or ipad can directly connect to your hotel TV to watch whatever you want straight from your phone. Brilliant product!!!
Brilliantly simple little HDMI adapter for iPad and iPhone
This is a brilliant little adapter, just plug the lightning connector into your iPad or iPhone then plug the hdmi cable from your tv into the adapter and instantly your screen will be mirrored on your tv. Great for photos, YouTube, Safari, games etc. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with Apple TV which is why I got it! I have a free trial for Apple TV and was having trouble trying to Chromecast it, so hoped this would be the answer. It clearly says that some paid subscription services such as Netflix having HDCP video copywrite protection won’t work with it and although it doesn’t list Apple TV it also doesn’t work. It’s a shame really, as it’s so very, very simple. Doesn’t take away the fact that this is a great little adapter.
Works with 1st generation iPad ai
We still have a very old iPad Air 1st generation bought way back in 2013 and it is still going strong but slower these days.
We wanted to use this as as a basic media player through the tv without using the Apple Tv device. Just plug one end to the iPad and the other end a HDMI lead that is connected to your Tv and that is all you need to do.
Display is clear and colours are expected.
So is it worth it? This adapter does look very similar to the official Apple one but at a fraction of the price. It does work for what I needed it to so from that point I am happy. In terms of value for money, it does depend how long does it last relative to the number of usages. At the moment it is early days but I will update this review if I find it fails after an unacceptable time.
Great for using a larger monitor for my photos
Easy to use and connect my iPhone to. It’s for phones that use a lightning cable so this won’t work with the newer iPhones that use USB-C. It makes is easier for the whole family to look at the photos I take in the places I travel to when I am on business. Overall, a good addition to my accessories bag for electronic equipment.
Effective HDMI adapte
This is a great little adapter. Really simple to use. Just plug the HDMI cable into it and plug your device into it and it shares the screen onto your tv. I have used this with my ipad and it works really well. Not all apps worked such as the Amazon app as it they have set it up so you can’t screen share. Other apps such as iPlayer worked well. Overall very impressed and would recommend.
works well with iPad Mini
This little device worked well with my iPad mini when connected to an HDMI port on my TV. The picture was a little smaller than I expected, but it was perfectly adequate. No setup is required on the ipad, it’s simply plug and play. The device description states that it’s Apple MFi certified but there is no indication on the device or its packaging to confirm this. This is good value as the equivalent Apple device is significantly more expensive.
Handy device
Handy little device to display my phone screen onto a monitor or the TV. Note that it’s a lightning cable so won’t work with newer USB C Apple devices. The quality is reasonable once on the monitor, good to look at my photos on a bigger screen or to play a film direct from my phone. I probably wouldn’t use it that often but it seems it for purpose. Quality of build doesn’t seem amazing but should be fine if looked after reasonably.
worked well with iPhone pro
worked very well with iPhone, on the Samsung it didn’t work as good…
iPhone fast speed on connections, same connections for Samsung ran a little slower, however did work.
I do recomend this gadget as its worth while having one , you can use it for your -c port and USB port adaptors up to 16gb what I used it for … and it does the job very well.
I’d recomend you get yourself one for your mobile and a little usb device so you can store more on your phone, with ease.
