This hob performs really well. The touch controls are quite responsive, even with slightly wet hands.
The hob has an indicator that flashes on the display if you don’t use an induction ready pan and if ignored, the hob will turn off. I found this a great safety feature.

When you operate the hob, as soon as you place the pan on top, you can hear the induction plate get energised and within a few minutes, the pan starts to heat up.
I tested out a pan of water with 6 cups of water and at full power, this was boiling in a few minutes.

Controlling the different power levels is simply a case of choosing which plate you want to operate, then control the touch-dial pad that’s in the middle with you finger.
You can sync both plates together with the sync button too.

It also has a safety feature where you can prevent the controls from being modified by small young fingers simply by keeping hold of the padlock for 3 seconds.

In the box, you get instructions and feet if you want to place on a worktop versus into the worktop as a cutout. Installing the feet took no more than a few minutes. For the time being, I’ve got this setup on the side of my kitchen away from the main hob. Our intention is to let the boys use this how they want, whilst leaving the main hob for family cooking.

it’s worked in the past, but the old hob was a ceramic type which had seen better days and it’s out with the old and in with the new.

I opted for this domino design rather than the horizontal design as it fits in well with out design in the kitchen, but I do believe you can get the same build but in the horizontal structure too.

Overall I’m satisfied with this as it can be cleaned easily and the boys have given me the thumbs up too.

I’m planning to drop it into the worktop at some point and when I do, I’ll add some images on how it looks flush on the surface.

I needed a temporary countertop electric hob, as my main one only has one functioning stove. I’m very impressed with the build quality and performance. I’m was expecting it to work as well as my main one, but I was pleasantly surprised.

It is easy to operate. The touch buttons are very responsive. It can operate both stove at the same time individually or as one. Together it operates at 3300W. Individually, the top runs at 1800W and bottom at 1500W. It has a timer for both stove. Works great with induction pots and pans. Detects when you place a pan/pot and when you remove it. It will eventually turn off after a period of time if it doesn’t detect anything. Cleaning is very easy because of the glass layer.

The only issue I had was the noise. But as I’m using on the countertop, I was expecting this. If it was built in, the noise would far less intrusive. It isn’t terrible, with the extractor fan on, you hardly notice it.

EDIT 15/04/24 from * to ***** – the customer service has been outstanding. They offered a full refund as well as a free new device to have another try. We’ve not tested the new device yet because we already purchased two new identical ones we had before but will soon power it up and update this review accordingly – fingers crossed this one doesn’t blow up!

This thing was taken out of the box and plugged in to the same power socket we had an electriQ 2 Zone Portable Induction Hob working for over 3 years that quietly stopped working. Once turned on a big bang and flash triggering all fuses. Fortunately, no harm to human life but still this is a dangerous device and questionable QC. I have ordered two of the old electriQ 2 Zone Portable Induction Hob nearly half the price, maybe missing some settings but at least safer to use and trusted.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersAs a portable hob, i thought i would go all out and use this while camping to make my life that little bit easier, but also because fire around tents is really not the best solution to use where it can be avoided, so an induction hob is ideal.

It’s reasonably lightweight for what it is (i wouldn’t recommend it for wild camping as there would be no way of powering it anyway) We had to power this off the mains supply included in our spot on the campsite and it runs great, we have induction pans from home which we bought with us so there was no need to buy special pans and it heats up just as easily as the rangemaster one does at home.

So quick heat, safety features galore and an easy surface to wipe off after every use makes this ideal for us whenever we need it.

Just bought this induction cooker to substitute the old gas cooker I had. Much easier to clean without all those gas buttons gaps. Initially I thought it would be slower than gas. But I was wrong! It’s much faster than gas and much better looking than the older gas cooker.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI can’t find anything negative to say about this unit, even though I’ve only had it for a few weeks. Our cooktop is quite unique, with two gas burners and two electric ones, and both types work exceptionally well. The gas burners respond instantly, while the electric ones are reliable and unaffected by air currents. They simmer food much better too. Usually, I start cooking rice on the gas burner and then let it simmer on the electric one.

However, this induction cooktop surpasses both types in terms of performance. Not only does it heat up and adjust as quickly as gas, but it’s even faster and more precise to control than electric. Similar to modern electric glass tops, there’s no flame, making it incredibly easy to clean. Plus, it cools down faster than both gas and electric cooktops when you turn it off.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersWe’re currently in the 4th week (ugh) of putting in a new kitchen, but have still been able to cook – especially outside – during the renovations. I already had an electric grill and an air fryer, so this hob completed our outdoor/temporary kitchen. We have solar, so powering everything isn’t an issue when the sun is out or using stored energy in our battery. I wanted two hobs, to give us options, as we will also be using this in our caravan whenever we go down as it is much better than our gas hob – as it uses LPG so the pressure is low and everything takes an age to cook. This looks GREAT, first and foremost, and is also easy to clean. You have a 1800w hob on the left and a 1000w hob on the right. Each can be turned up/down by 200w (or 20 degrees), and the controls are responsive and simple to understand. The hobs heat up really quickly, but will not work (and will turn off) if there’s not an induction pot or pan on the hob. It also warns you, when you remove a pan, to remind you to turn it down or off. The hobs cool down really quickly too, while the pans are still red hot, so they conduct really well. An excellent unit, that will be getting more use over the summer!
