Practical and a nice colou
This is a nice looking case for an external CD-ROM drive. It’s a pleasant colour and style with a zipped portion for the drive and a pocket at the front. It offers a bit of padding too but probably not enough to protect your drive from a hard drop.
I’m no expert but the stitching was a bit visible when I put a bit of tension on it (stored a cable in the front pocket). It’s still a nice little pouch for a drive.

I think everyone who’s bought a portable optical drive has, at some point, stored it in a plastic bag, or simply transported it around without any protection, then probably regretted it. This case from Joopshee is a relatively low cost way to protect your drive.
It comes in a plain, unbranded bag. The build quality is good, with a thick and durable outer material and a nice amount of padding inside. The zipped section is strong and feels like it will last, and the interior is lined with a soft material so it won’t scratch your drive. There’s a handy pocket section on one side, so you can store documentation or cables.
It fitted both my portable Blu-ray and CD/DVD rewriter drives, so I’d say it’s fine for most standard portable drives. I guess you could use it for other bits of tech too.
Overall, this is a nicely made basic storage case for the money. It’s quite plain, but offers good protection. If you have a portable CD/Blu-ray drive, then this case is a worthwhile purchase.

Fits a treat. Well padded and keeps it nice and coszy.

Excellent, good quality, secure, padded & soft internally
This offers my CD rewriter drive a good level of protection. The lining is super smooth. It has a good degree of impact protection from carrying it backpacks or storage around the house. It’s not a hard case but the internal area has a bit of padding to protect the contents. The case has a durable outside. The zip runs smoothly. I like the zip design.
The size is good, I can place the cable inside first and still fit the drive on top of it.
It’s really well made, there’s not a stitch out of place.
Simple but smart case
This only just fits my generic plug in CD/DVD drive so please check the measurement of your drive against this. I measure it at 15cm x 17cm and its about 2.5 cm deep. Its lined inside with a fleece type material and has a pocket on the outside.
Works well and does make my drive easier to find and protect it some. Well made, don’t know why they used a black zip pull though as the rest of it is grey. Kind of ruins the look. Nice case though, happy with it at the listed price.
Bit of a tight fit, but works perfect.
Well sown canvas fabric with a good quality zip that opens smoothly. It just about fits a standard sized external disc reader, a bit like a mini laptop bag. Lined with plush fabric and good quality overall. Provides good protection. It probably won’t protect again hard impact such as sitting on it, but is okay for the occasional drop. Means I don’t have to keep getting my disc reader out from it’s box every time I need to use it.

Beautiful little pouch
I bought this to store my external dvd writer for my laptop. It was just knocking around in a drawer, at the risk of getting damaged so to keep it in a nice protective case is really nice. The case is fleece lined and very well made. It is rare these days to find something where the stitching is good quality but this is really nicely made. And just the right size for my dvd writer.
I have three blu-ray writers, and individually they all fit nice & snug inside the JOOPSHEE case
I have one blu-ray writer in a carboard box, and the other two are in polythene bags – not ideal really. It’s okay but they would be well served in a better storage container. The JOOPSHEE case is the solution!
The case arrives in a cellophane bag. The material used for the covering is a medium grey colour and feels like a nice quality. There’s a small external pocket which can hold the USB cable (keeping it separate and safely away from the blu-ray writer’s body). The zipper has a metal pull and works smoothly. The padding is good all round.
The inside of the case/sleeve is very plush with a nice soft-pile lining. There’s also a cloth piping around the opening edge of the case which helps prevent any scratching when inserting and retrieving the blu-ray writer.
As I mentioned, I have three portable blu-ray/DVD writers and they are all almost identical in size. The Samsungs are a tad larger, measuring approximately 14.5cm x 14.5cm x 2cm, and the other DVD writer is just fractionally smaller. The ‘fit’ is quite snug, which is no bad thing, and I feel the level of protection offered by the JOOPSHEE is excellent. Obviously the external pocket can hold a typical USB cable. One of the writers actually has the USB cable built-in to the underside of the case which frees up the external pocket.
Obviously there are other ‘things’ that would fit in a case like this and I discovered that a couple of 2.5″ portable hard drives sat very nicely alongside each other within the case. Personally I may well decide to use the JOOPSHEE more for that purpose than housing my blu-ray writers (I carry hard drives around more than I do blu-ray writers). The two portable 2.5″ drives I tested were the 4Gb variety (so a little thicker than the more common 2Gb ones) and they still slid into the JOOPSHEE very easily and would be very well protected for travelling etc.
I think that the price for the JOOPSHEE case is a little on the expensive side. I realise that there’s quite a lot that goes into the production of something like this but I have seen laptop sleeves selling for around the same price. I think that if the product was pitched more towards the tenner mark it would make more sense. Having said that, if you carry a blu-ray writer around with you quite often then it’s definitely money well spent by preventing knocks and dust ingress.
This Attractive Padded Case is a Perfect Fit for My Portable DVD Recorde
This attractive well made case fits my portable DVD writer perfectly. The inside is lined with soft velour fabric and the outside is a tough grey material; between the two is thick padding to ensure the drive is protected from knocks and bumps.
The front of the case has a pocket that could hold some paperwork or a couple of disks if they were in the thin protective envelops and the top is closed by a zip.
There is not much else to say, it looks great, it fits perfectly and it’s cosy – five stars.
Perfect For External DVD Writers

Funnily enough, I’d only just recently picked up an external CD/DVD rewriter so this carry case came up at the right time.
It’s a nicely made carry case. It fits my CD/CD rewriter exactly, with no room for it to flap around inside.
The outer material is a tough feeling nylon type and the inner is a plush fake fur type material to help prevent your drive getting marked or scratched.
The whole thing is nicely padded to help prevent any damage but it’s not a hard case and your drive may not fully survive a high fall on to solid ground, but it’ll certainly help protect it.
A sturdy zip keeps the case closed and there is a handy front pocket for keeping a spare lead or two in.
It’s a nice looking case that’s well made and does it’s intended job perfectly well.
One of those items you didn’t need until you saw and then knew you needed it!
Perfec
At last I can take my external DVD drive out of the box it came in. This case is a perfect size and has a side pocket for the USB lead I keep with my drive. The case offers good protection and has a nice soft lining. I can’t fault this and am very glad to have found it.

Keeps your CD writer clea
Computers no longer seem to have CD/DVD drives but occasionally they are needed, so I recently ordered an external drive for this purpose. When I ordered this case I was little concerned it wouldn’t be deep enough, because the measurements looked tight, bit in the event it was fine.
The material is fairly durable and it comes with a zip, plus an external pocket. Now I can sore it without worrying about dust etc or having cables mangled somehow.
Great padding, very secure for external drive
This external DVD drive case offers great protection due to the adequacy of the padding. The inside padding feels very soft and will prevent scratches and scuffing to your drive.
In addition the outer pocket is handy for loose DVDs and adaptors.
This is a great case, 5 stars as it’s perfect for its intended use.
Perfect, fleece-lined anti-scratch case
I can’t beleive how long I have been looking for this – now that laptops come without DVD drives I have been carrying my external drive about in a falling-apart cardbaord box.

Very well padded
This feels like an excellent case. It’s very well padded, and fits my external DVD drive perfectly, with a little bit of space left at the top for a cable if needed. Feels a lot safer than carrying the drive in the box it originally came in – would recommend.
Perfect fit on the drives I've tried...
Tried a couple of slim/portable DVD drives in there, and they fit a treat.
Nice soft interior and well padded, and no worries of catching the drive on the zip when you drop it in there.
An extra side pocket allows for cables etc if you need too.
I do like the fact that the drive(s) fit well, without any sliding about. It just makes the whole thing practically as compact with the case as without.
Decent stuff, and on a quality/value-for-money basis… 4- Stars.
Quick and portable
Able to quickly connect to any device without drivers. Blu-ray, data and DVD as well as extra USB3 ports. A handy player that can tuck away in a pocket, I don’t have a bad thing to say about it.
Great blu-ray drive
Excellent device. Small and compact. Easy to use. It allows you to write or view all formats discs. It also has 2 usb ports for convenience. I have watched my blu-ray films on my computer and it worked amazingly. It is quiet and fast. Great quality. Highly recommend this product.
To bring my daughters notebook into this decade
She only has a small notebook with no CD drive or anything. Now she can not only watch DVD & BLU RAY but can also write to them to. A huge leap for her.
Very happy with this external Blu-ray drive. Very easy to plug and play on my laptop. It’s simple to use, works quickly, and is easy to store. I think it burns discs better than the drive that came with my laptop.
Purchased this drive to replace my last external drive as I have a lot of CD’s and DVD’s with backup info. This drive connected immediately to my Win 10 PC and laptop with no additional drivers required. I checked my CD’s and DVD’s could be read. I like the feature that there are 4 additional USB slots which worked perfectly fine as flashdrive readers all from a single USB connection at the back of my machine. I have not used the SD card slots at the moment. Really happy with the purchase.

Helps a lot and is very useful as it provides a lot of help and makes it easier to use more usbs. Very easy to use aswell and not heavy.
