    Stunning build.
Purchased because my late father always liked kingfishes and building this evoked many happy memories. The quality is as you expect from Lego and on display this does not disappoint. A truly wonderful build.

    Beautiful LEGO set for adults
This LEGO set caught my eye in that it is more complex than the ones I played with as a kid and produced a design that is beautiful to look at. Assembly is straightforward although the water blocks are a tad fiddly to assemble.

The whole kit is great quality as you’d expect from a LEGO product and was a fun evening for the family to assemble, all in all it took a few hours to assemble (too many cooks can spoil the brew after all) but is solid once assembled. The only drawback is the placement of the eyes which doesn’t seem quite right when compared to a real kingfisher, but it still looks great and you can’t always get things exactly right with a set like this. Happy to recommend this to anyone.

Beautiful Kingfisher Model Kit for Relaxing Building Experience.
I absolutely love this LEGO Icons Kingfisher Bird set! As an adult LEGO enthusiast, I find building this majestic bird to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The level of detail in the design is incredible, from the realistic depiction of the kingfisher with its fish catch to the intricately crafted water setting display stand.

One of the things I appreciate most about this set is the posable head and claws of the kingfisher, allowing for some creativity in how I display it. The inclusion of buildable reeds in the water setting adds to the overall aesthetic and makes the scene come to life.

Not only does this set provide a satisfying building experience, but the finished model also serves as a beautiful piece of home or office dcor. It adds a touch of nature to any space and never fails to catch the eye of visitors.

The digital building instructions provided through the LEGO Builder app are easy to follow and enhance the overall building experience. It’s convenient to have access to the instructions on my device, especially when I’m building in a more relaxed setting.

Overall, I highly recommend the LEGO Icons Kingfisher Bird set to fellow LEGO enthusiasts and bird lovers alike. It’s a wonderful gift option for any occasion and a delightful addition to any LEGO collection.

    A Captivating Build for Adults
The LEGO Icons Kingfisher Bird Set, model number 10331, is a stunning testament to LEGO’s commitment to intricate design and adult-focused building experiences. As an enthusiast of both LEGO and nature-inspired creations, I was eager to dive into this set, and it did not disappoint.

From the moment I opened the box, I was struck by the attention to detail and elegance of the design. The Kingfisher Bird model is beautifully crafted, capturing the essence of this iconic bird with remarkable accuracy. The vibrant colors and lifelike features make it a captivating centerpiece for any home or office desk.

What sets this LEGO set apart is the inclusion of a water setting display stand, elevating the Kingfisher Bird to new heights of realism. The stand not only enhances the overall presentation but also provides a dynamic element, as if the bird is poised for flight over a serene body of water.

Building the Kingfisher Bird was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, with each step carefully laid out in the instruction manual. The advanced building techniques and intricate details challenged my skills as a LEGO enthusiast, while also providing a sense of accomplishment as the model took shape.

The set is marketed towards adults, and it truly delivers on its promise of providing a rewarding building experience for enthusiasts of all ages. Whether you’re a seasoned LEGO builder or a newcomer to the hobby, the Kingfisher Bird set offers a satisfying challenge that will captivate and inspire.

In addition to being a joy to build, the Kingfisher Bird model serves as an excellent conversation piece and decorative accent. Its graceful presence adds a touch of natural beauty to any environment, making it an ideal gift for nature lovers, LEGO enthusiasts, and anyone in search of unique and meaningful dcor.

    Lego for adults (and kids!)
I’m amazed how Lego has changed since I was little, it seems you can almost make anything now.

I’ve helped my kids with some lego sets, particularly the artic explorer sets, and some star wars sets they got for presents, so I understood the build process, its still a little daunting when you see all the bricks though.

The instructions are great, with some info on the kingfisher, you follow each page and use each numbered bag in order to build up from the base.

I would say it took me and my daughter about 4 hours split over two sessions, but the end result is stunning, the colours and pose are perfect and it makes a brilliant display piece.

Perfect gift for almost anyone, it does take a bit of time and effort but its totally worth it.

    Fantastic LEGO Set to build
This has been one of my favourite LEGO sets to build to day, part of the new LEGO Icons range, this is a model set that will build a Kingfisher in amazing detail, posed as if it has just plucked a fish from water and once completed it really does stand out as a display piece. This is a set aimed at the more experienced LEGO Builder, and I found it to be a relaxing and fun experienced to build.

As you can see from the attached photos, each section brings this model to life and as it one of LEGO’s stand out qualities, the pictorial instructions are clearly defined into sections for each of the six bags so you are always confident in the stages of the build. The included instruction booklet is large and easy to read and follow and as usual, you can also download a PDF version of the instructions so they can viewed on a tablet or smart phone, enabling additional features such as zooming in to help in more complex sections. The pieces are all very well machined and go together smoothly. I love how this turned out, very different from conventional LEGO Sets but it only helps it to stand out more and creates a life size Kingfisher to admire and enjoy once completed. Very easy to recommend.

    Fabulous Kingfishe
This is a really fun Lego display piece. It’s bright and bold at a really nice price.

The build is fun and complex considering the price point and the finished product looks really effective.

    Beautiful Lego ki
This is a really gorgeous Lego kit, which is perfect for displaying. It features a kingfisher with a realistic splash effect and some portable parts.

As it is in the icons range, it’s aimed at an adult builder. My son is 16 and built it with relative ease, but it is definitely more challenging than the kits aimed at children.

It is high quality, as you would expect from Lego, and features clear and easy to follow instructions.

Great kit for any nature lover.

    Great quailty
This LEGO Icons Kingfisher bird set, would make a great addition to any lego collection. Its aimed at young/older adults rather than children, which I assumed it would make it more difficult to construct, but it wasn’t. Lots of pieces, so you can get well and truly stuck into building this.
The built kingfisher is quite magnificent. Sits nicely on the shelf.
I thinks it’s a bit pricey at 45, but lego is expensive in general.

A lovely set, one of the best I've see
I’m not much of a fan of the ‘art’ lego sets, but this one is the exception. It comes in a lovely box and the presentation and instructions are equally impressive.

This is an excellent representation of a common kingfisher complete with splashing water and fish in its beak.

This is a surprisingly big model, with 834 pieces, quite a lot of them custom to these bird sets (and this set in particular). The model you end up with is bigger than an actual eurasian/common kingfisher.

This isn’t really a set for young kids, it’s quite complex and has a lot of pieces. There also isn’t much room for imagination, although the head and feet are poseable. If you are taking your time and relaxing then build time is 3-5 hours depending on previous experience.

So, onto the topic of price. This is 45, which is of course outrageous for some bits of plastic. However, this is one of the few modern sets which (almost) justifies its price. That’s because you are left with an object which can genuinely be displayed almost anywhere, in any type of decor.

Personally I think this should be 35, that is what I would pay for this as a present for someone.

I have to admit this is a great lego set, and give it five stars despite the price.

Bold, bright colours and great desig
This is a Lego ‘Icons’ Kingfisher set. As part of the Icons range it’s aimed at an older audience, and is ideally suited to going on display somewhere. It looks fantastic, and the bold blue colours of the Kingfisher are really striking.

It took longer to build than I thought – probably two hours in total (including a couple of tea breaks), but it was really fun to build. It’s very solid, and also has a poseable head and talons, so you can set it up how you like it.

If you’re looking for a decorative Lego set as a gift or just for yourself this is highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExcellent Fun Kit to build
Relatively easy to manage the build. Great innovation the way they have created the splash effect at the base, implying the Kingfisher has just broken the water.

There is not too much repetition anywhere, so a sense of progress as the model is built.

Difficult to accurately predict a build time, as I was recovering from a major operation and had to take breaks.

If you use the lego build App it allows you interactive images to assist with construction.

    Highly recommended

LEGO Icons Kingfisher Bird Set, Model Building Kit for Adults to Build with Water Setting Display Stand – Review

This LEGO set is of awesome quality. When I was younger I don’t remember logos being this high quality and complex. The intrusions are easy to follow and well-written. The finished model is impressive and great for table/desk dcor. At 44.99, at the time of reviewing, It is pricey in my opinion but this is the price you have to pay for Lego sets of this size. It’s a great few evenings of fun, would recommend it as a gift for all ages.

    Nice ki
Bought this for DD who loves lego and has moved on to the big adult kits after starting as a child.
All the pieces where included with a few extra.
The instructions where not as clear as they might of been, as an experienced lego kit assembler this wasn’t too much of a problem but they could be improved.
This is clearly aimed at adults, quite a high price point but another good addition to the lego adult range

    Easily identifiable as a Kingfisher.
The ‘LEGO Icons Kingfisher Bird Set, Model Building Kit for Adults to Build’ arrived in a branded box that contained 6 packets of parts, and an instruction manual.

This is a lovely kit with the parts separated to allow for six stages to the construction. The instruction manual is very detailed showing just small steps in the assembly using isometric projection for the pictures, though I would say that for the ‘clear’ parts used for the water and especially those with odd shapes plan and side views maybe beneficial.

This is only the second LEGO kit I have built in years, and yes they can be addictive, you just have to finish; I started at 8pm and had finished a little after midnight.

Having larger hands I did find some of the smaller parts a bit more difficult to hold, and some parts didn’t get that ‘click’ when pushed together, even though they were secure. The water was most difficult due to so many small parts and stacking, it was not always easy to see where pieces were to be placed.

Having seen and photographed Kingfisher’s diving for food, I have to say this is quite a good representation. I can only wait for the day when they create a kit at the same scale for a White Tailed Eagle, though I suspect that would be way too big.
