One battery was corroded, and the unit didn’t work. I replaced the batteries and now it functions. A tad annoying. My oxygen levels were good a week ago, using the hospital oxymeter on my finger. This one though shows very low levels and beeps. When I use it on my thumb – oxygen levels normal. Not confident this actually works.
This O2 meter is lighter than the pro unit my Dr uses but produces exactly the same result. It is cheap, arrived quickly and comes with everything you need.
The small box arrived quickly and contained the unit, clear & comprehensive instructions, a lanyard, batteries & a very robust padded pouch that can even be attacked to a belt. It’s simple & fast to use. It doesn’t have the padding inside pro units have but the spring isn’t so powerful that it hurts. I normally check my O2 whilst sat down & just rest my hand on my leg, chair arm or table. I have no idea about its longevity but it’s so cheap I’d just buy another one.
For home use I simply can’t criticise it.
got this after my little one was in hospital with low oxygen and so far its savedme a few trips to the hospital so deffo worth getting for your peice of mind
I bought this following a hospital stay with my 2 year old where he was monitored due to his blood saturation not getting over 86 or stabilising after oxygen. Made me think “hey you know it’d be useful to have so I know just how poorly he is and to give the medics a better idea” because over the phone 111 can’t make the judgement.
Easy to use – crocodile clip, open, finger in, keep still and there’s the result. And my 2 year olds little fingers work with this
Easy to read – absolutely, gives a nice graphic of heart rate and a nice big number for sats and heart rate – and the stupid number of memories this has means I can look back over many days with both my boys.
As to the accuracy I’d say it’s fine but that’s based on using it with peoeple who are healthy and we’re just mucking about with it (children will play with anything). I meant to take it to hospital with my other son and test mine against theirs but forgot. I would never say this is something to stake your life on, just really helpful to give medics a guide I’m currently trusting it to guide medics with my young children going through covid and they seem to appreciate the on hand information
All in all I’m extremely satisfied with this. It did pop up as an NHS standard type, whether that’s true or not I’ll never know
If you want something that’s easy to read and quick to give you what you want to know I doubt you’d be disappointed
