Very solid wire broom
Arrived boxed and the handle is in 4 parts, one of which needs screwing onto the brush itself. The rest of the handle screw easily into each other.
The brush itself is very solid and the wire bristles make light work of removing moss & mud from the driveway
Appears to be very robust so hopeful it will last a few years!!
This product was sent to me to review, as part of Amazon Vine. Below is my own real-world experience of using it.
Firstly, it is not telescopic – the handle comes in several parts that need screwing together – this also isn’t immediately obvious, due to the design of the metal poles (the screw threads aren’t distinctive enough to recognise). I actually struggled with the assembly, because no instructions were included, so didn’t realise that the pieces were put together in that way.
Regardless, the brush is quite sturdy once assembled – the wire bristles are stiff and can take a lot of force being used on them, which is handy for those jobs that need a little extra.
Overall, a good value item.
Good swept moss off well
Swept the moss off of my
Block drive very well. The only downside is the handle not very sturdy I will replace it with a wooden one when this one gives in.
Firstly this is NOT telescopic.
The handle comes in several parts and requires screwing together. You can of course remove them again for storage should you need to, but telescopic it isnt.
The head also needs screwing on with the use of 2 wingnuts when it arrives. Make sure to give them a good crank as they are not a lock-nut of any sort and can unwind themselves during heavy usage.
I was able to use this to clean down a patio that greened up pretty badly over winter and it got rid of the more stubborn stuff that the plastic brush couldn’t.
With the brush being quite a bit stiffer than usual plastic types it also worked great on the concrete path that we have that’s got a very stony texture and lots of gunk builds up inbetween them. With this I was able to make a much better job of it than I usually can due to the extra stiffness of the bristles.
Useful produc
Brush comes boxed, easy to assemble the handle parts simply slot and screw into place and the brush is secured by two wing nuts. About the size of normal broom, planned to use this on moss that grows on concrete area outside. While it is effective removing moss a significant amount of force was required to manage this. My wife tried and simply wasn’t able to exert enough force for it to be effective, something to bear in mind prior to purchasing. Moreover whilst the handle is metal construction I felt limited to the pressure I could exert on the broom for fear of the handle buckling. Simple pass of the broom with little pressure exerted achieved nothing. Would possibly be useful in conjunction with a pressure washer to achieve the results seen in the advert. For the price it’s a reasonable product but it it does have limitations on what it can accomplish.
NOT 'telescopic', otherwise good
First up to correct the listing: this broom handle is not telescopic but comes in four parts that need screwing together. So you can have a shorter handle by omitting one or more of the poles, and you can dismantle it to enable easy storage, but it doesnt extend and retract telescopically. I’ve docked a star because I was expecting a telescopic handle.
Apart from that, this is a great yard broom / scrubbing broom. It’s thoughtfully provided with an extra butterfly screw in case you lose one, and is easy to assemble. The wire in the brushhead is slightly crimped, and doesn’t feel dangerously sharp or likely to cause any injury in normal use. It’s effective for scrubbing down concrete, and I found on my concrete path it also took out the small weeds (moss etc) that have taken root since it was last cleaned.
An additional bonus to me is the bristles. I’m trying to minimise my use of plastic, particularly things like brushes where the bristles wear and contribute to the issue of microplastics, so having metal bristles helps towards that goal.
At 21.89 this is not a cheap yard broom, but with care it should last well, and will certainly aid with cleaning the paths and patio. Recommended!
Segmented wire broom for short and tall people...
Decent long handle, which feels sturdy, although the bristles are metal, they do have a bit of flex. Hubby took it out for a trial on the block paved driveway, which has its fair share of winter gunk, gave it a rub, and yes, the between-block gunk was outed. We use an anti-algae spray twice a year so there was nothing to clear on the blocks surface. He said that he found the broom needed clockwise turning as it was coming lose. The segmented handled allows short people to use it at a length that is more comfortable, it also reduces postage costs being able to be packaged in a smaller box. Obviously it is more expensive because of the multiple pieces, you can buy the same but for less if you get one with a wooden pole. We’ll see how long it lasts and update this review if the bristles start falling out…
