Easy set up, clear camera and great smart detection features
Having recently purchased the Netvue Peekababy Camera and Monitor, I am beyond impressed with its smart motion detection capabilities. From the moment I set it up, I was blown away by its accuracy, responsiveness and clarity.

One of the standout features is its intelligent detection algorithm, which minimizes false alarms, ensuring I only receive notifications for relevant movements, including crying, temperature and humidity.

Furthermore, the Netvue app provides seamless integration with my smartphone, allowing me to remotely monitor my baby from anywhere with an internet connection. The live-streaming feature is crystal clear, providing high-definition footage in real-time.

Overall, I can’t recommend the Netvue Peekababy Camera and Monitor enough. Its exceptional smart motion detection technology, coupled with its ease of use and reliability, truly sets it apart. If you’re in the market for a top-of-the-line home baby camera, look no further than the Netvue Peekababy.

Talk back feature distinguished by its clear and lifelike quality.
Upon unboxing, I was pleased to find that the Netvue Peekababy camera exuded robustness and displayed a commendable level of quality. Although the setup instructions were included, I found the process intuitive and straightforward, skipping the need to consult the provided guidelines. Turning on the monitor and connecting it to the camera proved to be self-explanatory and remarkably easy.

For those opting to use the camera with their phone in addition to the provided monitor, the setup follows a familiar pattern. Install the Netvue App, select your purchased product, and scan the QR code beneath the camera. “Show” the subsequent QR code back to the camera to initiate pairing with the Wi-Fi network, followed by entering your password. Despite previous Wi-Fi connectivity challenges due to the dual-band setup, this time, the pairing process was swift and trouble-free.

The video and audio quality met my expectations, delivering clarity with minimal delay, both in well-lit and dark conditions (thanks to the infrared feature). The microphone captured sound crisply, and a talkback function was available for comforting or communicating with the baby.

Exploring its capabilities, the monitor provided a setup feature for convenient alerts on feeding, temperature, and humidity. Additionally, it offered the option of playing preinstalled lullabies, adding to its practicality. The standout feature was the voice control/talk back, distinguished by its clear and lifelike quality, steering clear of the robotic tones often found in rival products.

Thrilled with my purchase, the Netvue Peekababy Baby Monitor proved to be a game-changer for us as parents. The 5” LCD screen allowed us to monitor our baby seamlessly whether in the next room, or through various devices such as phones, tablets, or even Alexa. Its pocket-sized design was a brilliant touch, and the long-distance connection with automatic reminders provided an additional layer of peace of mind.

The mounting options proved to be exactly what we needed, with effortless installation near the crib, although it can be wall mounted or simply left on a table. Safety considerations were addressed with compliance to baby safety standards and secure cable management. The Netvue Peekababy’s ability to keep us informed with instant notifications for motion or crying, 2-way talk, feeding reminders, and temperature and humidity monitoring made it feel like having a helpful companion.

The most impressive aspect for me was the outstanding video quality, enabling me to capture every detail in 1080P HD, even in low light using the infrared mode. The voice-activated mode and continuous audio monitoring were crucial, guaranteeing that I stayed tuned in, even when the screen was off. To top it all off, the inclusion of preinstalled lullabies for soothing melodies adds an extra layer of delight to the monitor’s features. Sharing these precious moments with family members through the NETVUE app was the perfect finishing touch.

To sum up, the Peekababy Baby Monitor has significantly simplified the monitoring our baby and is a valuable asset to stress-free parenting for me. However, it’s important to note that the monitor’s battery performance falls short, and the included charging lead is frustratingly short, especially when the battery is low and you’re trying to use it. Despite these small drawbacks, it has become an essential tool in our parenting journey.

    Perfec
Update: after I contacted the seller, they sent me a new device and this one is working perfectly.

First device: Other than that LCD screen never is charged (that a big problem) everything else is quite good. But the LCD screen needs always be plugged or shows low battery and instantly will be shut dow

Overall a good piece of ki
The camera is decent, we use it every day and rely on it. The night vision works well in low light. The adjustable stand it comes with is sturdy and fits on the side of the cot. We watch the feed from the camera using the app on our phones and the monitor which came with the camera.

The monitor is lightweight and easy to use but the functionality could be improved. It gives too many notifications such as for minor baby movements, it says ‘the device not being connected’ even though it is and it keeps say humidity is too high. If you have the sound on there’s a constant hiss even though it’s silent in the room where the camera is.

The software makes it look like you can connect more than one camera to the monitor or get different views, we haven’t managed to, but it looks like these will come along via an update. I swear I could see 4 cameras were an option when we first received it, but now it only says 2.

The picture quality is okay but a bit lower than we expected. We also find it turns off on its own for no reason sometimes, even if the screen timer is set to never/infinity. It turns on automatically when we charge it and it’s rebooted a few times for no reason so the dates and time change to the factory settings.

We love that you can play music for your LO from the camera. Last thing, we keep on forgetting it’s not a touch screen lol. Took us a while to stop tapping the screen.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersReliable and versatile baby monitor with high quality video
Absolutely thrilled with this purchase so had to share my review about the Peekababy Smart Baby Monitor! As a parent, this gadget has been an absolute game-changer for us and our little one.

First off, the display is excellent. Whether I’m in the next room or out and about, being able to keep an eye on my baby through the 5” LCD screen, my phone, tablet, or even Alexa is a game-changer. The fact that it fits right into my pocket is just brilliant. Plus, the long-distance connection and automatic reminders for reconnection/disconnection are like having an extra set of eyes with me all the time — total peace of mind.

The mounting options are great and just what we needed. Mounting it is a breeze, and it fits right near our crib. Safety is a top priority for me, and knowing that it complies with baby safety standards and has secure cable management is a huge relief.

What I love most, though, is how the Peekababy keeps me in the loop. Instant notifications for motion or crying, 2-way talk, feeding reminders, temperature and humidity monitoring — it’s like having a little helper right there. And the video quality! I can see every detail in 1080P FHD, even in the dark. The infrared mode is a game-changer for those late-night check-ins.

The voice-activated mode and continuous audio monitoring are saviors. Even with the screen off, I don’t miss a thing. And the fact that I can share these precious moments with up to 20 family members through the NETVUE app is the icing on the cake. The grandparents love it!

In a nutshell, the Peekababy Smart Baby Monitor has made parenting so much simpler and stress-free for me. Now we have it, I can’t imagine doing without.

Probably the best wifi camera I’ve found
The camera was more robust than I’ve come to expect from most indoor cameras – some manufacturers take “indoors” to mean thst they don’t have to build it well, but this Netvue camera is well built.

The box contained not only the camera, power lead and easy to follow instructions, but also a wall mounting bracket, wall plugs and screws. Nice extra as a lot of cameras don’t have all these things supplied, the Netvue represents great value for money in this respect.

Setting up the camera was easy too. Once you’ve entered your network wifi details then the phone app generates a simple QR code on the screen of your phone, which you then show to the camera lens and the pairing is complete. No mucking about with slow blinking network lights or fast blinking network lights; this just works and works well.

As a camera, this works well too. Important factor really for a camera is the picture quality, and it’s good. The daylight image is clear, with good colour matching and clarity. The night vision is clear also, but obviously in monotone not colour.

It should be noted that if you’re pointing this camera through a glass window, the nighttime infrared floodlight LEDs will shine onto the glass window, create a glare on the glass and then the camera won’t be able to see through the glare, or the glass – that’s quite standard on most camera.

The app works well too, with good simple control over the cameras movements and settings.

Overall one of my best camera purchases.

Clear video and audio, another quality Netvue produc
I’ve used Netvue cameras in the past before, mainly as a baby monitor, and this recent new one did not disappoint. The setup is in a similar style to before – you have to install the Netvue App, choose the product you purchased, and scan the QR code underneath the camera and “show” the subsequent QR code back to the camera to get it to pair with the wifi network. Previously I had issues with connecting to my wifi as both my 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz wifi broadcast through the same name, but this time it seemed to pair quickly and without fuss, although I had to “tell” the camera that it wasn’t a 5Ghz wifi network.

The video and audio quality is as I’ve come to expect, that is clear and with minimal delay, both lighted and in darkness (infrared) the video quality is very good. The mic also picks up sound pretty well if you’re using it to monitor kids or pets, and there’s also a talkback function if you want to tell your kids to go back to bed! Good product, would recommend. Time will tell whether this one lasts for years, but I’ve not had any problems with my previous Netvue camera which I’ve already used for 3 years, so hopefully this one will be the same.

Works great but could be a little bette
Trying this out to see what it is actually like and if Netvue products have got better over the last two years.
Bitter dissappointment was my initial thought when the zoom function turned out to be a digital zoom in the app and not a function of the camera.
I decided not to pay for the ongoing (after 1 month free) service, having fallen into that trap a few years ago when I initially tried other Netvue cameras all of which needed replacing by the company as they all were faulty. I do not trust a company whose products failed in the past to keep my debit card details safely (but they may do, I just have trust issues). This orb pro has worked consistantly now for 125 minutes, so better than previous products. To be a good product it needs to last one year of continued use, but I will not hold my breath.
Setup: was quite easy with the exception of having to hold the camera upside down whilst taking an image of the QR code on the base. What a PITA that was!
The wifi connected in a place where other older Netvue cameras have failed to find it, so that was a major plus point.
If securing it on a celing older users will find the unit quite ergonomic and easy on the hand. (Look in the app for the reverse image 180 degrees setting under the general setting). Yet another plus point!
The pan and tilt work well in the app. You can either tap on the direction arrow or hold them to get the camera to move. Yet two more plus points!
The zoom as I have said is not a physical zoom so if viewing on a device where you cannot use your fingers to zoom in then this part is an incredibly big FAIL. No plus points here, because it does not do what it states it should.
I cannot state what the delay from camera to phone is because my internet is substandard (fibre broadband due in a few months when the infrastructure is complete), however it does appear a second to two seconds slower than my Ring doorbell.
I have not tried the night vision, but suspect this has not changed from previous models, so it should be sufficient.

Overall this camera is very acceptable for what it does. The picture is clear, the pan and tilt work satisfactory. It can be mounted on the ceiling (make sure you can power it wherever you decide to place it) or mounted on other surfaces. The motion detection works, night vision available and software that does not require a subscription. However, it is much the same as any other pan/tilt camera that uses no physical zoom equipment.

    Fantastic camera
This is my second camera, I have the original Vigil camera, so I can do a direct comparison. Like all Netvue cameras it is quick and easy to install. Easy to connect to Wifi network by showing a QR code on your phone.
The camera itself is very impressive for the price – pictures look crisp and clear. Most impressive is the night vision functionality. The new Vigil 3 has a built in floodlight provides a clear colour image in the dark. The standard Infra red black and white image is also excellent, if you don’t want to keep the floodlight on all night.
The Netvue app is excellent, you can use the app to view current footage and motion sensor events, which I have set to notify me immediately.
The built in speaker is ok, it’s tricky to hold a conversation remotely, but it’s great to draw attention to the camera. The idea is that I get motion alerts when deliveries arrive and can then speak to people at my door from the camera.
It’s incredible how it can capture stills of birds in flight too.
Overall, very good value for money and a definite improvement on the older model.
