To any adult (including myself) this seems like a bit of plastic tat that doesn’t do much at all, gave it to a 4 year old girl and she thinks Polly Pockets are brilliant toys.
This set is what i would call a larger size set loosely based on a retro drive thru cinema design, you get two Polly dolls and the usual small assortment of tiny accessories as well as a car for the added drive thru experience. This isn’t like a usual polly pocket set where everything is stowed into a handy “home” case for portability and storage.
My child spent quite a long time playing around with this along with other Polly Pocket sets she has and her own imagination. It is colourful and the details and design are nice on this set although quite expensive at 38.97 (at the time of review), this seems a little high for such a small item but this set in particular has some good features that my child really enjoyed. I like they styling on this one but would have said around the 25 mark.
Brightly coloured Polly Pocket drive in movie play set. Comes with lots of little plastic accessories as you would expect from Polly. It was easy enough to put together, with reasonable build quality. It is a genuine set so what you get is what you expect. It’s a bit pricey, very plastic but loved by children and very much on brand for Polly Pocket.
This arrives in a brightly coloured branded box measuring approx 33.5cm x 22.5cm x just over 8cm.
It would be easy to wrap & make an excellent gift for a Polly Pocket fan.
There is very little assembly required with this set so it’s very quick to set up & it comes with 2 dolls & a car, plus a number of pop & swap accessories that can be used in this set, or any of the other ones.
If you already have some Polly Pocket sets, you can interchange most of the bits like furniture between the sets.
This has a lift on one end for your movie goers to rid up to the rooftop cinema (flip the screen round for an alternative screen image, then they exit via the slide.
Going down it, the car goes over a ‘speed bump’ at the bottom which makes the ice-cream pop up as the car goes past.
There is a little restaurant on the ground floor with seating for 2 & snacks, plus a 1st floor gift shop & a toilet with a door, so all the things Polly & friends could need for a double feature at the drive in are here.
Made of sturdy plastic, with many additional embossed features, this fits in with other Pollyville playsets really well.
