I didn’t buy this until it was a far more reasonable 25 as understood it was just a port of the PS3 game, but it is more than that and on PS5 is has 60fps that looks really good and like a PS4 game!

It also includes the DLC and is everything the PS3 game was with some improvements.

Having played the original back in the day before the RDR2 hype I wanted to play again too see if it was as good as I remembered and it is! The remake is beautiful and plays great at 60fps. Don’t expect next gen graphics as it’s still based on an old version but the voice acting is exceptional. If you’ve only played the sequel then give this a try. You won’t be disappointed!

I wish it was the remake we were hoping for, but still, I can’t count the hours I spent on the Xbox 360 playing this all those years ago and it does at least have full HD 1080p graphics, which hold up surprisingly well on my PS4. Great value too. Wonderful game, if you’ve not played it, please do give it a go, the story is utterly fantastic as is the open world created by RockStar back in 2013.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a great game. It laid the foundation for one of the greatest games of all time, RD2.
However, the mission that requires breaking in three horses towards the end of the game is such a disappointment on two levels. It’s unreasonably difficult, relative to its importance. It also kills the pace of the plot. Having won an epic battle in the mountains John returns home to round up cows, kill a few animals and break horses. It’s kind of boring and anti-climatic, when and where we encounter it. A better option would have been to place these missions at the start, so we can learn these basics. It would only require a minor plot change. It would also have ensured the game’s plot continued at pace right up to the end.
