Strong smell but not unpleasant and easy to use natural remedy
These have a strong smell but its not hugely unpleasant. The best part of these for me is that because they have natural ingredients, I need not worry about my other pets in the house too much. I am using them more as a preventative as I don’t know if our little mouse problem we had was already gone or not, but it gives me peace of mind to use these.
Easy to use
I put these in my wood shed and workshop.
At first they smelt very strong of peppermint, but after a few weeks I can’t smell them, but I’ve not
had any vermin about,so they must be working.
The bags are about 4 inches square and are made from a cotton material, I placed them on shelves and
just left them to do their job.
Seem fine…
I’m all for letting creatures live, as long as they don’t become a nuisance. These really are strong peppermint do rats dislike peppermint? With what they happily run round in day to day, i wouldn’t think anything would bother them. Anyway, i have to assume the science is there.
I only occasionally get rats outside under the decking in my back garden. As such, i can’t really tell if these work or not. I haven’t needed to use any inside the house, but i imagine the peppermint smell that strong in a house would not be desirable.
I stopped laying poison for the rats ages ago as there is a never ending steam of them to eat the bait, and it wasn’t solving an issue. I fixed wire mesh on access points to the under decking, and whilst hard to block everything, this seemed to have an effect and might be my first choice.
As my problem is occasional, i don’t know if these kept the rats away, or there just haven’t been any in that time but as an alternative to killing something, i’m glad i tried them.
Having been disturbed at night by the regular rodent carnival in the roof I decided to give these a try. Quite a strong smell of minty Germolene. Not really unpleasant and the odour didn’t invade the house.
The night following the installation of these there were minor scampering as if the rodents were packing their kit.
Since then, silence.
I must just remember to install new deterrent in the late autumn.
These seem to keep the unwanted beasts away
We were getting rats in our bird table. Now, these sachets are designed for indoor use, and not really for outdoors, but our bird table has a completely watertight roof with loft rafters. I placed one of the sachets in the roof area. Sadly, the day after there was a storm and it blew out of the bird table, but was soon replaced. I can say that I haven’t seen a rat on the bird table since. The smell of these sachets is quite light compared to some of the peppermint products I have tried, but still effective enough that they seem to have done the job of keeping the bird table just for the birds.
We’ve had issues with mice visiting our garage, causing 800+ damage to our car, eating pipes and cables. While peppermint oil diffusers have helped, they’ve not lasted long enough to deter nice completely. These sachets are SO strong, I’m very hopeful that they’ll last and be strong enough to stop the mice.
