Second one purchased had no cable included
I liked the first one of these that I got for at work so much I got a second for home, however the second doesn’t have the included cable, which is just annoying. I’d contact the seller directly but for some reason I don’t seem to have that option.
The keyboard itself is fun, plug in and play, and satisfyingly clicky. It makes typing long notes much more enjoyable.
Barebones is the new Old Reliable.
It plugs in, it lights up, it makes the clicking sound, it’s easy to clean. It isn’t the highest tech nor is it the most amazing thing ever, but it works and it’s simple.
Pros: Best feature is that you can cycle the light up feature so that it only lights up the key that you are pressing, and it’s the second one in line. Incredibly easy to clean and no crazy expensive parts to replace.
Cons: It plugs in, if that’s a con to you, it does do that, and doesn’t work if it doesn’t.
Nice to use and good looking
eally nice keyboard to use. It’s got a nice sound and Retro look.
one downside is you can’t change the colours of the LED lights only how they display, fortunately you can turn down the brightness. I would have given more stars if you could change the colours of the Back lighting.
But overall its a nice keyboard.
Looks excellent! (With the lights off)
Being an avid keyboard collector, I was eagerly waiting to get my hands on this one. The retro style of the keyboard with its vintage themeing was very appealing to me, and needless to say, it looked even better in person. The keyboard comes with a bezel that can be removed to give it a more modern look, but I choose to keep it intact, as it adds to the overall appeal of the keyboard.
However, I was left feeling a bit let down by the lack of individual colored RGB lights. The rainbow lighting, while nice, doesn’t quite match the high standards set by the rest of the keyboard. If individual colored RGB lights were added, it would be an absolute game-changer for me, and I wouldn’t need to look any further. Despite this drawback, the keyboard is still very close to perfect and is an excellent addition to my collection.
Stylish gaming keyboard
I have been using it for the past few weeks. The blue switches provide satisfying tactile feedback with each key press, making it perfect for gaming. The keys are also very responsive and require minimal force to register, which has significantly improved my gaming performance. Plus, the 7 different backlight colors add a cool visual element to my setup and can be easily customized to match my mood or game theme. Apart from gaming, I have also used this keyboard for everyday typing tasks and it has not disappointed. The keys are durable and the layout is comfortable, making long typing sessions a breeze. Additionally, the build quality is top-notch and the keyboard feels sturdy and well-made.
It is so loud, even when you try to be quiet, it's still loud. But I love how it looks and feels, so I use it when I'm alone at home

A good value gaming keyboard
This is a good value keyboard if you’re on a budget. My son is a tech fan and he was super excited at the look. It’s far different from anything he’s tried before and loved the retro look.
It’s got Rgb back lighting and the multi colours make it attractive.
The quality and build seems good so there’s no problem there but he wasn’t keen on the clicky sound of the keys. These gaming keyboards have a click to them and they have to sound clicky but not loud and this one does. However for the price it’s more than reasonable and would make a lovely gift for any gamer.
A great RGB mechanical keyboard with retro feel
This is a really nice keyboard for gaming fans and those that love old-skool mechanical keyboards. The twist is that it has a fantastic array of RGB lights to brighten up your usage!
It is slightly more compact than some keyboards available but unless you’re picky you probably won’t find this an issue. It has blue switches than give a classic ‘click’ sound, but not obtrusively so. You can easily remove the upper keyboard frame to offer a different aesthetic too.
In use I found that it is responsive and very nice to type with. My brother-in-law is a huge PC gamer and he gave it a big thumbs up when he tried it, so that’s good enough for me! Recommended.
Compact and heavy.
Very good built quality and much heavier than I had imagined. Compact size with numberpad.
The only negative for me are the Led lights. I would have liked to be able to cycle through different colours as opposed to different lighting sequences. They can be turned off fully though. Very good value for a quality keyboard.
Great quality, responsive and fun.
This is just as described by the seller.
My teenage son is a dedicated PC gamer and has spent more on keyboards than I spent on cars when I was a teenager and he likes this one – he was surprised by how good it was for the price as he originally came to it not expecting much!
According to him this is a 90% keyboard – so it is slightly smaller than a normal full size keyboard while still providing all the functionality. He prefers 60% keyboards for some unknown reason but this does my head in as they have no arrow keys or numpad! This is a good compromise as it has the arrow keys and numpad while still being quite compact. I think the thin border around the keyboard and muted beige and slightly retro colour scheme (although younger generations won’t know that!) help it appear even more compact.
This uses ‘Blue’ switches under the keys. Apparently this is important to know! Blue switches give a mechanical clickey sound to the key presses – again a throwback to the retro colour scheme, but this may not be suitable for everyone, particularly if you need a quiet environment.
The colours are changed by a combination of key presses and there are enough variations to keep you interested, however you do not have the granular control that you can get from the apps that control the much more expensive big brand keyboards. You get what you pay for here in that respect – but you get a lot more than you pay for in all other respects as this is a very capable and good looking keyboard for the price.
Rii Mechanical Keyboard RK909 - impressive for the price
This keyboard looks exactly like the seller’s excellent descriptive pictures.
When I took this keyboard out of its box I was surprised by how small it appeared. It gives the impression of being a full-size board but is actually around 40mm smaller than standard. This might not seem much but, when placed on a desk, it makes a difference. I have several small-sized keyboards, they are all pretty good, but none of them have lasted on my desk for very long – being about to touch-type at a crazy speed, my fingers and muscle memory needs full size keys. I was, therefore, doubtful, this keyboard would be able to survive my speed and exacting demands. I was wrong.
I lifted the small “feet” at the bottom and there was just the right amount of slope for typing comfortably and effortlessly – too many smaller keyboards lie totally flat, like a laptop keyboard, and that is no good for an extended typing session. In fact, everything about this board was “full size”, just with some clever manipulation of some keys. Okay, to use this daily will take a small learning curve to remember where some keys, especially word-processing keys, are, but that’s no big deal. The backlighting is excellent – I prefer boards with backlighting – it is easy to adjust and to adjust brightness.
The keys themselves are blue switches. Blues are “noisier”, you will hear a clacky, typing-type of sound – unlike the virtual silence of, say, a laptop keyboard. Interestingly, these are not as noisy as some blue switches I have used and that was another plus point. I typed some lines at around 80+ wpm and every letter appeared without a hitch. Letters, caps lock, enter key, all were where my muscle memory expected them to be.
Being left-handed (but, oddly, using a mouse with right hand) I have little to no use for a number pad on the right of a keyboard. The board I use mostly has a number pad that can go either side for when I need it. However, because the width of this Rii keyboard is smaller than average, the number pad didn’t get in the way and didn’t take up unnecessary space on my desk. Another point in its favour.
Although designed more for gaming, with each switch being said to function properly for “up to” 5 million presses, I found this keyboard to be really satisfying to type on. Okay, I did have to stop to find some keys which were in a different position but the letters and numbers were where they should be so that isn’t a negative at all – and I have several keyboards and a laptop that has keys in different positions anyway.
This keyboard is not going to satisfy everyone – I don’t think any keyboard will do that – but the layout is self-evident, it allows for extremely fast typing without skipping letters, it has a variety of back-lighting options, it is… everything I would want from a keyboard.
There is one small error with the seller’s display descriptions. Pictures 6 and 7 of the first set of display images show a “charging cable” and a “charging port”. I believe this might confuse some people since this is a wired keyboard, it is not wireless, therefore the cable and USB C port are not for charging, they are for giving “power” to the keyboard. Future customers note this before ordering. This is wired, it is not wireless.
There is just one thing I would have liked in the box – the usual tool required for removing and replacing the keys, along with instructions on how to do this. Okay, yes, I have several, but there will be customers who don’t have them and, since they would only cost pennies to add into the box, it is something the manufacturer should have thought about and added.
At 34.99 at the time of writing this review, this keyboard really is at the budget end for any board, not just mechanical with blue switches. It looks a bit gaudy with the different colours, but beauty is more than skin deep and you do get a lot of keyboard for your money. I’m really happy with this and will be replacing the (new) keyboard attached to my laptop with this keyboard, and will certainly bring it to my desktop when I need to replace the keyboard I use daily. A great little product. I can’t say how long it will last under normal use, only time will tell. For the moment, I can easily give this a 5 star rating and recommend it, and I will certainly be using it myself.
High quality budget mechanical keyboard
Not sure why this keyboard doesn’t have more reviews. The quality feels great for the price. It has blue (clicky) switches, but somehow they manage to not be obnoxiously loud. They’re quieter and smoother than the last keyboard I had.
It has a nice vintage look. I had planned to replace the orange keycaps with a different color, but they are slightly more rounded at the corners than the other keycaps I had, so I decided to stick with the orange. I really like that you can turn the backlight on and off and adjust the brightness, since I don’t like to use it most of the time.
It comes with a standard white USB-C cable. The only (very minor) complaint I have is that I wish the cable matched the beige/cream color of the keyboard or the grey keycap color.
