This has impressed me from getting it out of the box to laying it down. Not only did it roll straight out and lay flat but is quite durable and well made. The markings are nice and clear and easy to wipe clean.
The only downside is if you install on laminate floor i would suggest sticking the mat down as can slip.
I got this for a small bar area I am planning to set up in the garden. I wanted something that I could set up quickly to the official oche measurements and then put away again afterwards as i may use the dartboard inside or out. This was just what I was looking for.
Material is like a bath mat, rubber backed on one side with a durable carpet finish on top. It was a little thinner than I expected, but that had the benefit of being lighter weight and more compact for storage, and it was heavy enough to sit nicely on the floor.
The measurements were pretty accurate – it came up a cm or two short, but if you have a skirting board it would be set up spot on for the back of the dartboard. Certainly the different oche lines relative to each other were perfect.
All in all, very pleased with it and look forward to using it.
I had not seen a darts mat made from a carpet material before. It is similar to a carpet runner in design and use.
On opening the box I laid the mat out in front of the dartboard, and was surprised to see that it laid flat straight from the box, despite being rolled up for what I guess must have been some time whilst in storage.
It is lightweight, so easy to lay down, and in my experience, laying it on top of carpet tiles, it stayed put during several games of darts. It was also then easily rolled back up and put back into its original box ready for its next use.
The design is one you will make your own mind up on, we quite like it.
You have a variety of distance markers on it, but most importantly it has the standard 7′ 9.25″ for matches.
An added bonus is the fact that it does not show holes from the odd dart that rebounds from the dartboard wires onto the floor.
In summary I think it ideal for occasional use where you need to reclaim the space for other use due its lightness and ease of use. For a permanent application I would still prefer a rubber mat which can also deal with the odd drink spillage more easily. However, for its intended use it is a super item.
