The best built radiator i have bought, Well thought out.
I am impressed with the design and build if this radiator, What I am not impressed with is the day after I bought it the seller dropped the price by 25%. which is a big price drop and mine hadn’t even arrived yet.
Great little radiato
I ordered this to use in our caravan ( room size 18 x 7 feet).
We found it heated up quickly and heated the area very well.
I liked that it had the safety feature reaching temperature then cutting off which you can hear a click so I felt safe to leave it on over night and it kept us lovely and warm on the middle setting. I am definitely going to buy another one for use in the bedroom.
Very Good Buy
I bought this not as a replacement, but to try and lower the running costs I had on a slightly higher powered heater.
I was really surprised to see, that even on the lowest setting of 600W, my bedroom, which is 16sqm, so a decent size, actually got warmer and in less time, than it did with the higher powered one.
Needless to say, it has now become my main heater and will only got back to the other one, if something happens to this one.
Build wise, it is solid and quite nice to look at (for a heater). I don’t notice any noise from it at all.
I haven’t used the timer function, but could see it would be very handy.
The remote is also a good thing to have, although I have only used it a few times, I can easily adjust or turn on and off whilst walking past.
The only slight negative, as others have said….Power lead is a bit short, doesn’t affect me, but worth keeping in mind.
Overall….I would definitely recommend to others.
When looking for an oil filled radiator at a modest price I noticed that there were very many suppliers all selling the same Chinese product with different brand names written on them. I also noticed from reading the reviews that around 15% of them complained of leaking oil.
I therefore set out to find a supplier selling product from a different manufacturer without the complaints about oil leaks and so found this RWFlame product. I am very happy I made the choice. It is well made and chucks out plenty of heat even at the lowest 500W setting with no oil leaks.
Some reviewers have complained that it does not get hot enough, but I think they might find they actually get more heat if they turn it DOWN rather than UP.
There is only so much heat a small 7 segment radiator like this can give out. Heat output is limited by the surface area of the radiator. If the rad is set to the full 1500W setting and the thermostat dial is turned way up all that happens is it gets sizzling hot very quickly and the the safety cut out switches it off. (The light on the front remains on)
I did some experiments and found that after 3 minutes at 1500W the safety cut out switches off with a loud click, and then took 15 minutes to reset itself with another loud click
On the other hand it will work quite happily at 500W with the thermostat switching on and off with a soft click when the room is up to temperature. So my conclusion is that it is over powered for its size, and should best be operated at 100W or 500W with the thermostat set somewhere sensible.
Arrived late and wrong colour when it did turn up
Waited until 10pm for a no show then when it did turn up the following day despite ordering Black a grey one turned up
Good points the grey ones actually better looking than the black one so was worth the wait. 😉
First glance seems good sturdy well packaged and gets very warm
Just what i wanted
I use it for about 6 sq metres bedroom using only third of its potential heating ability and it is enough to keep it 18 C over the whole night. When outside is positive 3-6 C degrees. Heats up the room for one hour when i use 60% of its heating ability (900). I am more than satisfied for this price.
Has on/off switch, useful for those who experience power outages.
It’s smart looking, only has one handle on one end for moving around, (like the majority of radiators, why is that), so it’s awkward to lift, especially when hot. The thermostat seems to be way off, I have it in my music room, (in case of power failure), the room is at 68F even though the heater is set at 61F. Not that it matters as I rely on separate temperature gages. F or C is optional. Update. Unfortunately the thermostat on this went crazy. Changing of its own accord I didn’t believe it at first but this morning when I checked in it had set itself at 90F, yes 90F, how that happened I have no idea, but it was full on, endangering the instruments. So back it goes, to be replaced by an Electronic De’Longhi. A large house, I already have 4 of those.
My boiler has half given up (it makes hot water, but no central heating). This thing is a life saver. I tried electric “radiators”, they EAT electricity and waste a lot of hot air directly to the ceiling this actually radiates heat around the room, and retains it for a long time after it turns off. The timer function is also great, as I can turn it on overnight for an hour and it radiates that heat for a long while after!!
This Oil Filled radiator kicks out a surprising amount of heat for its size.
I believe i received a used rad as it was extremely dirty and not packaged correctly. The cord was screwed up and the bottom had big brown spots all over it. was immediately gong to repack and return but i thought i would test it out first – it worked great so i cleaned it up and we decided to keep it rather than going through all the hassle of organising a return. It does frustrate me though when a used item is resold as new!
The radiator has 3 heat settings, with the max drawing 1500w. There is an inbuilt thermostat that you can set according to your preferences, although this is a bit of guess work as there are no temperatures displayed on the dial.
We are using this rad to heat our hallway rather than turning on the central heating, it does a good job at keeping the hallway nice and warm.
Excluding my experience with the fact my rad was definitely a used one, i would recommend this rad to others, it compact, and has a high heat output.
Works really well
I got this as a Black Friday deal, really easy to set up and use. Pumps out a great amount of heat and the timer function is a bonus. It’s really neat and tidy looking and light which is helpful
