    Connection Ahoy!
I’ve got an old MacBook Pro (old according to Apple) and an old projector (still great). The laptop only has an HDMI port and the projector only has a VGA port. Voila! Cable ahoy to save the day! Good strong sturdy cable. Bang it in your bag. Done.

    Very useful
I was recently given a working, but older monitor and though that it would be nice to be able to “double screen” when working from home.
The only problem is that my new monitor has only 1 connection – VGA.
This cable allows me to output my laptop’s HDMI port into the monitor’s VGA.
    Good picture quality.
Cable seems to be well made – the screws on the VGA turn very smoothly and easily (unlike others I have tried).

    HDMI to VGA
This cable has a sleek appearance, featuring a thick nylon braid, well-finished VGA and HDMI male plugs, and an aluminium enclosure with gold-plated sockets. It’s a robust, thick, braided cable with outstanding build quality that should withstand normal wear and tear. Additionally, the connectors seem well-made. As with all VGA ports, the screws on the VGA side are a little tricky, but they are far less clumsy and much more sturdy than many others I have used.
I tried connecting hdmi to my dekstop with display port adopter as my desktop only has display port slots and it didnt work, i know its not the cables its my PC that hardly a cable runs on it.

Very nice quality cable, super useful.
I got this cable as a workaround for freeing up a HDMI port in the back of the TV and making use of a free VGA socket. Being an older television it only has a single HDMI port so cables like this are super useful for the purpose and saves requiring a separate multi-HDMI adapter box. I did out of curiosity try using it the other way around so VGA to the TV HDMI socket but I couldn’t get that to display for some reason, but that’s probably just me.

The quality of the cable itself as well as the VGA and HDMI ports are all excellent. Nice braided cables and everything fits into the sockets reassuringly snug.

I find the picture quality from the HDMI to VGA port to be excellent, every bit as good as HDMI to HDMI, and I am now able to use the Television HDMI socket for another device, just what I needed.

4/5 stars from me, only losing a star due to the fact I couldn’t get it to work VGA to TV HDMI. Again I suspect this might be somehow my error as opposed to the cable but still.

Useful for using an older monitor with a modern compute
This is a unidirectional HDMI to VGA cable. Ideal if you have an older monitor with only VGA ports and you want to use it with a newer computer or video card.
If you are upgrading your PC and can’t afford to buy a new monitor, then this cable will save you the expense.
Similarly if you need to give presentations at a number of venues, some of which have older equipment, then this cable will solve that problem as well.
The cable appears to be well made with an good outer braiding. The only downside that I can see is the strain reliefs at both ends are “abrupt” instead of tapered. This inevitably produces a high stress point which might lead to failure.

Very useful cable for old generation monitors
I have an older Eizo monitor that I couldn’t use with my graphics card. The monitor only has a couple of VGA ports, but my new NVidia card only offers a mix of HDMI and display ports.

For older generation monitors, VGA is the norm. It’s been that way for a few decades, but you won’t find a VGA card in any graphics card made in the last 10 years.

My Eizo now has a new lease of life.

I’m glad they make these VGA-to-HDMI cables. Otherwise many very good monitors would be unusable due to the ever changing connection standards.

This cable worked right out of the box without any configuration other than telling Windows which monitor is which. The performance is excellent. The connections are gold-plated.

Beware of Low Power HDMI limitations
Review of SLDXIAN HDMI to VGA (Male to Male) Cable,

A really good looking cable, heavy nylon braided with well finished VGA and HDMI male plugs encased in an aluminium casing with gold plated sockets.
An integrated I.C chip in the VGA connector allows conversion from full size HDMI to VGA only, non reversible one way only, this ideal for my old 1920 X 1080 dpi 32″ VGA monitor to act as a second screen to my HDMI enabled laptop allowing the full 1080 HD to be used.

However whilst I have an acceptable use for this cable one should be sure to read all the product description as to the usability of this cable, this as several low power HDMI output devices Blu-Ray, PS4, Mac mini and Apple TV do not supply enough power to use this cable.

Many other devices such as XBox, PS3 and others will work with this cable so one should be aware of its uses and limitations, that said this a good cable that works giving new life to older equipment, certainly useful to have in one’s arsenal of connection cables.

    Well made cable.
This cable is great for connecting older laptops to an hdmi TV or monitor.

The colours represent well and there is no flickering or graininess either.

It’s decent quality and has gold connectors so should always give a good connection.

I was only able to obtain the shortest of the cables so it isn’t very versatile for me.

The cable does not carry an audio signal according to my laptop.

I tried using this to connect and old pc monitor to a PlayStation 5 and it did connect, however the signal range is too much for the monitor resolution so it only showed 2/3 of the picture no matter what settings I tried. It may work on older games consoles though.

Cheap good quality conversion cable for under a tenner.

    Support an old monito
Great cable that allows me to use the HDMI port on my graphics card to drive my favourite old LG 22″ screen. Minimal setup is required, just attach the HDMI to the graphics output and plug the other end in to a VGA (D-sub) monitor. If you have multiple screens, visit the display settings (in Windows or Ubuntu, right click the wallpaper and select “Display Settings”, on Mac “System Preferences”/”Displays”) to tell it where the displays are in relation to each other.

    good cable neat connectors
I have previously used large dongles and heavy vga2vga cables to connect my vga monitors to HDMI outputs, but this cable in much neater, thinner and performed just a well. Nice fabric covered with neat vga connector including locking screws. Although vga is an old standard while the monitors are performing well it is great to extend their use with such cable choices.

    This just works
My old laptop had a VGA output. Ideal for connecting to an old but large monitor with a VGA input. My new laptop has an HDMI output – and now it connects directly to that old monitor. No questions, no problems. It just works

    Solid, good quality cable
This is a solid, well-made, braided cable ideal for connecting computers with (more modern) HDMI slots to monitors or projectors with (older) VGA slots. Note that it cannot work the other way – but that it’s actually easier to find VGA-HDMI cables, if that’s what you want, than this, an HDMI-VGA cable.

Firstly, it’s worth noting that HDMI cables, unlike, say, sound cables, basically either work or don’t work – there aren’t fine gradations of quality. This one works.

The build quality is excellent – it’s a chunky, strong, braided cable that should deal well with wear and tear. The connectors also feel solidly made. The screws on the VGA side work well – fiddly, as always with VGA ports, but a lot less fiddly and a lot more solid than many I have used.

It connected my laptop to a monitor instantly and without trouble; it did the same docking station-monitor. With a projector it mirrored the screen perfectly – I had some issues with a presentation, but think that is an issue with the projector not the cable. I will update this if it turns out not to be the case.

In the past, I, like many people, have used an extra HDMI-VGA convertor, plugging into a VGA cable, to use my projector; that’s fine, but does add the possibility of something going wrong – like the convertor-cable connection not being tight enough and failing during a presentation, for instance. This gets rid of that problem and gives a nice secure reliable fit between computer and projector or monitor. It’s also a great choice for people wanting to keep good old monitors working – since monitors often last a lot longer than the computers they work with.

All in all, a great choice at a decent price (10.99 at time of review).

Saved an old VGA monitor from being taken to the dump to be recycled.
I have a 5 year old Lenovo laptop that is still going strong. I now need an external monitor to make it more usable, but to do this on a budget.

I have been given an old square type Dell monitor from yesteryear. It only has a VGA input terminal. The laptop provides HDMI output so this lead would convert the HDMI to VGA to allow me to use this old monitor and without spending a lot of money.

This is a very well made cable, gold plated terminal and the cable is braided. Feels like it can survive the dangers of a cable connected to a monitor from a laptop.

I opted for the 1.8M size to allow me to route the cable on my desk to the monitor with little visible mess.

I have been using another product that does the same thing. It has HDMI plug connected to a box the size of a matchbox which gives a VGA socket. You need a VGA cable to the connect it to the box and monitor. It is quite a mess but to be fair, it does work.

This solution does work and, for me, eliminates the ugly box and VGA cable combination.

Good value for what you get, especially for me, as you have an all in one solution to reuse your old monitors.

    Does the job perfectly
Need to recover data from an old laptop, but the screen doesn’t work ? No problemo, just buy this, wait for delivery then open the ziplock bag. While revelling in the nicely braided quality of the grey cable, remove the white protective caps from both VGA & HDMI connectors.

Plug the VGA end into your old laptop’s VGA port, plug the HDMI into your telly. Er…that’s it…joking aside if you need a HDMI to VGA cable, this one does the job. It also does it at a decent price.

Ideal well made HDMI to VGA adapter lead
For those of us that still have monitors with only VGA inputs this is particularly useful as VGA display outputs aren’t always available on new devices. This is a strong well-made lead, nylon braided and of useful length (1.8M). I tested it by linking my monitor to my tablet. It worked well and I’m sure will come in useful in the future and being just the one lead avoids the need to use various adapters.

Such a useful cable to connect a laptop with HDMI to an older television or monitor with older VGA
I am so delighted to see something like this created today, because years ago, it would be impossible to
create an adaptor such as this, without the use of additional conversion boxes requiring power too.
This adaptor will allow a PC or Laptop (with an HDMI video socket out), to connect to older Monitors and TVs which have VGA sockets fitted, and most of my TVs and PC monitors are just like this.
A VGA plug, by the way, has 15 pins, going into the VGA socket (also 15 female pins), and all the advanced electronics are fitted into this plug, to allow a conversion of this type to take place.
It will support up to 1920 x 1080, Full HD at 60hz, and I found it so useful for my raspberry pi project pcs,
which use just an HDMI video out, so this cable was perfect to connect that micro pc to an old style monitor or tv with a VGA socket.
As the makers said, be careful, as this connects a PC/Laptop with HDMI — to — a PC Monitor/TV with VGA, and not the other way round (ie. PC with VGA — to — TV with HDMI)
I must thank you for a great cable, which I would never even have known to exist. Please see images included, and some of them show the cable in use from my Laptop (with HDMI) to an older TV, which has a VGA socket at the back (along with other video sockets).

    Good quality
This is a sturdy 1.8 metre VGA to HDMI cable.
The outer braided sleeve is quite stiff but feels like it’ll provide quite a bit of protection including against RF interference.

The connectors are gold plated to give a better connection and both the VGA and HDMI plugs fitted nicely into their respective sockets. The VGA connector screw in pins fitted well and were easy to turn by hand.

I used this cable to connect an old laptop to a 32″ 1080P TV and the results were good. The signal gave a sharp picture with no interference. The extra length allowed me to position the laptop where I wanted it rather than being restricted to just the immediate area around the TV.

Verdict: Good buy and at a reasonable price.

A Smart Cable to Connect the Old (monitor) to the New (computer)
If you have a new computer and want to connect it to your old trusty monitor this is the lead for you. Distinguishing itself from the stiff beige plastic leads of yore this is a smart object with nylon braided cable and grey aluminium plugs with gold plated pins.
There is not much else to say. The cable takes care of the necessary conversions and at 1.8 meters long it doesn’t tie your PC and monitor too close together. One thing it isn’t is bidirectional. This lead connects a VGA monitor to an HDMI computer; it does not connect an old VGA computer to a modern HDMI monitor.
Even if you don’t immediately need it, this is a useful item to have in your cable box for the time your sparkling new monitor packs in and you have to get the old one out of the loft until it’s repaired.

Good Quality Cable for Crisp Video
Current and new laptops and Chromebooks have replaced the VGA video output with standard HDMI, Mini HDMI or USB C ports. And new monitors have also followed suit by offering HDMI inputs.
I still have x2 old flat screen monitors that have VGA input only and work perfectly fine, so this cable by SLDXIAN was just the right solution to keep using them.

The cable arrived packaged in a Ziplock plastic bag and both connectors were fitted with plastic caps to protect against contamination. The cable’s braiding and connector mouldings were of good quality while both connectors were gold plated for better conductivity and corrosion resistance.

I can now connect and extend my Windows laptop, which only has HDMI video output , directly to my large flat screen using this cable without the additional signal converter/adapter in between.
While with my Chromebook which has an USB C output, I can use the compact single USB C to HDMI adapter (instead of a bulky hub), when extending to the large monitor.
I’m glad I opted for the 1.8 M length cable as it offers more layout flexibility.

Together with the discount voucher, this cable is worth the investment.

    Nice quality cable
Upon trying to connect an old monitor as a third screen, I discovered there was no HDMI socket, and therefore needed something to connect from the HDMI port on my laptop to the monitor’s VGA socket. This cable was perfect for the job.

I ordered the 1m version as this was more than enough for my needs. The cable is strong, thick and braided, and the connectors are gold-plated. This is literally plug and play, given that the cable itself converts the signal into analogue, and the picture quality is as good as with my other monitor, which is HDMI to HDMI.

Very happy with it, does exactly what I needed.

    Good looking conversion lead
Great looking lead, coverts VGA to HDMI. The lead itself is a braided soft metalic plastic which looks smart and the lead works. I can not comment on quality of image etc as I don’t have anything to compare it with but for what I want it works perfectly well
