This cable has a sleek appearance, featuring a thick nylon braid, well-finished VGA and HDMI male plugs, and an aluminium enclosure with gold-plated sockets. It’s a robust, thick, braided cable with outstanding build quality that should withstand normal wear and tear. Additionally, the connectors seem well-made. As with all VGA ports, the screws on the VGA side are a little tricky, but they are far less clumsy and much more sturdy than many others I have used.
I tried connecting hdmi to my dekstop with display port adopter as my desktop only has display port slots and it didnt work, i know its not the cables its my PC that hardly a cable runs on it.

I got this cable as a workaround for freeing up a HDMI port in the back of the TV and making use of a free VGA socket. Being an older television it only has a single HDMI port so cables like this are super useful for the purpose and saves requiring a separate multi-HDMI adapter box. I did out of curiosity try using it the other way around so VGA to the TV HDMI socket but I couldn’t get that to display for some reason, but that’s probably just me.

The quality of the cable itself as well as the VGA and HDMI ports are all excellent. Nice braided cables and everything fits into the sockets reassuringly snug.

I find the picture quality from the HDMI to VGA port to be excellent, every bit as good as HDMI to HDMI, and I am now able to use the Television HDMI socket for another device, just what I needed.

4/5 stars from me, only losing a star due to the fact I couldn’t get it to work VGA to TV HDMI. Again I suspect this might be somehow my error as opposed to the cable but still.

Review of SLDXIAN HDMI to VGA (Male to Male) Cable,

A really good looking cable, heavy nylon braided with well finished VGA and HDMI male plugs encased in an aluminium casing with gold plated sockets.
An integrated I.C chip in the VGA connector allows conversion from full size HDMI to VGA only, non reversible one way only, this ideal for my old 1920 X 1080 dpi 32″ VGA monitor to act as a second screen to my HDMI enabled laptop allowing the full 1080 HD to be used.

However whilst I have an acceptable use for this cable one should be sure to read all the product description as to the usability of this cable, this as several low power HDMI output devices Blu-Ray, PS4, Mac mini and Apple TV do not supply enough power to use this cable.

Many other devices such as XBox, PS3 and others will work with this cable so one should be aware of its uses and limitations, that said this a good cable that works giving new life to older equipment, certainly useful to have in one’s arsenal of connection cables.

This is a solid, well-made, braided cable ideal for connecting computers with (more modern) HDMI slots to monitors or projectors with (older) VGA slots. Note that it cannot work the other way – but that it’s actually easier to find VGA-HDMI cables, if that’s what you want, than this, an HDMI-VGA cable.

Firstly, it’s worth noting that HDMI cables, unlike, say, sound cables, basically either work or don’t work – there aren’t fine gradations of quality. This one works.

The build quality is excellent – it’s a chunky, strong, braided cable that should deal well with wear and tear. The connectors also feel solidly made. The screws on the VGA side work well – fiddly, as always with VGA ports, but a lot less fiddly and a lot more solid than many I have used.

It connected my laptop to a monitor instantly and without trouble; it did the same docking station-monitor. With a projector it mirrored the screen perfectly – I had some issues with a presentation, but think that is an issue with the projector not the cable. I will update this if it turns out not to be the case.

In the past, I, like many people, have used an extra HDMI-VGA convertor, plugging into a VGA cable, to use my projector; that’s fine, but does add the possibility of something going wrong – like the convertor-cable connection not being tight enough and failing during a presentation, for instance. This gets rid of that problem and gives a nice secure reliable fit between computer and projector or monitor. It’s also a great choice for people wanting to keep good old monitors working – since monitors often last a lot longer than the computers they work with.

All in all, a great choice at a decent price (10.99 at time of review).

I have a 5 year old Lenovo laptop that is still going strong. I now need an external monitor to make it more usable, but to do this on a budget.

I have been given an old square type Dell monitor from yesteryear. It only has a VGA input terminal. The laptop provides HDMI output so this lead would convert the HDMI to VGA to allow me to use this old monitor and without spending a lot of money.

This is a very well made cable, gold plated terminal and the cable is braided. Feels like it can survive the dangers of a cable connected to a monitor from a laptop.

I opted for the 1.8M size to allow me to route the cable on my desk to the monitor with little visible mess.

I have been using another product that does the same thing. It has HDMI plug connected to a box the size of a matchbox which gives a VGA socket. You need a VGA cable to the connect it to the box and monitor. It is quite a mess but to be fair, it does work.

This solution does work and, for me, eliminates the ugly box and VGA cable combination.

Good value for what you get, especially for me, as you have an all in one solution to reuse your old monitors.

I am so delighted to see something like this created today, because years ago, it would be impossible to
create an adaptor such as this, without the use of additional conversion boxes requiring power too.
This adaptor will allow a PC or Laptop (with an HDMI video socket out), to connect to older Monitors and TVs which have VGA sockets fitted, and most of my TVs and PC monitors are just like this.
A VGA plug, by the way, has 15 pins, going into the VGA socket (also 15 female pins), and all the advanced electronics are fitted into this plug, to allow a conversion of this type to take place.
It will support up to 1920 x 1080, Full HD at 60hz, and I found it so useful for my raspberry pi project pcs,
which use just an HDMI video out, so this cable was perfect to connect that micro pc to an old style monitor or tv with a VGA socket.
As the makers said, be careful, as this connects a PC/Laptop with HDMI — to — a PC Monitor/TV with VGA, and not the other way round (ie. PC with VGA — to — TV with HDMI)
I must thank you for a great cable, which I would never even have known to exist. Please see images included, and some of them show the cable in use from my Laptop (with HDMI) to an older TV, which has a VGA socket at the back (along with other video sockets).
