    Great for Trekkies
Just purchased seasons 1-3 and took out subscription to Paramount so I could watch season 4, I will still be buying the dvd when it comes out, once it has dropped to a sensible price.

    Lower Decks goes to DS9
Star Trek Lower Decks Season 3 picks up where Season 2 finished off, and has plenty of fun.

The highlight of Season 3 is the Cerritos’s visit to Deep Space Nine, where in the episode “Hear All, Trust Nothing.” they meet Colonel Kira Nerys and Quark, even Morn is there.

The rest of the episodes and good too.

Looking forward to Season 4, and the live action crossover with Strange New Worlds.

    More Lower Decks
Mariner is determined to rescue her mother Captain Freeman after she is framed for destroying the Pakled home planet. Picking up where season 2 left off once again this is more animated fun in the style of The Simpsons or Rick And Morty but set in the Star Trek universe with references and cameos galore including James Cromwell back as Zephram Cochrane from Star Trek First Contact and a crossover episode with Deep Space Nine getting animated with guest appearances from Nana Visitor and Armin Shimmerman back as Major Kira and Quark leading to the season finale setting up season 4. The animation is well done with the regular voice cast on fine form and lots of hilarious in jokes for fans to spot on repeat viewing with the series proving once again that Star Trek can poke fun at itself even if some fans can’t.

    Easily my favourite "New Trek"
Easily my favourite “New Trek” but…..
Remember when you’d go out and buy the dvd and you’d get a load of special features giving you insight into the making of the series or film, back stories of characters, alternative episode commentaries etc? Apparently that’s not a thing anymore

This is my second attempt at reviewing this item, I’ve literally copied and pasted the last review verbatim but according to Amazon:

    Another year of Lower Decking
A two disc dvd box set with all ten episodes of ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’, season three. An animated Star Trek show that focused on lesser ranked crewmembers. And has built up a bit of backstory by now so new viewers should start with season one.

Every episode is the usual twenty six mins in length [approx].

The first episode picks up from where season two left off. With the crew having to deal with what happened. Some deal with it better than others…..

The usual follows. Star Trek stories in less than half an hour of animation. But they’re stories that work as Star Trek. They get what makes it work. They have great ideas galore. There are once again some really cameos from previously existing characters. I do think as well Mariner does become a little more likeable over the course of this run. There have been times in the past where she has been full of herself, but she does get a bit more tolerable as a character this time round.

It’s not a show that stands still, either. It has allowed it’s characters to develop. It keeps on doing so here. The main ones do get excellent development and story arcs over the course of the season.

I won’t say much more than that because it’s a pleasure discovering the episodes for yourself. If you’ve come this far with the show, then you’ll already love it. You will keep on loving it after this season. Fourth one is imminent at the time of writing.

Do keep watching during the end credits of the season finale….

The dvd has the following language and subtitle options:
    Languages: English.
    Subtitles; English.

    Extras:
Episodes one six seven eight and ten all have audio commentaries from various of those involved.

    Two features:

Docking at Deep Space Nine. This is an in depth look at episode six, that runs for thirteen mins. It’s not accessed via the extras menu on the dvd. It’s on the episode menu, right below the episode in question. It’s a really good and entertaining watch.

Lower Decktionary: season three. An overview of the whole season. This runs for thirty three mins. But as with the above, it’s excellent fun and absorbing viewing. Time watching it will fly by. But it will be time well spent.

I was disappointed to not see a UK Blu-ray release of Star Trek Lower Decks Season 3. As a dedicated fan I eventually decided to buy this US import. Thankfully it works in my UK blu-ray player and is in English. Pleased to maintain my physical media collection of Star Trek.

I ordered the first 2 seasons from Amazon UK and got regular Blu-ray cases with cardboard slip-clases over the top of them, whereas this one being a US release - they kinda cheaped out. No slip-case. And, the case itself is a bit slimmer, thinner and doesn't feel as sturdy. At least it plays fine on our Aussie Blu-ray players. This show just gets better with each season!

    Lower Decks Forever!
I am die hard Star Trek fan, and I am sure after all these years ever fan has series they like, and don’t like.

I can’t help but laugh at the absurdity of what happens during a brief 20-25 minute episode. It seems almost like the Lower Deck crew is running the ship while the senior staff is obvious to what is happening around them until the poop hits the fan, then “Oh those Engins might have clue what is going on.” Other times its the reverse.

Season 3 consists of episodes 30-40, and you can feel the series hitting its stride here. I think a lot of Star Trek fans were hyped to see D.S.9 return after being treated like the red headed step child of Star Trek for the last few years.

If you are looking for a laugh, and like Star Trek, and don’t want to pay for another streaming service, I implore you to buy this DVD set. You won’t regret it.
