I am not sure if you could call this just too stereotypical as I am not sure I have ever seen a French person with a string of garlics around their neck – I thought it was onions anyway!!
I got this for a fancy dress party. The moustaches are tickly and look like a 70s porn-star vibe. The garlics are surprisingly realistic and the beret and cheap and nasty but the whole package is excellent if you need a french fancy dress costume.
All coming in at < 10 with Prime delivery - it was perfect for my purposes. Recommended!!
Fun French fancy dress accessories
The beret had is made well and fits nicely on my head.
The garlic garland is extremely lightweight with realistic looking garlic but uncomfortable to wear around neck.
The moustache is great too and there are several in the pack to use the accessories on multiple occasions.
Nice fancy dress accessories overall.
Great for the Six Nations
I got this set to use as Fancy dress for the recent Wales v France game in the Six Nations and it more than did the job. The Moustache applied well and stayed on all day and the garlic looks very realistic indeed. The Beret also fitted an adult head with ease too. Overall a fun set for a good price. Recommended!

I ordered this as my daughter was having a French day at school so as you can imagine she went with these added accessories to her red, white and blue clothing and she looked brilliant. Really impressed with the value and how they looked on her and they are easily items we can use again, and the fake food would even look great on display in a kitchen – great quality and quite a few uses too!
Oui oui
Oui Oui Oui. This is a great thing to have for any fancy dress or like me just get it and surprise the family in my best french accent. Lots or spare moustaches too so not just one in the set. And the garlic and beret are very good quality.
Pretty basic
Didn’t expect it to be great but the garlic string is quite convincing – although a bit itchy round the neck – and you get a few moustaches which is good as they’re not going to last long with reuse and sweat! Funny though, if not a little ‘un-pc’ – but it does what it says on the tin!
Very Stereotypically French, Oui.
The 3 piece French fancy dress costume provides almost everything you need to look absolutely French.
All that’s missing is the striped top, which you need to provide yourself.
You get a black beret, a necklace of garlic bulbs and not just one but SIX stick on moustaches. I think you’re supposed to wear one at a time to get the optimum result but you could layer them or wear any of the additional moustaches as eyebrow curtains if you felt like it.
I really like the multi-use aspect in that if you decide you don’t want to look “French”, then you can use the beret and the moustache to create your very own mime outfit. Or, you could go crazy and be a French Mime.
In terms of value for money, you can use the entire costume six times (once per moustache) and perhaps more if you look after the moustaches or use a skin-safe glue so you’ll definitely get a fair amount of use for the price.
Great fun, well made
This is such a great costume, good fun, would make a lovely fancy dress outfit. It is very ‘stereotypical’ but it looks great on (I wore it as a woman complete with the trash and thought it looked hilarious). The beret is well made and a nice elasticated fit and it comes with several fake moustaches which stick on to your upper lip. The string of garlic bulbs look really realistic and are good fun too. Perfect outfit for a fancy dress event or something like World Book Day. Highly recommended.
French Fancy?
This “Frenchman” kit is a little bit of fun at the expense of the archetypal French country bumpkin. All it needs is a stripy t-shirt and a bicycle to complete the look.
The beret is extremely lightweight, seems more like a shower cap than a beret, and refuses to go into a decent shape, the garlic bulbs have been threaded through the centre rather than the tops and the mustachios are light felt with a sticky back.
All very cheap and tacky, but perfect for the one night in fancy dress, World Book day outfit, or something similar.
I wouldn’t expect it to last much longer than that, but it’s still a decent buy for a fun event.
World book day
This arrived the next day you get a black Beret , six felt moustaches, and a necklace made of garlic. The garlic is realistic and the beret is fully elasticated, so that it can fit most head sizes and the moustaches simply have a peel off back and you stick them to your face. Good cheap dress up set for whatever you need it for.

Although the style of this is very stereotypical and could quite easily get you cancelled these days…
a dozen bulbs of garlic on a string, and the moustache and beret go nicely with a striped top and bicycle (not included) – great to have in the drawer for that surprise fancy dress party.
Simple but so effectively French
This is such a quick and effective way of creating a French character. All you need to do is pair it with a stripy top and you’re done.
The set consists of three items – the string of garlic, a black beret and impressive handlebar moustache.
The garlic is fantastically realistic and the beret fully elasticated, so that it can fit any head. The kit comes with six moustaches. These simply have a peel off back and you stick them to your face. I just tore off the middle section of the backing paper and it stayed put very well. If you were wearing it all day though you’d probably stick the whole thing to your face but fear not, the adhesive is not so strong that it’s painful to remove the moustache – there will be no impromptu facial waxing using these!
Terrific fun and instantly recognisable as being French, albeit in a slightly caricaturesque fashion, this set is great value at 8.95 (at time of ordering).

The beret is cheaply made, as is the moustache. The garlic braid is quite authentic in terms of looks, and the bulbs weigh barely anything, which makes it ideal for a fancy dress party.

Decent enough for a cheap WBD costume
My son wanted to be a ‘french’ person for world book day, no idea what book that meant so we settled on the author of the ‘The Little Prince’ – this set works well, paired with a breton top. Not the best quality, some fake garlic and a hat, will not survive being used many times but works ok for something like world book day (not hallowen as french people are not scary). Is it cultural appropriate, probably ok. Does it work? Yes.

This French costume could be used for either male or female it consists of a black Beret , six felt moustaches, and a necklace made of onions .
The onions look really good and are light to wear around your neck , the moustaches are easy to fix in place plus you get six of them .The beret is comfortable to wear and made of a thin felt material .
This costume would be great the book day , fancy dress parties etc .
Fun three piece French costume
Consists of a string of garlic, a black beret and a set of self adhesive moustaches. The beret is a costume piece, not a regular material beret, but should last for the occasion. The garlic bulbs are quite realistic and are have plastic tubes connecting them. There are six moustaches which are felt-like and self adhesive – to attach simply remove backing paper and stick to the upper lip. The moustaches stick fairly well but it’s good to have the spares on you in case they get tired and fall off. Good fun for a joke, book day or fancy dress.
