180Hz Refresh Rate

Competitive and intense gaming demands the best technology to ensure lag-free, smoother gaming. This AGON by AOC monitor features a 180Hz refresh rate, making it 3x faster than a standard display. A lower frame rate can make enemies appear to jump from spot to spot on the screen, making them very difficult targets to hit. A 180Hz frame rate restores those critical missing images back onto the screen, revealing enemy movements in ultra-smooth motion, letting you more easily target. With this AGON by AOC gaming monitor, you won’t have to put up with input-lag and screen tearing.

Vesa Certified DisplayHDR 400

Even the lowest level of High Dynamic Range (HDR) feature poses a significant upgrade to common monitors. The peak luminance of 400 cd/m² enables your display to hone the picture quality with a manifold colour spectrum and more diverse contrast. The VESA-certificate ensures richness of detail and realistic portrayals of game and film worlds.

HDMI

HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is supported by the current gaming consoles, current GPUs, set-top boxes, supporting the HDCP digital content protection system. HDMI 1.3-1.4b versions support up to 144 Hz refresh rate@1080p and 75 Hz@1440p, while HDMI 2.0-2.0b versions support 240Hz@1080p, 144Hz@1440p and 60 Hz@2160p (4K).

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe CU34G2XP does not have speakers
The description for the CU34G2XP is incorrect. I contacted AOC and they informed me that this unit does not have speakers, it is confusing why Windows detects the monitor as having speakers though. This issue needs to be addressed.

What a monitor! Don’t hesitate if you want a 1440p monito
Bloody love this monitor. Upgraded from a Samsung 1080 to this 1440p monitor.

The image is incredible, the colours are so deep and having this on my desk my k/d in warzone is much more respectable. Great pairing with my 4070 graphics card.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood monitor bad speakers
I had to return it because it was faulty so it ruined my 1st impression but I got the same one from somewhere else, Good quality monitor, easy to assemble, comes with hdmi and dp cable, really good for the price, speakers are absolute rubbish, but can’t complain for the price.

    Great once set up
Great monitor once everything set up to my taste. No black smearing, I don’t really notice any difference between this VA panel and any other type, other than the blacks are blacker. The red tint people talk about is gone with simple rgb adjustment.
My only criticism is I wish I didn’t have to spend so long adjusting but it was simple enough.

    Low pixel density
Due to the resolution at this size the pixel density seems quite low to the eyes,

The colour and framerate are consistent and there are plenty of settings to customise them to your own needs

    good quality monito
I like it, it’s pretty good. I’ve used it with a MacBook pro and a PC and I haven’t had any problems.
The height is adjustable and you can make it vertical. it also tilts on front but does not tilt back.

Definitely worth it, even if you're not a game
The AOC Gaming 24G2SP has been awesome. The 24-inch screen is the perfect size for my desk, also offering a higher pixel density than the 27″. The 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time really make a difference in fast-paced games — everything feels super smooth and responsive. The colors are bright and accurate, and the adjustable stand is a nice touch for getting the perfect angle. Overall, it’s a fantastic monitor for the price, especially on discount (bought for 119.99)

    The best monito
Best monitor I’ve used. Use it on PS5 and it’s great. Don’t know why 24 inch 1440p are so rare, I think this is the best spec for FPS games. AOC could definitely improve their menus and navigation though as it is shocking aha, but is a great monitor nevertheless.

    Great value for money monito
I have recently purchased this monitor for both gaming and working from home and I am very pleased with the value for money this monitor provides.
Setup was quick and easy and the screen packs a punch when gaming or watching videos online. Given the price tag I would recommend going for it as you won’t be disappointed.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersGreat picture and frame rate.
This was a steal for me while on sale, it’s absolutely smooth and great for those looking for a clear and crisp gaming experience.

It was easy to set up and assemble together, comes with British plug and EU/American 2 pin plug. As well as a HDMI and the other display cable I use that plugs into the back of the HDMI. You have two HDMI slots at the back, as well as the 1 other display slot.

Having the other display slot is great if you’re running multi display set up.

It’s ideal for what I want and need, and I highly recommend if you’re looking for a nicely priced monitor for a decent gaming experience. The size for me is the icing on the cake, it is PERFECT!

It’s well packaged too so you do not have to worry about it coming damaged, just remember to go careful when assembling. Other than that, you can go wrong with this purchase I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough.

    Perfect 1440p monitor for gaming
Before I bought this monitor I was using a triple 1080p monitor setup and I could never go back to anything lower than 1440p after using these monitors.

I invested in three of these monitors to replace my previous ones, and they have been perfect, I use them for gaming and also general usage, the quality difference from 1080p is night and day and while the monitor only goes up to 60hz using hdmi, the 155hz achieved by using a display port cable makes this the perfect 1440p monitor for the price.

The monitor does lack being curved however if you are using more than 1 then this isn’t an issue and the screen only being 27″ means being curved isn’t needed anyway. I can’t recommend these monitors enough, get them while they are still at a really good price.

    Great gaming monito
I bought this as a replacement for a flat screen AOC that was cracked (accidently when my son decided to have a rage out on the PlayStation LOL).

Great picture quality, refresh rate is good and the curve screen brings a different gaming experience which he got used to straight away and now says he will not go back to a flat scree

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersCheap and cheerful
This monitor was exactly what I was looking for at an exceptional price point. 4k, high refresh rates, IPS display; fully articulated stand; aux port (no speakers). It is lightweight, has no power brick (but also no USB-C DP) and fit the space I had perfectly.
The colour accuracy looks fantastic, the refresh rates are a dream and my games are looking superb while documents and PDFs are looking sharper than ever.
This monitor is exactly what I needed to make the most of my RTX 4080S graphic card and the difference coming from 1080p was like night and day.
I wish I had upgraded sooner. At 500, it is an absolute steal!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOutstanding!
Coming from a 10-year-old 60hz 24″ Dell HDMI monitor, the transition was amazing! HDR, IPS, Display Port, 180hz and bezel less design and most importantly it’s calibrated at the factory. Running my old TA panel next to this IPS I could see how sharp and clear the image was, much brighter and vibrant.

Windows and NVIDIA software recognised the monitor as soon as it was connected and no configuration (apart from switching on HDR and turning down the brightness) were needed.

The base it is supplied with is quite large, but I used a VESA arm mount so this was not a concern for me.

A very capable monitor at a fantastic price, would recommend. This model was released in Feb. 2024.

    No UK power lead supplied
I haven’t yet turned this on, I thought it would be a good option as I use a pair of Q27G2S monitors at work and they’re great.
However, I bought the CQ32G2SE for my wife and it only comes with an EU 2 pin plug in the box, despite no information about this is provided in the product listing. It also doesn’t use a standard kettle lead so isn’t easily switched for an existing power lead. The Q27G2S monitors are supplied with UK and EU kettle leads in the box, so I am unsure why this version is different.
The only option Amazon offered is to return it for a refund which is not a good solution.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSuper immersio
I wanted an ultrawide after seeing my favourite games (total war Warhammer) displayed on a friend’s. I appreciate the wider view of battles and being zoomed in more at the same time. First person shooters look great too, the immersion really adds to the experience. Definitely wouldn’t go back to 16:9 screen.
This AOC is brighter than I thought it would be and the contrast is great.

I bought this monitor specifically for PC gaming but PlayStation 3 and 4 games scale well on this screen. Solid build quality and no dead pixels.

Would recommend this monitor if you play alot of single player games

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersOUTSTANDING. 9/10. GREAT ON PC & PS5.
Absolutely outstanding monitor for the price. I went with the 27″ FHD flat version. I was previously playing on a 700 Lenovo Legion Y27gq-25, which was a 2560×1440 display with a 240hz refresh rate and a 0.5ms response time. It was a beast, however, due to my aging PC hardware, I wanted to go back to 1920×1080 for the big performance boost.

Of course, I was very skeptical about switching from my Lenovo to a relatively cheap 1920x1080p monitor. How could the picture quality even compare, I thought.

Well, when testing this monitor on both my PC and PS5, not only did the picture quality exceed my expectations, it blew me away. How a 1920×1080 monitor can look this good is beyond me. If you are like me and don’t sit too close to the screen, then you honestly will not be able to tell the difference against a 2560×1440 display. You know what? I actually think it looks better than my Lenovo. It’s crisper, sharper and way more colourful. The colour on this monitor is absolutely stunning. I personally use the ‘FPS’ preset mode, as it looks amazing on all games. The display is dull and lifeless if you don’t use the FPS preset, in my opinion.

Why only a 9/10 and not a 10/10, given my praise? Well, the stand. It’s bad. It allows you to tilt the screen upward, but not downwards. It also doesn’t allow you to tilt down to the left or down to the right. My monitor looks very lopsided to the left, so I have to prop up the opposite side with a paper wedge to even it out which is not ideal. Perhaps my table is wonky, but either way, very annoying that they missed out such a basic feature. It’s also rather wobbly, doesn’t feel overly solid despite being fixed in place.

I purchased a monitor arm to solve this issue, however, I did not realise that AOC monitors do not support regular VESA mounts like the other 99% of monitor on the market do. It will work, but you can only use two screws, as the bottom two screws won’t line up. You’ll need to find an arm compatible with AOC.

Lastly, the audio sucks. Very weak and tinny but, I won’t mark it down for that as 99% of people will be using headphones and/or external speakers.

Overall, a fantastic monitor for the price point. I am glad with my choice and have no regrets. Shame about the stand and lack of compatibly with most monitor arms but, once I find an AOC compatible arm, it really will be faultless.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGood quality monito
Overall this is a pretty good gaming monitor. I bought the 27inch which is perfect for my room.

The display is clear, vibrant colours and offers a number of configuration options to match most needs.

The menu gets some effort and time to master and the accompanied software could had been better.

In my case sometimes the HDMI connection breaks and I have to take the cable out and force it in again in. It seems the ports may be the Achilles heal of this monitor.

Switching between multiple monitors can be achieved via a button and via the software.

I haven’t noticed any lag during gaming and when connected to DP it achieves 155Mh.

The base is OK but it seems too low and I am now looking ways to set it a little higher to avoid turning it into an angle.

I noticed a price increase from the 149 I bought it, so it might be worth to wait until after holidays to buy it.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersMake sure you tweak the settings ;-)
I bought this monitor at the Black Friday sale price of ~150 and for that price it is an absolute bargain.
My initial thoughts however were not so positive as the picture set up straight out of the box is nothing short of terrible. There is no contrast. The brightness was way too high and the colours were massively over saturated.
The On Screen Menus for adjusting the image are a little confusing and the process of adjustment is made harder by the ‘hidden’ buttons that select the adjustment functions. To add to this, there is no real documentation included in the box and even the online manual is less than helpful.
I’d almost given up on finding an ideal set up but then I stumbled upon a few settings under the ‘Game Settings’ menu and it made a night and day difference to the image quality.
For anyone who may be struggling, try these settings out :
    Game Mode – ‘Gamer 2’
    Shadow Control – ‘4.0’
    Game Colour – ‘8’
For me, these settings really made the image pop. The blacks are black and the colours and contrast are perfectly matched.
Adjusting ‘Shadow Control’ and ‘Game Colour’ to your tastes are all you really need to do.
(For reference I’ve got mine hooked up to an Xbox Series X)

Golden Review Award: 57 From Our UsersCan't fault it yet for competitive gaming.
Have owned the monitor for 3 months as of writing this review.

The stand is awful. The long leg spikes will try to go under your mouse matt unless you angle them just right (which you will need to do to stop your mouse bumping into them in the heat of battleXD). And the OSD buttons are a clown show, but the part that counts is…

Frankly I can’t imagine any 240Hz monitor being faster or clearer for fps gaming. Even TN panels. I also can’t imagine the LMB on the 240Hz Zowies being any better for fps. I’m not an expert and have upgraded to this from a 144Hz TN panel, so my experience with various monitors is modest to say the least. But I am very good at fps games and play competitively. To my mind this is as good as a 240Hz gaming monitor can/needs to be. And being an IPS panel, movies/media looks really good too.

As far as someone commenting that it doesn’t come with a USB to USB B cable so you can’t connect the monitors USB HUB to your PC…I honestly can’t remember whether I got that cable in the box or whether I’m using the spare I had lying around. However the USB hub is super useful and the fast charge USB really is faster than PC USB charging. The speakers are there just for convenience, not for any serious listening, but they are there, unlike similar monitors from other manufacturers at higher prices.

Simply put: if the stand was a classic square/round unobtrusive foot and the monitor had a nipple at the back instead of the worst bottom mounted OSD buttons ever (though the OSD software provided by AOC does the job just fine) in my opinion this would probably be the best price/performance competitive gaming monitor in the world by a country mile.

As it stands, it is still deserving of that title, only (at least for me) not quite so emphatically…

    EDIT;

In March 2022 I’ve had to RMA the monitor because it started developing a blurry picture when in BIOS of my motherboard and it had weird white trailing on the AOC logo even when not connected to any display output. The RMA process is done through Amazon for the first 2 years of the warranty and was frankly as easy as an RMA as I could imagine (by the way you get 3 years warranty in total, I think, but didn’t confirm that). The replacement monitor works fine so far.

Does this incident make me reconsider the 5 star review I gave the monitor originally? Not really, but there are caveats.

Firstly, the complaints I had with the original monitor regarding the menu buttons don’t apply to the replacement. The new buttons are a lot less stiff and thus infinitely more usable and no longer a nuisance. It didn’t occur to me at the time that this was the real issue with the original buttons, I thought they were a pain to use because of their placement. Anyway, that’s certainly a plus.

Secondly, it’s also worth noting that the replacement/perhaps new? monitor (and I mean new as in they changed some things, not as in “it was new in the box”, which of course it was, I wouldn’t have accepted a “refurbished”/used replacement) is noticeably heavier. I didn’t have scales at hand to weigh them both before I sent the old one back, but me and a few other friends could feel the difference just lifting it up, it was obvious to the average human touch. Makes me think they put in a more substantial PSU inside compared to the old version…this is the only reason I can think of for such a weight difference. From that I could make a whole bunch of other speculations, but don’t want to do that in a review. I’ll just say that for your consideration the original faulty monitor was made in 05/21 and the replacement was made in 09/21.

Having said all that I still feel a 5 star review is justified because I accept that a small percentage of faults will happen on mass produced products, that is a fact. In this case perhaps I just happen to be the unlucky one that got hit. I certainly don’t have evidence to the contrary at the moment. Also, considering they made the RMA process so effortless I wasn’t particularly inconvenienced.

However I hope the replacement will hold up because if it doesn’t, then I will certainly be changing the nature and rating of my review.
