This folding L bracket seemed interesting when I first seen it so I wanted to give it a try. So part of the reason I wanted it was that it is an Arca Swiss mount, a mount that seems to be derived from rifle accessories, and recently camera tripod mounting options. And I have a few tripods that take this standard. I was also intrigued by the addition of the cold shoe mount. In my example I show a GH5 mounted to it and using it to mount a shotgun mic in the cold shoe. For me this could help me out in a multi cam shoot where I use a switching device called a Sling Studio, allowing me to use the hot shoe(cold shoe mounted) camera link, and a directional shotgun mic in the l bracket cold shoe mount. Now I do have other L-Brackets that do not fold. That function alone can be used as almost a Dutch head move. It’s a unique take on a camera plate and going forward it might help me get some shots I might have a hard time getting without over complicating the rig. Only wish I have it the ability to disengage the locking mechanism. So it can be rotated from vertical to horizontal without pushing the lock which would create as said earlier a Dutch head style move…

    Quality
This comes in minimal white cardboard box and is ready to use straight away. The first thing that I noticed was the solid quality build of the L bracket; it also has a good weight to it. This L bracket has a folding portable design and can fit most cameras with its adjustable locking screw. For just under 20 this is must have accessory when mounting your camera to a tripod or any other tasks.

    Nicely machined ki
Item received in good condition in a plain cardboard box.

This bracket on first impression is very nicely made and produced to a good finish. The quick release works very nicely and the adjustment between landscape and portrait mode is very smooth and easy to operate.

Since using this on my tripod I have found it to be a good solid mount that holds my camera safe and secure.

Well Made Quick Release L Bracke
Not all of my tripods have the facility to enable me to use my camera angled for full length portrait photography. I have found that this is easily rectified by using this CAMOLO DSLR foldable camera L bracket. The bracket is supplied with a standard 1/4″ fixing screw for attaching it to a camera. Once fitted to the body of a camera it then provides the user with two options for attaching it to a QR mount of a tripod in either landscape or portrait orientation.

It is an all metal construction with a good quality finish and rubber pads incorporated on the surface where a camera is fitted. It also has a cold shoe mount and a number of 1/4 inch threaded holes to enable other accessories to be attached to the plate. By simply depressing the release button where the two sections join enables both sections of the plate to be folded flat against each other which reduces the amount of space it requires for storage.

It is in my opinion reasonably priced as it looks and feels well made and is very easy to use. I have used this L bracket with both DSLR and Mirrorless cameras and find that it performs very well with both. It is not ideally suited for use in portrait orientation if a large, heavy zoom lens is attached to the camera as the single fixing for attaching it to a camera body may not be sufficient to keep the camera lens from tilting downward. Overall it is a very useful addition to my photography kit which enables me to shoot in portrait orientation without the limitations of using a basic QR plate. Recommended.

    Solid bracket. A bit heavy.
Full Disclosure: I received this product at no cost for evaluation through Amazon Vine program.

This is a solid, seemingly well built L bracket. It folds flat, which is its big comparative advantage, along with its cost being far less than many alternatives.

It is Arca-Swiss compatible on either leg of the bracket, and it mounts with a screwed in D-Ring screw which obviates the need for any special tools; that is a big plus.

I compared it to my Really Right Stuff L bracket (see last two pics), which does not fold. In comparison:

-This bracket is heavier at 5.3oz vs 4.6oz.
-It folds, whereas you have to take the two legs apart with an Allen wrench to make it flat on the RRS
-On my Nikon, if the vertical leg of the bracket is close to the left side of the camera it blocks access to the ports there. It it is on the right, it blocks access to the flash card compartment.
-It mounts with its own D-Ring, whereas the RRS requires an Allen wrench (which is magnetically attached to it.). I note that taking it off the camera required a little jiggling of the D-Ring screw since it tended to get stuck while turning in the bracket itself.

All in all, a good value for an L-Bracket which will fit most cameras, albeit giving up easy access to one side or the other of the camera.

    Limited mounting options
The build quality of this mount is very good. However its for a rail mount and currently I don’t have any tripods with that type of mount, mine are all quick release screw thread mounts, so I will have to buy an adapter. I had hoped I would be able to remove the two base bolts allowing me to screw my standard tripod mount into one of the holes, but the bolts won’t move even though they look as they should. Although this is a good piece of engineering, in my opinion it would be improved if there was a suitable standard screw thread mounting hole that could be used with a quick release mount. It does however fit my Canon 90D.

Versatile, good quality and perfect for my aurora photography
Out in the field at night time with limited light and not wanting to dazzle other photographers with a torch you need gear that is easy to use and reliable so you can quickly switch from portrait to landscape quickly. This adapter plate fits the bill perfectly. It is solid, connects securely to my existing tripod head and operation is effortless.

For the price point I feel this represents good value for money. It is a definite keeper.

Foldable L bracket for DSLR and mirrorless cameras
The L shaped bottom/side mount for cameras to mount to manfrotto and similar style tripods. Unit is high quality steel with padding along bottom to prevent camera scratches and includes the camera mounting screw.
L Bracket has 8 bottom screw holes as well as 6 side screw holes to connect any multitude of accessories.
It fits my Canon R6mk2 extremely well as I can mount in portrait or landscape positioning on tripods.
This bracket is highly recommended because I am able to connect all my external devices and still have room for more.
It folds and unfolds with a simple push of hinge button. Once in position, it does not move.

    DSLR foldable L bracke
This really is a quality bit of kit, ok its near 18 but there looks to be a lot of machining gone into the 4 parts that make up this bracket. It folds and unfolds with a satisfying click and locks into place. Both sides of the L have fully machined groved for your tripod & end stops so you dont over run. The 1/4 inch screw mounting is infintly adjustable across the bracket. As well as it being suitable for my DSLR it also has a use with my rear 1/4 inch mount field camera, so I can use a tripod with it. Win win for me.
    Very pleased with mine.

    Solid
Solid build quality silvery in colour for me not black like the image but doesn’t matter. If you want to use any cold shoe mounts some screw holes may be blocked due to tiny screws however this shouldn’t pose a huge problem as there are alternative places for mounting. It’s solid build quality not too heavy, perfect for mounting to a tripod.

This is a very good quality product and outstanding value for money. It’s easy to fit and to remove and doesn’t cause any scuffs or scratches. It’s just as good as an OEM part.

    Versatile and reliable mou
This camera clamp works with the majority of DSLR cameras that meet Arca-Swiss standards.

The CAMOLO DSLR Foldable Camera L Bracket Mount was built from a durable aluminium alloy, so it feels sturdy and reliable. Its installation to the camera and tripod also becomes easy and more secure. Plus, the rubberized padding on the mounting surface protects against camera scratches and slippage.

Furthermore, the mount’s Arca Swiss quick-release plate allows for a smooth transition between vertical and horizontal shooting orientations. A cold shoe is also included for attaching a monitor, microphone, LED lights, and other video production accessories, and the QD hole allows for the installation of straps for easy transport.

In terms of performance, it offered the stability and support required for clear, blur-free images. The ability to switch between vertical and horizontal orientations on the fly was also extremely useful, particularly during fast-paced shooting situations. Its foldable design even adds to its portability, allowing you to pack it easily in your camera bag without taking up too much space.

Overall, this is a must-have accessory for photographers looking for more versatility and stability in their shooting positions.

I love everything about this L-bracket. I use it to accessorize my cameras that are not in cages with gear or to quickly change the Horizontal and Vertical orientation. There are many quarter 20 screw holes for mounting options almost like a cheese plate. The folding feature is cool but I just keep it mounted on my 2nd camera for instant access and use. Great product for rea.

    Sturdy Support for Your Investme
I like almost everything about this CAMOLO L bracket, but one thing. The D-Ring on the 1/4-20 does not lie flat, depending on where you end up when tightened. Why not use a 1/4-20 screw without the D-Ring, and maybe add a small magnetic flathead screwdriver? Haha, it’s easy for me to be a backseat engineer.

There’s a lot to like about this bracket. Folds for easy storage.
Plenty of screw holes for attaching stuff. Cold shoe. Arca Swiss for quick mounting.

Bottom line a solid piece of gear at a reasonable price point. Should there be any durability issues, I’ll update this review.

    Easy to travel L bracke
I picked up the CAMOLO Foldable Arca Swiss Compatible L Bracket for my Z series cameras.

It’s made of 4 separately milled pieces of aluminum, the folding plate function locks when pulled apart and to fold it back you push on the screw unlocking the plate and it can be folded back onto itself. The extension plates both vertical and horizontal have grooves in them enabling them to fit into Arca Swiss compatible heads. The base plate has a 1/4″ locking screw for your camera and 8 additional 1/4″ screw holes for the rig or other possible accessory attachments. On the vertical portion, there are 6 additional 1/4″ screw holes for other accessory attachments. On the base of both the base and vertical plates are two catch screws for catching the camera when not fully tightened in the tripod head.

Depending on what I’m out shooting, I don’t always use a vertical plate, however, when I do I like the fact this one is compact and foldable – unlike the other ones I have that have to be taken apart if I want to travel with them with any convenience.

Overall, if you’re looking for a compact travel vertical plate, the CAMOLO Foldable Arca Compatible plate is a no-brainer and should be in your camera bag!

    Very sturdy and thick
Thus folding L bracket locks into place and snaps open and closed with a side button you press. The button is firm and won’t be triggered by accident. It comes with 1 screw pin..
It is very thick and a bit heavy. But it does the job and has Lots of mounting screw holes to fit any and all needs.

When I ordered this I thought maybe the hinge could be used to flip portrait and landscape, but the channel for the 1/4-20 is uni-directional facing inside the L (maybe if you had a longer 1/4-20 bolt you could mount on the other side). This means the hinge is really just for compact storage and portrait/landscape requires releasing at the ARCA plate and reattaching. There's a tiny bit of play in my unit at the hinge which can make it wobble a tiny bit in portrait mode. A shim of paper folded 2x was just about right to take the play out of it (pictured). The hinge did take a second to get used to how it works: the part that looks like a button is a post and you pull the longer leg of the L towards which slides and then can be folded. Considering the hinge is only used for storage it's tolerable. This really seems like a universal half cage for SLR or mirrorless camera.

Super useful for side mounting a DSLR
Ordered this to use for my Sony camera that I use to shoot video – when I need to turn it on it’s side I usually have to disassemble/unmount from the tripod so I thought this would save me some time – and it DOES! It comes folded so it’s very compact (which also makes it easy to take with you on the go) and it mounts easily to any cold shoe – it is very stable and even has rubber pads to keep the camera safe. Took me a minute to figure out the quick release button but that’s more user error than the product LOL – I thought that was TOO simple of a solution but turns out that just how the product is – simple! And this is a good thing.

There are lots of spots for mounting too – so you can definitely use with other things like a gimbal or even a phone.

If you use a tripod for photography/video work or are a content creator that uses a camera to film, then this thing is a time saver and well worth the $20 several times over. I recommend it!
