The description says bronze but it’s more of a purple colour and looks lovely. It seems to be well made and very easy to use as the large trigger is easy to press. No leaks so far unlike the one it’s replacing. Feels solid and the different spray patterns work well. Value for money and I’d recommend.
After ruining several plastic hose pipes, sending many back online and in-store due to poor quality out of the box that leaked instantly I decided to spring for a more expensive metal one after a recommendation for a colleague

Stronger spray and not a single leak so far. Fitted to existing connections easily and works far better than I expected and superior to any other I’ve owned over the last 20 years!!

This easily clips into a standard connector like any other. The settings are great, there’s a lot of variety between the modes which you can see in my video. You can see that after a couple of attempts, I finally worked out that it’s easy to change the settings with one hand. You can also easily clip and unclip the latch which holds the trigger down for you, so the whole thing can be operated one-handed.
It feels very solid in your hand, being mostly constructed of metal. It seems durable, so I’m not worried about it breaking anytime soon.
I’ve had many expensive branded sprayers in the past as my OH seems to forget to empty the water after using it in winter so when if freezes, the plastic body splits. As such, the concept of a metal sprayer appealed.
The sprayer is quite heavy, I personally like this as it feels solid, but if you used this over a long period, it may stsrt to introduce fatigue. All of the fittings look like brass, again, this will add to its longevity. I was pleased to see that they even added some spare washers if you need them.
The water flow is controlled via the trigger, it feels solid, it has a lot of resistance so again could bring on fatigue. There’s a clip to keep this in the open position, but it’s not the best and I found that it often unclipped.
The sprayer has multiple settings, from a soft haze (good for delicate plants) right up to a high pressure jet, making it versatile and fit for almost any purpose.
The only thing that makes me mark this down is the 100% metal in the description. I accept that the body is metal, and this should protect from drop damage and winter freezing. However, the head is the part that often leaks and takes the brunt of any impact, so it is a weak link in my opinion. It’s also quite expensive compared to branded plastic sprayers. This may however be mitigated by the added lifespan if this product, I will post back if I encounter anything to suggest this may not be the case.
A good quality spray gun. Feels like it will last a long time. Had several different ones over the years, all had some plastic in them which degrades over time. Would recommend this product.
The first thing you notice on unboxing is that these is a really solid, and quite heavy, spray gun. It is made of metal and not plastic (except for the added plastic bits like the grip). I’m sure it is going to last for years.
I fitted it into a standard hose connector and no leaks so a good fit. I did notice that you needed to have the hose on at a reasonable amount of pressure before the gun would work. Initially I had not turned the hose on enough and it didn’t work. The problem then is that you need to make sure that you are on the right setting, as if you are on the Blast setting then your plants are blown away. Make sure you start with the Mist setting.
There is a plastic bit of detailing that looks like you can adjust the pressure of the spray at the top of the handle, but after lots of attempts to twist it, I think it is just decoration as I could not get it to move. If it had been to adjust the pressure then I would have give this a 5 star review.

This hose spray gun is fairly weighty and feels quite solid. It’s not the highest quality item, there are plenty of ‘as cast’ surfaces on the main body which haven’t been machined completely smooth leaving a rough surface, as well as a number of marks and imperfections on the domed spray body. If I had spent my own money on this I may have initially been a little disappointed, however in reality this is a utilitarian item that’s going to get knocked and scratched during use anyway so not such a big deal. It’s a little concerning how the ‘instructions’ identify it will break easily if left out in the cold, this leads me to conclude some of the internal components are probably quite weak and the metal used is of a low quality.
In use so far there are no leaks and the various spray patterns work well, it is however a shame that the manufacturer didn’t add a simple marker line so you can quickly tell which pattern is selected. The wire loop which can be used to hold the trigger on works but is about the cheapest and most basic method of achieving this. Having a button incorporated into the mechanism would be much nicer.
Priced at just over 19 (24 with 20% voucher) at time of review it’s a bit overpriced for something that is clearly cheaply made, and I’m not entirely convinced being metal it will be any more robust than a plastic alternative from one of the major brands which in my experience have survived many a winter left outside.
INTRO & DESCRIPTION
The FANHAO “Heavy duty hose pipe spray gun” arrives in a retail box. It is a matte finish, which they describe as “bronze”, but I would call more of a plumb colour. It has a choice of 8 different spray patterns. The outer casing is made from zinc alloy, and it has a rubberised dial, and an ergonomic soft grip, non-slip handle. The connector is made from brass.
OPINION&CONCLUSION
This is a heavyweight spray gun which feels excellent quality compared to my old plastic one. It is comfortable to hold, and has a good selection of spray patterns suitable for most uses ranging from washing the car or patio, through to watering the garden.
Just one point, although the handle is rubberised and non-slip, the part at the front where the grooves are, is less likely to be held. When holding it, your hand tends to be around the back and on the trigger. The trigger is metal with no rubberised covering. The dial is rubberised which definitely makes it easier to alter the spray pattern without your wet hands slipping.
In conclusion, this is an excellent quality spray gun, which is built to last. It connected perfectly with no leaks or drips. I have recorded a short video to demonstrate the spray patterns which I hope you will find helpful.

Very pleased with this Garden Hose Spray Gun. Quality appears excellent and certainly the best I have ever owned as I normally buy cheap and you know what that means!
Majority of the Spray Gun appears to be metal and of good construction. The nozzle adjustment twists into the desired spray pattern with a very reassuring click. 8 patterns are available, Jet, Cone, Shower, Flat, Mist, Vertical, Centre and finally Full. I have had a quick test of each in between the rain and all works well with a pattern to suit all.
Have to say I was quite surprised just how good this is compared to some of the “Plasticky” things you find in many Garden Centres. All in all this is a well made, quality item that also offers excellent VFM with the 20% voucher currently available.
As demonstrated, great spray nozzle, 8 patterns, each performed really nicely, great pressure plus the trigger was very smooth to use. You can also lock the trigger in the open position for extended spraying.
Comfortable to hold, plus the rotating dial to change the spray patterns had a very satisfying click upon operation. The grip has a rubber cover which made holding the nozzle comfortable and firm.
As the body is made from metal it’s certainly going to be more weather proof than some plastic nozzles that simply crumble after x years. The rotating dial appears to be metal and coated in rubber. Hence making this great against those accidental drops. I will say the finish is good but it’ll be interesting to see how it weathers after some use in the garden.
There’s a screw in the middle of the shower head, no idea if this is 304 stainless or not? Thus from my perspective not a great design feature, this may cause issues in the long run if it starts to rust. Thus I may have to keep my eye on it, and replace IF necessary. Also great to have brass fittings versus plastic, a big bonus for it’s longevity.

First impressions were that this was a solid hose pipe gun. It has a good weight to it (which is something to watch out for if you prefer a lighter weight one, as I’d imagine if you’re using it for a while, it could start to feel too heavy) yet is easy to operate. The “trigger” itself is easy to use, and can also be locked in place if needed. The various spray settings can be selected by rotating the spray end – and there are a lot of choices, from a fairly high pressure jet (obviously depending on your water pressure/flow) to a very fine mist.
It also comes with a couple of spare washers/gaskets .. but no clue what they’re for. They’re not mentioned in the very sparse documentation that comes with it.
The gun connected easily and with no leaks to my Hozelock hose connection, and there was no dripping or leaking from either end in use.
My only other criticism was basically nitpicking .. as the sellers page states it is 100% metal which, of course, it is not. But it does feel like most of the bits that can be metal, generally are. Anything that isn’t, is to aid in the use of it, such as around the handle and the spray head.
All in all .. a very nice, good quality, bit of kit. Very pleased.

First impression out of the box is of a quality product. Being metal rather than plastic it has a good weight to it. Attaching to the hose with the quick fit connector is very easy. And the spray gun comes with 2 spare washers which hopefully won’t be needed for a long while, if ever.
With the water turned on there is no leakage from where the spray gun attaches to the hosepipe. The trigger is smooth and has a handy loop to keep the water flowing without needing to hold the trigger in. Adjusting the spray pattern is easy and each setting is named on the selection dial.
This feels like a quality product and doesn’t disappoint in use. I do have a couple of minor concerns though. One is the instructions saying not to leave it out in the winter, that’s a first for me. I always leave my gardening gear in the garden all year round. The second concern is the price, its more expensive than similar items.
